f***!! Not a good play by JD

JERMAINE... YES!!!!!!!!

I'm baffled that Ozzie brought Jon back out there, that is inexcusable. Leaving him in through the 6th I understand and can get behind, but after 97 pitches and a very tough inning is unbelievable.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ May 28, 2006 -> 01:01 PM) f*** those numbers, he was looking fantastic until that inning. I agree, Jon had looked real good until the 6th. Take him out now, ending his day with a big K... give him something to build on.

GO GO WHITE SOX!!! Avoid the sweep tomorrow and get some positive momentum going for the upcoming series with CLE

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ May 27, 2006 -> 09:16 PM) I don't agree with it at all, just because what it will mean for our team defensively. I mean Brian's actually struck out 10 less times this month, and he's actually got a .822 OPS at home. Agree completely. BA's offense isnt as big of a deal if Uribe is hitting, unfortunately, he is still struggling at the plate. And BA has shown flashes. I just dont understand what sending Anderson down would accomplish since the defense would be hurt substantially. Unless KW has a trade up his sleeve, sending BA down makes no sense at all.

QUOTE(mr_genius @ May 25, 2006 -> 12:53 PM) these guys deserve jail time. 30 years minimum. No doubt, probably more. Guys like this are one of the reasons I decided to go to law school, here's hoping my ideals don't end up going to s***

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ May 25, 2006 -> 03:28 PM) ITS infinitely greater than 24 and I'm a big fan of 24. In fact, for those of you that want, I think all of the 2nd season is currently available to download (for free) on abc.com I think Jack had a plan that they would be captured (my guess is there is something we don't know) because they all looked at each other as if to signal something and that Michael will take the boat to the other side and more stuff will happen. I was curious as to how the f*** the mangetic station was able to call Desmond's old girlfriend (how did she know to look for magnetism???). Lots of stuff left to be answered, but a lot of new stuff came up as well. Just an oustanding finale and I can't wait for the next season. I do wonder if we will ever know everything (even when the series eventually ends) cause I could see a lot of people saying how stupid it is when its all over (kind of like the matrix). My theory on how she knew about the magnetism was because of her father. His last name is Widmore and it's popped up a lot in the background of stuff throughout the series, and she said in this episode that with money, anyone can be found... something like that. And I agree on Jack... I really think Michael let them know they were being double crossed... at least I hope that's the case. Michael could use some redemption.

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ May 24, 2006 -> 04:54 PM) Based on that report, yes, I'd agree that an excessive amount of time is spent delving into Muslim religious aspects – something that shouldn't be done in mandated classes in public school for any religion. The writer's bias certainly shows, though, in his/her NUKE-like use of quotes around "peaceful" and "tolerant" when mockingly describing Islam. And for the vast majority of Muslims, an "internal personal struggle to do one's best to resist temptation" is exactly what personal jihad is. Wow, I agree that seems to be excessive, but I remember learning the various tenants of religion in a World History class my freshman year of high school. It did not involve reading any form of scripture, but rather discussed how the religions were founded and what they teach. I think in the modern world it is beneficial to teach the tenents of different religions in order to foster a greater understanding of other cultures. With regard to the article in question, it seems the books are required reading in upper level high school classes... what will these parents say if these books come up on a college reading list? Callk the professor and protest?

An interesting obersvation (I think) is that Desmond really parallels Odysseus from The Oddysey with his lady friend, Penny, equaling Penelope, the wife that waited for years for him to return. Furthermore, Desmond was involved in a race around the world, a voyage much like Odysseus who also encountered a cyclops which someone said has 4 toes. I really don't know what, if anything, this means... just some more Lost mythology maybe. As far as getting started on the show, I got started this season by watching Season 1 on DVD (finished those in about 4 days), and I can honestly say that I would rent/buy season 1 right before season 2 comes out so you can watch them all the way through. Also of note, Lost is the best drama of tv by far, I love this show.

QUOTE(fathom @ May 23, 2006 -> 07:42 PM) You had to know he would be his streaky self. He's way too pull happy right now. Crede needs to get back to the approach he had at the start of the season, but a lot of major league hitters are streaky... I'm hoping Crede will hit around .280 on the season

QUOTE(shawnhillegas @ May 23, 2006 -> 07:40 PM) MGD is worse. it tastes like pee. I like Miller Lite... the only time I can really tell a taste difference is when I drink another beer first and then switch to the Miller product... oh, and I'm not really a big fan of paying $5.75 for a beer at the game, but thats just because I'm a poor college student.

QUOTE(fathom @ May 22, 2006 -> 06:48 PM) If we're not going to play Cintron when Uribe's in one of his typical slumps, I'm not sure why we got him. What happened on the bases? Agree on Cintron. At this point you can afford to have one guy in the lineup who can't hit but plays great defense. Until Uribe or Anderson starts hitting, Oz shoulc try and get either Cintron or Mack into the lineup. -

Ozzie absolutely needed to do that, Eddings has been squeezing Garland. Now hopefully Garland sacks up and finishes strong. -
