  1. I think the Brewers made a great deal. Talk about three guys that can still help you win this year in the weak WC race. I have liked Nix for some time and I hope he can get his act together. Hats off to the Brewers.
  2. Carlos Lee traded to Rangers per ESPNEWS Thank you Rangers for keeping him away from the Tigers, Twins, and Yankees. I just hope that the Rangers don't become a pain in the butt for us in the WC
  3. I don't know if someone has already posted this, but ESPNEWS is going to talk about the Sox and trades.
  4. What are the odds that we see KW after the game in the press room anouncing a trade. With the Tigers and Twins playing each other this weekend we need to sweep Baltimore. If not today then he better make a move tomorrow.
  5. Anyone that thinks we couldn't use more offense is nuts. What I would give to see a 2 RBI double hit in the gap. The Home Runs are nice, but you are not going to win on them. How quickly things go wrong.
  6. How do you get swept? This series was huge and it just makes me sick. From the looks of it the Tigers and Twins just wanted it more. The team is flat and I would hate to be around KW right now. KW has to make a move soon and Ozzie needs to go crazy (in private) on this team. I do not want to hear any more excuses form Hawk and Ozzie. They suck right now.
  7. That would be the move to put me over the edge. I can not take another year of Carl. After the argument with Willaims there is NO WAY he would become part of our bench.
  8. I thought he was done on that pitch
  9. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Jul 25, 2006 -> 08:17 PM) JD had no chance swinging at that pitch I agree, but if the umpire is going to call that pitch you have to protect in some way.
  10. QUOTE(GoRowand33 @ Jul 25, 2006 -> 08:15 PM) as true as it might be, hawks gotta stop blaming the umpires I do some umpiring for local leagues, and I don't even remember what teams up when I'm making calls so its not as easy at as it seems, but when a team sucks lately, it seems like everything goes against us I also umpire High School, College, and Independent ball and you just make the call. Ypu do not think about screwing a team. You can not blame the umpires.
  11. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jul 25, 2006 -> 08:12 PM) So lets get our gameplan tonight. Take the fastballs down the cock until you have 2 strikes. Then fish for the change in the dirt. Good plan. OR get called out looking on an inside pitch
  12. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 25, 2006 -> 08:10 PM) Is it bad that I don't recall seeing this LoJack caught stealing icon all year? I love it when you analyze.
  13. Who knew Sandy still had it in him......Williams I guess. So far so good
  14. I am not upset about the home run, but we need to start scoring runs without the long ball. This is starting to remind me of 2003/2004.
  15. Detroit is not going to go away. Have to take the first game of the series. Radke is going to retire at the end of the season so lets start the farewell tour and torch him.
  16. Sandy will wear number 18 Sorry ESPN 1000 said 18, but he is 26
  17. Borchard was a class act throughout this whole thing. I am happy to see him go because: 1. He was not going to become anything in a Sox uniform. He was not an Ozzie guy and was not going to make the team. He reminds me of Ben Grieve and will now float from team to team. I will wait and see what Coop can do with Thornton before I pass judgment on the kid. Sometimes a change of scenery and a new pitching coach can do wonders. 2. Borchard is a class act guy and never really b****ed about his situation. He did complain at times, but never really b****ed. He could have been an ego maniac, demanded a trade through the media, and b****ed every day until he got his trade. I hope he can stick with a team and one day become a starter.
  18. QUOTE(chitownsportsfan @ Mar 21, 2006 -> 09:42 AM) The first lead Thortnon blows will have us all clamoring for Marte and Viz, which is sad. How does a bullpen go from a position of strength to the biggest weakness in a month? At the top the bullpen still looks strong with Jenks and Cotts, but it's the middle guys that are looking real shaky right now for those 6th and 7th innings where the Sox are in a tight game. We have 5 starters that could be the #1 on many other teams. They can afford to let the pen slip a little. Hopefully the team will not need the middle guys as often as last year due to the starters. Marte and Viz blew their share of leads. I will not miss Viz or the "new" Marte. Marte was s*** last year and he was not the pitcher of old. Both had their issues and I trust KW to go and get someone if the team needs pen help.
  19. I went nuts in the garage sale. A-Row Broken Bat A.J. Broken Bat Uribe Broken Bat Bottle used in American League Championship Celebration 2 mystery bags with Hernandez autographed picture, Joe Crede autographed baseball, and other neat stuff. Total = $375.00 I was very happy with my purchase and I love that all the money went to a good thing. Thank You White Sox!
  20. QUOTE(Steve Bartman's my idol @ Nov 23, 2005 -> 04:26 PM) 3 man rotation, Paul, Thome, Frank. I'd rather have Frank coming up to pinch hit than Ozuna, Widger, Gload, etc. What? I really do not know how to respond to this. So with Thomas on the bench - anytime you need him to pinch hit you waste two players off our bench. Thomas and his defensive replacement. Thome and Konerko will not want to have a rotation and I doubt Thomas wants to sit on the bench. You are CRAZY.
  21. Steve Bartman's My Idol - What would Frank do on the bench? He can not play defense and he is not worth keeping around to pinch hit on an American League team. DH = Yes / Pinch Hit = NO
  22. If they get Pierre - Anderson will start in the minors and be great for insurance. Let him play everday and mature into a better player. I was not on these boards last year, but I can imagine that the talk about Pierre will be the same about Pods when he was traded for. Pierre would be a nice addition now. He was also a center fielder on a World Series team
  23. The Thome trade should signal the end of the Frank Thomas era in Chicago. They will resign Konerko and there will be no room for Thomas. Ozzie and KW have been waiting for a chance to let Thomas go and between the injuries and the contract Frank will not be coming back. Thanks for the memories Big Hurt.
