  1. s***, more ranting... About flag burning being acceptable, it's not, it is disrespecting all of those who have given their lives to this country. Burn a picture of Bush or a poster that says U.S.A. if you need to, but not the flag...Burning the flag is the most hypocritical thing you can do. That flag gives the people the right to protest, the right to have an opinion, and a right to make change when unsatisfied, and yet protestors burn it...dumbass hypocrits...I say burning a flag should come with the penalty of automatic deportation, even if you have lived in the U.S. your whole life, if you burn the flag you get sent to Cuba...If that happened all those flag burning s***-heads would come running back to that flag begging to be a U.S. citizen again. I might actually side with protestors if they were smart and didn't try to be freaking Ghandi's by blocking bridges, acting as human shields(that worked well). Protesters also ruined Veitnam War Veterans. How would you like it if you came home from a war after your friends had been killed and you risked your life for your country, and when you get home, you get booed and people throw stuff at you...unacceptable. On a positive note, I am 16 and it is good to hear people my age, both in these boards, and at school, talking about this war and expressign political opinions...maybe this country has a future after all.
  2. What pisses me off is that the protestors claim that this war is "murder" you are killing the "innocent" people...well s*** it seems that those people living there don't seem to mind as they parade in the streets when the U.S. Soldiers come...I can't remember the exact Iraqui city I saw on the news, but in that city as an American was taking down a poster of Saddam, an Iraqui man started to beat the picture of Saddam with his shoe...Saddam is a murderous man and the people of that country can not live peacefully and happily until he is gone or dead(which, he may be). People are protesting for the life of a man who gasses his own people and is a "dictator"...it seems that protestors are using their freedom of speech to make sure the Iraqui never get their own freedom of speech. Ok I am done ranting for today...just had to get that off my chest. By the way Operation Iraqui Freedom makes for some great tv...I saw some good bombage yesterday, if I had only seen some blood I would have all my bloodlust taken care of
  3. I am sorry about the error I made involving the Go-Go Sox. It is very interesting to hear you talk about their successes in the early 50's...I guess sometimes things get lost in history, I never knew about that 14 game winning streak...hopefully the Chicago will fall in love with this years sox. My dad often tells me about when he was growing up in Detroit and would drive to Sox games with his father in the late 50's and early 60's. He went to a World Series game against the Dodgers in 1959, I don't remember the exact game though. 1993 was the first season I really followed baseball, I was only 6, but my dad and brother were so in love with this team that I couldn't help but devote all my attention to the Sox. My favorite player was Bobby Thigpen, at the time I did not know he was traded until the next spring I got a baseball card of Thigpen wearing a Phillies jersey, I was heartbroken. That year My brother, my father, and I went to game one of the playoffs against Toronto...I don't remember a whole lot, except we were sitting in top of the upper deck in the left field corner. The man sitting in front of us had a radio and told us during the game that MJ was retiring. What a sad night, Sox lost and Jordan was retiring...looking back on it I appreciate the memories of it though. damn this was a long post
  4. I have a few questions, Are the White Sox retro jerseys available to use? Does the game allow you to use the retro jerseys during a season? How updated are the rosters? Last but not least, on a scale of 1-10 what would you give ASB 2004?
  5. I don't think we need Paul, at all...but I also think that it would be impossible to get a legitamite player in return for him. Our catching situation is not good...I have always hated when catchers are platooned. Look at the catchers that were in the playoffs last year(Posada, Pierzynski, Molina, Hernandez, Santiago, Barajas, Matheny, and Lopez) All were everyday starters, except for Barajas who was subbing for the injured D. Miller. The last 2 years the sox have been splitting time between 3 catchers, none of whom have performed that well. In 2000 we went with Fordyce everyday until we got Johnson, then we used him everyday, and we made the playoffs. The sox need a guy like LoDuca...though I am not sure if the Dodgers are shopping him. I know the Braves are shopping Lopez, and if he doesn't have nagging injuries this year he should return to his old form...I would give the Dodgers: Paul, Olivo, Ginter for Lo Duca...maybe they would consider that
  6. Thats not entirely true, when I lived in Chicago we had the package, and I got every Sox game
  7. After examining my brackets I chose Kentucky, Arizona, U-Conn, and Louisville for my Final Four, and Kentucky over Lousiville in the finals. Some of my big early upsets are, Weber St. over Wisconsin, Wisconsin-Milwaukee over ND, Butler over Mississippi St. and Penn over Oklahoma St. I also have Mizzou and Creighton as surprise Elite 8 teams. Anybody have some sleeper picks? by the way DePaul vs. NC in the NIT tonight

    Sox 2003

I think our pitching and defense needs to perform for us to do well this year. look at last year, we scored a lot of runs but when our offense went into slumps, we were dead...And those dead streaks killed the Sox last year. In 2000 The White Sox staff pitched really well in the first half, Baldwin was even an allstar, but in the second half it faltered and the Sox stumbled a bit, even with that offense. So I think the sox will need a big year out of the pitching staff to win anything
  9. I hate the Illini, but I hate the buckeyes even more...so go ILLINI...Illinois is not going anywhere this year though, it all Kentucky in the brackets
  10. The very best baseball game ever was Ken Griffey Jr Major League baseball for Super Nintendo, that was a great game. That is the only baseball video game I ever had that I actually played through an entire season. Bo Jackson was very good in that game, and in my season Karcovice hit over 50 HR's. But since that game is from 1993 or 94 you cant trade or do anything like that, but back in the day I loved it...baseball games have gone down hill ever since. I remember Ken Griffey Jr for Nintendo 64 was good until it became too easy to play and the scores would be 60-0. Unfortunately I would never play more than 10 games a season because it was too easy...I wish i still had Super Nintendo and the original KGJ baseball

Maybe if you would open up the sports section every once in a while you wouldn't be so clueless

DePaul is chicago's team and you don't even know their name ...as for not being a college basketball fan I can understand that...When I was younger I watched it in the early 90's because I really liked the Fab Five at Michigan, and then I liked it again when DePaul had Simmons, Williams, and Richardson in the late 90's... I have continued liking it ever since, in fact I am going to Madison Square Garden with some friends for the Big East Conference Tournament championship tonight
  13. Man what was Mota thinking running away like that...you either don't throw at him or if you do you fight him like a man. I remember being at the fight game in 2000 vs. Detroit and Parque (who is a small guy) stood up to Dean Palmer... Mota should have just charged right into Piazzas gut...Damn Mota had to flee to the clubhouse, I bet you his teamates gave him hell for that

    Jason Sehorn

I live in the suburbs of New York City, and the sports radio shows and all the fans here absolutely hate this guy...he really does suck, Fassell ruined his career by having him run back that kick that he tore up his knee on...He does have a hot wife though, but aside from being a terrible corner he can usually get a long with the media...I say if the bears can get him cheap, real cheap, get him and make him a safety and see how he does

    Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila

    Jersey Dilemma?

Yeah I gave up junk food for lent and I have already lost 5 lbs...5'8 1/2 160 isn't that bad...though I am trying get a more muscular 160 rather than a Double Cheeseburger 160...but I am still in high school so I might as well stock up on unhealthy foods while I still have a metabolism
  18. I feel clueless...all I know is that Toe Nash was a very good player in the Louisiana Southern league...what has happened since

    Jersey Dilemma?

I am going to buy a new sox jersey on Ebay and I have no idea what size jersey I am? I am about 5'8 1/2. I have a Bears jersey that is size 40 and it is a little tight, but I dont know how that compares to a baseball jersey...I am thinking maybe I am a 44, can anybody help?
  20. I disagree, this is the first pleasant story in the U.S. in a very long time, making it more important to our nation than an assasination in the Balkans.
  21. I agree, it just seems to me that she could have just screamed for help at some point, but that is easy for me to say while sitting at home. What the hell is that?

    Sox 2003

Normally I would say get your head in the game, because that ain't happening. But this year our offense should be good enough that we will go as far as our pitching takes us. If all of the pitchers live up to there potential we will could easily win it all, unfortunately it has been a while since Sox pitchers lived up to there potential
  23. Wright has closer material with his fastball and knuckle curve, maybe he gets moved to the pen if he never straightens out as a starter. I think Wright will be pretty good this year though, he more than anybody, benefited from Cooper's arrival as pitching coach last year.
  24. Great News that she has been found and they know that physically she is just fine, no signs of abuse so far that I have heard of....Now for the conspiracy theory Doesn't it seem weird to everybody that she was in a car when she was found, meaning that she went places with the man and woman that kidnapped her. She must have been brainwashed or something really odd happened because it seems to me at some point in a public place she could have just screamed who she was and started running and then somebody would help her and the whole thing would have been over, or she could have just jumped out of the car some time during these last 6 months, or however long it has been. So either she was brainwashed or there is some strange twists, like possibly she wanted to join this man and woman in their strange religion. Also this guy does not have a typical kidnapper motive, it wasn't to sexually abuse her because the kidnappers wife is deep in this too from what I have heard, it wasn't to physically abuse her because they haven't found any evidence of that. It just seems weird. ..we will get all the answers eventually Glad she is ok
  25. I may be wrong, but I believe he was in an article of Sports Illustrated not too long ago. If I remember correctly from the article he was a hardthrower for the indians. Alcohol problems ruined his career though, and he bounced around awhile before retiring
