  1. QUOTE(quickman @ Sep 3, 2005 -> 01:36 PM)
    I guess I look at this a different way. THe score was going to provide him a modest increase, he has the right to refuse it and go on. Its the american way. Thats the way the business world works. You could be mad at Rooney for not accepting the deal. He is getting a raise.ITs his choice, not the scores. I think many of you if will find out this is the way the world works if you have not done so already. By the way I have worked for the same company for 15 years. They owe me nothing if they cut me tommorrow for any reason.

    they trained you good

    :headshake

  2. And his name is Juan Uribe.

    Lets give it up for Juan, I've been waiting for him to swing the bat like that all year.

    3-4 with two doubles and 2 RBI's today. 2-3 yesterday, hopefully he can catch fire all the way through October.

    Lets not forget about the game A.J. had either, 3-3 with 2 doubles a dinger and 3 RBI. Fantastic game by both of these guys.

    With performances like these it wont take long to forget about that guy we all wanted from Cincy, what was his name again????

    To Juan and A.J. :cheers

  3. QUOTE(BFirebird @ Sep 1, 2005 -> 06:09 PM)
    I just wanted to voice my opinion that I would like to see a positive vibe at U.S. Comiscular this weekend.  Let's not turn into Cub fans and start booing our team everytime they make mistakes (they do have a little more reason to boo) and cheer our favorite team to victory.

    I know everyone is frustrated right now..I know I am, but if we go out there with some positive energy, I believe it will help a lot.  I will be there friday cheering the Sox to another victory over the hapless Tigers!!!

    :headbang  :gosox1:

    We need some of that here. Being negative is just a waste of time, it isn't going to do any good to b**** about the team, so why not think positive and enjoy the fact that they are STILL IN FIRST PLACE, AND THE BEST TEAM IN THE AMERICAN LEAGUE.

  4. I just hope that once the post season starts that all the "hater" and "naysayers" (you know who you are) don't jump back on the wagon saying "Man, i knew they would do it all along". Just keep posting your negative crap and let us real fans enjoy the spotlight.

  5. QUOTE(bighurt4444 @ Sep 1, 2005 -> 11:54 AM)
    You are right about that.  My guess would be the rotation would go something like this:

    1. Buehrle

    2. Garland

    3. Garcia

    4. Contreras

    El Duque needs to go to the bullpen for the playoffs, maybe even now.  I think McCarthy can pitch just as well as El Duque from here on out.  Just my opinion.

    Dont get me wrong, after the outing he had the other day, i might take him on the playoff roster, but just not as a starter. Duque on the other hand, that guy bring him in for one inning, and hope it aint the "bad" one

  6. QUOTE(bighurt4444 @ Sep 1, 2005 -> 10:11 AM)
    Oh, you're right, I'm not saying play your regular lineup for 6 days and then play all of your backups in one game.  I just mean that all the starters will be playing 6 out of 7 days a week, and not getting 2-3 days off every week.  It drives me crazy as well when Ozzie unloads the bench on us and we have to watch four backups all at once try to win a game.

    I sure hope he dont run out the Triple-A lineup on us on the 8th. i'll be pissed.

    I'll demand my money back!!!!

  7. QUOTE(bighurt4444 @ Aug 31, 2005 -> 04:42 PM)
    Well, thats not a bad idea.  I promise you that if I took over, the Sox would have a more set lineup on a day to day basis, and that the starters would be on the field 6 out of 7 days every week.  Maybe we should start a petition or something.  :lol:

    all kidding aside,

    I dont understand why Pods wasnt in the game today. Unless he was feeling a little tight or sore, the guy hasn't been the lineup for almost two weeks. If he is supposed to be the catylist to this offense he shouldve been in there to try to get things going. Especially when your up against an offense like the Rangers have. I dont understand the reasoning.

  8. QUOTE(bighurt4444 @ Aug 31, 2005 -> 03:55 PM)
    Just in case Ozzie forgot, the everyday lineup should go something like this:

    1. Podsednik

    2. Iguchi

    3. Everett

    4. Konerko

    5. Rowand

    6. Dye

    7. A.J.

    8. Crede (when healthy) Blum now

    9. Uribe

    This is the lineup that should be playing 6 out of 7 days a week in order to win this division.  The lead is now at 6.5 games, not 16.5 games Oz.  Just thought he might need a reminder of what this team looked like earlier this season.  Get it together and get your starters back into 90% of the games!

    Maybe you should give Jerry a call, tell him to let you take over

  9. Wow, what a difference a half a season makes........................

    the beginning of the year the Sox are killing, all you see on this board is posts by members kissing the players asses. Then the second half comes along, the Sox start to skid, and now players are "overrated" , they "suck", and "they are going to blow it". Its no wonder the Sox are losing we have all these fair weather fans posting garbage about the team and sending nothing but bad karma their way.

  10. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Aug 31, 2005 -> 03:44 PM)
    El Duque deserves a golden shower for todays game.  Thankfully the West race isn't between the A's and Rangers because that'd be two teams we can't beat

    afp_r_kelly_140864a.jpg Did someone say golden shower?

  11. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Aug 31, 2005 -> 11:36 AM)
    I'm on the same page as you Dick.  I've written off Frank's career and I'm hoping the Sox have as well.  I think bringing him back this year would be a mistake.  Now if Frank is able to get in some Ab's and look good before the season ends, well thats another story.  I just don't see it happening.

    Plus, Frank was a selfish hitter while with the Sox this year and thats not the type of guy I want on this team.  12 hr's or none, he was killing this team with his swing for the fence approach (especially once he cooled off).

    :lolhitting :lolhitting :lolhitting :lolhitting :lolhitting

    That whole post is laughable. The White Sox went 24-10 with Frank in the lineup. 14 games over .500. I wish we could get another player to "kill" the team like that for the second half of the season. I remember the game against Detroit where Frank hit the HR in the 13th to help us win that game and there was another game where we were losing late and he tied up the game with a HR. I'll take that any day of the week, and twice on Sunday.

  12. QUOTE(whitesoxin' @ Aug 29, 2005 -> 03:11 PM)
    What do you have against me? We're not going past the first round in the playoffs IMO. It sucks to admit, but it is how I see things.

    Thats where your wrong man.............we're going all the way!!!!!!!!!
