I am in no way defending what the yankees are doing...but the Devil Rays shouldn't have put themselves in this position. They were given the choice to leave before it hit, and they said they would rather leave later...and that was a stupid decision. However the Yankees should show more compassion.

Let me say RedandWhite, I went to 3 Red Sox yankee games this year, the Red Sox won all three. I never once met an asshole Red Sox fan at those games. I actually feel ashamed right now that some of my fellow sox fans have acted this way toward another white sox fan...its embarrassing. Good luck, Go White Sox!

Red Sox fans have had to watch their rival make the playoffs 9 straight years and watch their rival win 4 world series rings during that span. How can you blame them for resenting the yankees?

How many teams have offered contracts to keep home grown talent? How many teams have made trades? Hate teams for winning 26 championships...not for spending money to keep their fans happy.

My fear is an invasion of Iran and possibly syria that causes an uproar in the entire muslim world. Muslim hardliners rise up in Iraq and Afghanistan undoing the work done there while our troops face an Iranian army that is not weak and lacking leadership like the previous two. The war in Iran requires total war tactics that kill many civilians and make life a living hell for the people of Iran. In the other muslim countries the protests and terror attacks cause turmoil. Citizens of those countries who were once grateful for being freed by the US are now disgusted with what the US is doing to their world. As we lose support from the average citizen, we also lose support from the open minded muslims of power who tend to side with us, like the ayatollah. Now when thugs like Al-Sadr take over cities the open minded muslims are not there for us to talk these thugs off the ledge. Though ultimately we would probably regain control of the region the losses would be extensive, and it would not be a pleasant road. Anyone have opinions on what the future maybe if we were to carry the war across the border?

Good timing for this thread. My car and I had our first ride together this morning. I have a 2000 Ford Taurus. It isn't going to blaze past anybody or make the girls skirts fly up, but it will get me around. It has been waiting for me in the garage, it was just a matter of time before I got my lisence (damn NJ laws). Now I have my license and a car.

My thoughts go out to you and all of those in Florida right now. My grandma lives in Daytona beach and she high tailed it to my aunt's house in atlanta a few days before Frances hit. The last one that hit (I cant think of its name) knocked tree's down everywhere by my Grandma's so my grandma decided not to ride out another one at home. She plans on going back at the end of the week. Does your workplace have a hurricane room? My grandma's neighbor works at a building with a hurricane safe room that employees can use and important work items are kept in there.
