  1. I received an email from Stephanie today. So far only 42 tickets have been sold for the May 26 Patio Party. Tickets will go to groups and the general public after April 13. She requests that reservations be made sooner rather than later. Just a heads up.
  2. I received an email from Stephanie Furlan today indicating that there were those who were upset that this thing is being called WSI-Fest. I have no idea which site's users were complaining, but if anyone here did so, please don't take it out on her. There's a reason we're going to stick to the title "WSI-Fest, and it has nothing to do with any kind of inter-site rivalry. (I personally couldn't care about stuff like that, as those of you who attended the COTC parites can attest.) I was asked by the Sox if WSI wanted to have a patio party. I surveyed our users who replied in the affirmative. I gave Stephanie the dates selected by WSI about New Year's Day. It was after this was in the works that Mike contacted me about combining a patio party with softball. As it stands now, I'm at my busiest time of the year for my job; my son, who has linked the flyer is starting a new job, and the flyer covers both dates WSI selected. Neither my son nor I really have the time to make changes at this late date. You are all invited as our guests, and as the organizer, I can tell you that you are all just as welcome as any WSI member.
  3. A couple of months ago I received an email from Stephanie Furlan of the Sox asking if WSI wanted to have a patio party this year. We got ideas for dates and times, and somewhere along the way, Mike Gresham made what I thought was a great suggestion, and that is for both sites to participate, and have a softball game beforehand. He also suggested that donations for playing/viewing be accepted and donated to a charity. So here's the deal for now. WSI would like to extend an invitation to SoxTalk members to join us at our patio party on Saturday evening, May 26 vs. the Devil Rays. The cost for the patio party and a lower reserved seat is $51.00. I'm leaving it up to Mike or his representative to contact our site's representative whitesoxwilkes about setting up the softball game. This came after we'd designated this as WSI-Fest, but I consider this to actually be COTC III. I hope SoxTalk has a big turnout for this. Any questions or comments, email or PM me at WSI. Questions related directly to pricing, ticket availability, etc. should be directed to Stephanie Furlan: [email protected]. To print out the flyer, go to this link: Link. We at WSI hope to see a lot of you there.
  4. QUOTE(Walker2Baines @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 09:18 PM) I agree that the $30 just for the party is a bit steep. I mean it's not like they are serving filet mignon or anything like that. Well, now that it's closed, I'll just note: 30 bucks = 5 beers.
  5. A couple of things crossed my mind that I emailed Kurt about, and he just got back to me, so I'm passing it along both here and at WSI: 1) Please do not try to phone in orders. Phones are ringing off the hook as it is, so please either fax or mail in your flyer. 2) The discounted price for a patio ticket if you already have a ticket to the game is $30.00. If you email Kurt (see below), he'll get you into the right channels. 3) If you have any other questions that Alex (Heads) or I can't answer, please email Kurt Hasenbalg: [email protected].
  6. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Mar 3, 2006 -> 12:18 PM) Just waiting on the Sox. The second it lands in my inbox I'll post it. Looks now like we'll be waiting until next week since yesterday passed w/o a flyer. I imagine those guys in group sales have their work cut out for them this year.
  7. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Feb 27, 2006 -> 09:48 AM) I got another question. I wouldn't mind going to this, but I'm only 20. Do you have to be 21 to go? All that means is that hypothetically you get unlimited pop instead of unlimited beer.
  8. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Feb 17, 2006 -> 02:34 PM) Kurt just replied and said flyers should likely be ready nezt week. Here's an update. I got an email yesterday from Kurt, and he now says the flyer should be ready next week.
  9. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jan 16, 2006 -> 12:07 PM) Sounds to me like this was her choice, not the Sox pushing her out the door. I've been sitting on this waiting to hear from Nancy, but since the news is out, I'll tell you what I know. I talked to her in December, and she said that she was requesting days only for a couple of reasons: 1) the drive home late at night was starting to become a real bother to her; 2) she feels that the people who come to the park are more "her crowd." The last time I talked to her, she had sent in a counter-offer to the Sox that she felt they would accept. Apparently they did.
  10. FYI, I received a final count from Kurt today: 205.
  11. QUOTE(CubsSuck1 @ Aug 29, 2005 -> 06:09 PM) Anyone else in section 100? If you were sent tickets in Sec. 100, you should call Kurt Hasenbalg immediately. I think there are still plenty of available seats in Sec. 105. Dare I mention WSI? Someone over there had that problem and the Sox straightened it out.
  12. QUOTE(alexgtp @ Aug 26, 2005 -> 11:54 AM) i sent in my check last week on wed priority mail. And the check still has not been cashed and still no tiks.. Ahhh Does anyone know who i can talk to to see if i got the form in in time.. I put in for 8 tiks.. if i dont get to go there will be a lot of disappointed white sox fans in my camp and alot of them pissed at me.... There is a lag time between when the orders are received and processed. If they got your stuff, they'll be processing it. I'm seeing Row 15 as the highest seats for people who have reported in at WSI where they're seated, and there are over 30 rows in the section, so you're not going to be disappointed. It's a Thursday against the Royals, so I'm sure tickets aren't in high demand.
  13. Just a reminder: You can still get tickets for the patio party, but there is no guarantee at this point that you will be able to sit with the rest of the group, although you'd probably get seats in the same section, at least for the time being. So if you decide you want to come, don't think you can't.
  14. QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 18, 2005 -> 12:30 PM) Today is the deadline to order to sit in the same section. I'll contradict you somewhat on that, Steff. I exchanged emails with Kurt on this very topic. TOMORROW is the deadline to guarantee a seat with the group. Other tickets may be sold in the same section after tomorrow, so there is no guarantee that persons ordering after tomorrow will be with the rest of the group. As of this morning, there were 110 tickets sold. So my advice is, if you want to guarantee a seat for the game with the rest of the group, fax or call in your order if possible by tomorrow.
  15. Here's a suggestion that I sent to Kurt late yesterday: One major problem with the date is that schools (high schools and colleges) are in session in September. Most colleges are out by mid-May, so my proposal is that we make this an annual event, and we shoot for the last half of May as the date we do it. A couple of things to consider: 1) Rates are higher for patio parties from June 1-August 31. 2) Weekdays are generally cheaper than weekends (depending on whom we're playing). Anyway, that's a thought to keep in mind until group tickets go on sale next year. Right now I'd just be happy if we can get a guest for Friday's WCSF luncheon before Monday so we don't have to cancel....
