  1. I didn't think I'd feel this way, but it was exciting to have Griffey playing for the Sox tonight. And it was even sweeter to see him deliver us some 2-out RBI singles. No need to swing for the fences if runners are in scoring position. Just get 'em in! Also, the only grape drink I care to consume has a cork.
  2. QUOTE (Texsox @ Jul 26, 2008 -> 02:39 PM) I guess we know where it will rank next year So that's what my new neighbors meant when they were saying "there goes the neighborhood!"
  3. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Jul 30, 2008 -> 02:36 PM) Fred Haney? He was the first to hold the nickname. (Balance looks at Wikipedia....) I just learned something! Haney, apparently, was a little before my time. #72
  4. I'm in. I think they can hold on and win the division. Maybe I'm just a pessimist, but it seems like hoping for more than that would be greedy.
  5. There is only one Pudge, and it ain't Rodriguez. (In my humble opinion)
  6. Brief ray of hope? Nope, still sucks.
  7. This game has sucked since the 5th inning.
  8. This is good news. Maybe we can see something similar for development of concentrated solar thermal electric generation, too.
  9. I would certainly support abolishing the electoral college. It's an unneeded and undemocratic relic.
  10. I've never been a Mike North fan. If the Score were to move Boers and Bernstein to the morning slot, I'd listen to them over Mike & Mike in a heartbeat.
  11. What a waste of my afternoon. Now I have a lot of work to make up.
  12. QUOTE (BearSox @ Jun 20, 2008 -> 02:53 PM) so? Is a pinch hit really worth taking out your starting pitcher who has been pitching very good? Also, even after the pinch hit by Uribe, could someone explain to me why we didn't bunt him over? I was just answering the question. I don't necessarily agree with the decision.
  13. QUOTE (BearSox @ Jun 20, 2008 -> 02:51 PM) Why did we take Danks out? Was he pitching too good? Uribe pinch hit for him and singled to lead off the 7th.
  14. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Jun 20, 2008 -> 02:48 PM) It wasn't a home run from the original view. The one replay angle really makes it look like it hit the pole; but it is indeed only the weird angle that does it. I rewatched the live feed a bunch, and it's easily foul. Thanks. It helps to hear that.
  15. MJH are saying that Cabrera's "foul" in the 7th should have been a homer. I can't say; I'm stuck in my office.
  16. Brian- I meant Brian Anderson. I like you just fine!
  17. I've been a fan of Brian's for a while, but he's making it very, very difficult right now....
