  1. Some people have different priorities. Who cares if your friend bought a Trailblazer, maybe he doesn't want to get sucked into a 30 year mortgage in his early 20's. You can still be financially responsible without being cheap. It's just money, you can always make more. Go out and have some fun.

Steve, wait till yor friends buy a HUGE house for over $2500 a month that they cant even think about affording, thats fun...huge house, no furnature, only thing in the pantry is generic Mac N Cheese

This is exactly the type of thinking that force people into living with mommy and daddy until their 35th birthday

  2. After 23 games last season, the Sox were 12-11 this year, they are 13-10.

More disturbing, like last year when the bullpen got off to a great start and fizzled, there is a similair pattern this season. Also, what is it with playing at home?? Last year we started with a 5-7 record and this year 6-6? Even the games that we win at home are an intensive struggle.

I beleive there is better talent on this years team than last years, but some of the same red flags are starting to pop up.

why don't we let the season play out a little before we get so negative?

  3. Has anyone else noticed that Comcast SportsNet has been having major issues with their on-screen score banner?

Tuesday night the score banner was all messed up (Showing Giambi's single shot HR as a two-run HR, constantly off on the count, not recording outs, etc) Last night it disappeared for very large parts of the game, and when it returned it didn't show all the information.

Does anyone know what is going on?

Yeah, I noticed. I was getting very perturbed. After Giambi's HR it said the score was 3-0 for a few seconds, and I was like "WHAT, DID SOMEONE GET ON DURING THE COMMERCIAL" then it went to 2-0. It was getting out of hand.

  4. But, they always say the best thing about baseball is when you lose, you don't have time to dwell on it 'cause the next game is only a day away. That would be a good enough reason to get this game in today. Have this team in a winning state of mind when the birds fly into town.

  5. I'd love to see that article.

I'd also love to see a teammate saying something negative about him. Even Paul apologized for his stupid ass comments about his "fake" ankle injury. Frank was a s*** to one person, and that person deserved it.

It was probably written by Mariotti, and he twisted Frank's words around like only Mariotti can.

  6. Not by me lol, I have never ever liked Konerko and ofcourse his crappy start this year aint helping. I was actually hoping he would be gone after the 05 year but wasnt the case. That being said he will heat up prob mid may to early june and all the kong lovers will be back.

I have always liked Konerko, but I have to admit, lately his "ho-hum" attitude has really been wearing on me. You don't have to be balls to the wall all the time, but some occasional emotion would be nice.

  7. I think had Garland stayed the Sox would have tried to move Jose (problem is they would have had to eat cash and not gotten anything of value in return, hence why they ended up moving Jon Garland).

You say that as if the Sox haven't tried moving Jose. I think if they could they would have gotten rid of him a long time ago whether we still had JG or not. Face it no other team wants to take a chance on Contreras, not with the pricetag he comes with.

  8. I'm in the camp of "Gold Gloves are Media-hyped Bulls***."

Crede and Uribe both (also Rowand), deserved a shot at a Gold Glove a few times since 2004; but, Eric Chavez and Derek Jeter (also Torii Hunter) were cemented in there by the writers because they were "name" guys.

You got me there.......just a little bit though

  9. I agree with your point, I was clarifying my own.

He was there 6 seasons but was only on the field for 4 and 3/4s.

PS - got my movies list?

Ok, so you really don't think he can be considered of the great White Sox players because he wasn't on the team long enough?

Whats that say about Herbert Perry?

Damn it all to hell, I totally forgot about the list, I'll have to get that to you tomorrow. Blasted personal messages.

    Sorry

  10. Actually Frank Thomas' contract was bought out and he was granted free agency 21 days before Jim Thome was acquired so you win nothing.

Sorry Tex..............I'm gonna be needing that trophy back, PRONTO

  11. DEFENSIVELY of course.

If Ozzie's trotting "El Tree Stump" out there every game, at least play him at SS where he's superior to Cabrera - easily.

I don't know where I stand on this. Sure OCab is having a shaky beginning, but he has what, 2 gold gloves that he sent back to his country to get melted down. and Uribe has none. Im willing to give Cabrera the BOTD and allow for better weather before I start judging his glove.

  12. Overall, Shoeless Joe played for the Sox for only like, 4 3/4 seasons.

Outside of batting average, Thomas surpasses him easily.

Actually it was part of 6 different seasons, one of those being a championship season, and would have undoubtedly been more had he not been banned. But thats beside the point. The topic was "all-time White Sox players", not "all-time White Sox players that played more than four seasons with the team".

If the topic is changed to that let me know and I'll retract my vote.
