  1. Alright AJ get the job done and put Javy in line for the win
  2. f***! Alright, time for the offense to wake up and get the lead back
  3. Here's hoping Count keeps the walks down and the good guys take 2 out of 3. GO GO WHITE SOX!!
  4. Last observation before I return to class, I forgot how annoying it is to hear Hawk tell me one of the Sox "just missed it."
  5. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 4, 2006 -> 02:32 PM) By that, I meant that all I'm hearing is people saying how we have to win tomorrow so that we win this series. Sure, that would be great. However, our season won't be over if we go 1 and 2 in the first 3 games of the season. No, it's not a must win by any stretch seeing as how baseball is a 162 game season. It would be very nice to start a trend by winning serieses as that's what enabled last year's team to go wire to wire. On Jenks, I thought DJ said the first fastball was at 95?
  6. Rough game for the good guys so far, hopefully can get some runs here and make it interesting. Failing that however, the name of the game is the same as it was last year... win 2 out of 3, 3 out of 4... win the series, especially against teams inside the division. Here's hoping Count comes out tomorrow with good control looking like he did in the 2nd half last year.
  7. El Duque coming out with his tie untied = awesome. Also, I think Willlie and Timo had a contest to see who could look the most ridiculous.
  8. Done with class till 4 and I got home in time for the ring ceremony. As far as Ozzie's lineup goes, this year I don't mind these lineups. I'm excited to see Cintron and Mack get some ABs.
  9. QUOTE(GoSox05 @ Apr 3, 2006 -> 12:04 PM) I'd also like mention that Iguchi had a real nice game. He is so awesome at moving runners over. he also made a gutsy move throwing to second to get the force out on a ground ball. Agree on Iguchi. Unfortunately, a huge storm hit Champaign last night and knocked out the cable so I didn't get to watch the game, but Farmar mentioned that most 2B would not have gone after the lead runner there. It made me think of the play Iguchi made going to 3rd against the BoSox in the playoffs last year.
  10. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Apr 3, 2006 -> 11:42 AM) Seriously...I was worried about him early on and since than I've felt a lot more comfortable about him. I agree and BA is in the perfect situation to break into the majors. Essentially he needs to play great defense, but he has the limited pressure of hitting 9th in what looks to be a pretty good lineup. He's going to have the games where he looks lost at the plate, but that's alright as long as there are enough games like last night where he looks very comfortable at the plate.
  11. Quick question on LSU...do they have any guards coming in next year? This year it seems Darrel Mitchell is really the only long range shooting threat they have. Minor coming back will be a big boost, but I'm just curious as to what they might find in the shooting department.
  12. Wow, he may indeed have the boxing itch, but I am very very surprised that ND is allowing him to do this.
  13. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Mar 27, 2006 -> 01:28 PM) I mean, should we start a college roller hockey forum because i play for the team here? Absolutely. I need my U of I roller hockey fix.
  14. I agree that more tickets sold = more revenue and that's the most important thing. Even though I hate ignorant fans, sitting by them is a small price to pay in exchange for a WS title. As far as Thunderstruck goes, everytime I hear that song I get goosebumps. I've never been more excited for Opening Day in my life!
  15. A UCLA national title over UCONN gets me victory in 2 brackets and a 3rd place finish in a 3rd. Needless to say I am officially on the UCLA bandwagon.
  16. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 02:11 PM) A second round pick is definitely too much. I think a third would be alright. No way, the first day of the NFL draft is the place to pick up depth in the linebacking core, secondary, interior offensive line... you find very productive players there... something I just do not see in Ramsey. Angelo has shown strong draft capabilities in those middle rounds, so I would rather keep those picks.
  17. QUOTE(Iwritecode @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 12:24 PM) So what's the reasoning on using the spot on Borchard when we have 2 other guys who can do the same thing and hit when called upon? I guess it all comes down to what you'd rather have. 3 extra guys that can play firstbase (all of which can also play outfield if needed and pinch hit) or 3 extra guys that can play outfield (two of which can play infield if needed and pinch hit). Borchard has power no one else on the bench has. And while Ozuna did play the OF a couple times last year, I cringe seeing him out there again this year. Borchard is a solid defensive player who can hit the ball a mile. Thus, I feel he fits a need that Gload does not. One last point on this, if Crede needs to go on the DL this year, Mack is the logical sub at 3B leaving a hole at the 4th OF spot. In that scenario, Borchard becomes the 4th OF. Gload only is a late inning defensive sub since Thome is going to play 1B when PK needs a day off.
  18. Honestly, I see Morrison being a Wally Szerbiak type in the NBA (a pretty good scorer who really needs to develop a more complete offensive game and any type of defensive game), and I find it hard to believe that Reddick will not be in an 8 man NBA rotation. Players that can do one thing very very well generally find their way into rotations and with his ability to shoot the ball, this is what I see happening there. With regard to this year, I say Morrison is POY because Gonzaga would not be nearly as good without him (maybe not even a tournament team).
  19. QUOTE(rangercal @ Mar 7, 2006 -> 02:28 PM) He's getting praised by the announcers Harold Reynolds said Marte was "effective in the postseason" and "I dont know why the White Sox soured on him" once again showing how little the baseball tonight crew follows baseball
  20. Well, bubble teams rejoice. Honestly are the Zags that weak that they need to scratch out all these games against inferior competition, or are they just playing down to their level? I guess these questions will be answered in the next couple weeks.
  21. Majerus just called out Morrison for pushing off to create space off the ball. Compared him to Reggie Miller.
