Eloy looks so much more comfortable up there than last year as a rookie. You can see it in his approach and the way he just lets the ball come to him and hits what is there. He did it in spurts last year, but he has pretty much looked like that in every AB so far this year. In complete control. And I don't know what to say about Lou B?b. The guy is just incredible. I have not witnessed a rookie on the White Sox that looked this impressive their first 6 games. I was around for Frank Thomas as a rookie but waaaay to young to know what was going on. Robert has way better plate skills than I thought he would at this stage in his career. He can hit to all fields with extreme power, can lay off some nasty breaking stuff, hit pretty much any hanger out there, and the jumps he gets in CF are as good as advertised. Very excited to see Eloy, Robert & Moncada for awhile.

That is some old school TOOL there. Not sure the song but definitely on Opiate.

Well said and couldn't agree more. The talking heads that want to make this ONLY about police don't understand what this is all about. This is about being SEEN and HEARD as an equal. White privilege has nothing to do with having more money or success. It is about being able to live a normal life because our skin is white and if your skin color is different you are viewed differently. THAT is what needs to be changed. And this is a problem across any political persuasion you align yourself to. The police is a small part of a larger problem, albeit a part that helps keep POC down. Police system was built to keep POC down. The whole system is setup to keep POC down. KW was also right that black people can't do this on their own. They need white people, Asian people, Hispanic people, etc. The more voices of different backgrounds is the only way things get changed.

Beat me to it. I feel like that is the part that most people that are protesting and refusing to wear a mask don't understand. It was never to protect you...it is to protect the people you interact with in case you are someone that is asymptomatic. All these Karen idiots refusing to wear masks at stores in public places just blow my mind. It is called PUBLIC health....meaning for the general PUBLIC. What you do in your own house is your own business but when you are in PUBLIC you should follow PUBLIC guidelines.

I am sure they will. Only one that has a chance not to is Baskin because she has the money, but she pretty much does the same crap as the rest of them. All of these people are horrible people.

Maybe I should have said the loudest. On both sides.

To be fair most of the left is the same just in the opposite direction. I myself am independent as well because I don't identify with either party anymore. I would prefer government more in the middle. A president that could talk to both sides and come up with compromise that could help out both sides. I don't get why all of a sudden everyone needs to be correct and it is my way or the highway. Trump pretty much epitomizes what government has become...hence he gets elected pretty easily. I felt Klobuchar was the closest thing to someone I can align with politically.

He would probably be richer if he just invested the money that he laundered in instead of creating all of the ventures that failed and went bankrupt.

Same here. My guess is even during the break they keep the sound recording....so after the 10 second ID they rewound the tape and pointed to Farmer to go. If you listen carefully MAYBE the cheers happen a second early? But I agree, you would never know the difference. Rodewald would have no reason to make up the story....so I would have to believe him.

ESPN: MLB looking at May start, all games in AZ, several changes
BFirebird replied to soxfan49's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Unfortunately it does. Once we get through this wave all summer sports can resume, but probably all with no fans. Economically most of the leagues make their money with the TV and advertising deals. -
I agree when Rooney and Farmer were together it was great. Farmer MUCH better color guy than PBP. I can't help think of '05 without thinking of some of Rooney and Farmer's calls. Quick Farmer story....I got to caddie for him once as a kid. He was a great guy, took time to talk to me even as a kid. He was especially enjoyable to talk to considering all I wanted to talk about was the White Sox. I think it was around '02 or '03. He was a very good golfer at that time as well...not sure how many times he played Olympia Fields CC, but he played pretty well for a guest. I wasn't as much of a fan of him with DJ, probably mostly because I think Farmer was better suited for color than PBP, but I will certainly miss his voice whenever regular life can resume. RIP Farmer, you will be missed by Sox Nation.

Baseball America All 30 Farm Systems Ranked
BFirebird replied to Tnetennba's topic in FutureSox Board
The Rays are unbelievable. They have lost Friedman (and I am sure he took guys with him to LAD) and Maddon (he was a manager but really got what they wanted to do down there) and they continue to do a fantastic job not only drafting, but finding value in players that no one wants. They have the #1 farm system and have still competed in AL East and WC over the last few years. It is really impressive. -
His first game no? Most guys have only been going 1 inning first time out.
-
Which is to be expected. If you come in the league and instantly spit on those then you are even beyond Trout.

I would say hold on to the luxury for this year and see where Collins is for backup role next year. Having a guy like McCann adds to your flexibility of using Grandal at 1B and saving his legs while still using his bat. If Collins shows he improves as a catcher then you might be able to get an even better return near the deadline for McCann for a desperate team.

I heard that interview as well. Even though it is the Cubs, I am surprised Crane Kenney keeps coming on to face the music of Cubs not being on Comcast yet. Unfortunately for them, I think they will have to cave and give the terms that Comcast wants unless they want to go past Opening Day.
-
Also pretty popular as a Cub too.
-
Jose Cardenal I believe. If I remember correctly first time I heard it.
-
For Price maybe?

I get that Schilling is a bit of a bag and I probably would not get along with him personally, but he is a HOF pitcher. Not voting for him makes no sense in my opinion.

Sox Sign Cishek; 1 yr, $5.25 mil + option (6.75, 750k buyout)
BFirebird replied to Heads22's topic in Pale Hose Talk
McHugh would be my choice. My guess is he is holding on to the thought of starting and will probably hold out until everyone says no. I think both Castellanos and McHugh could be guys you sign later if their market craters to short deals. McHugh you can sell on you are our long guy and first one up when someone needs a spot start or fails. -
He will need to adjust to become elite, just like everyone else. We don’t obviously know any of these guys, but I don’t see anything that Moncada & Eloy have done that shows they aren’t willing to and won’t adjust to what pitchers are doing to them and based on his MILB track record I am sure La Pantera is the same way. Having guys like Grandal and EE around will only help development IMO.
-
The 55 is from last year I believe before the adjustments. He will probably be a 60 FG says this year. Fangraphs article on the signing: https://blogs.fangraphs.com/white-sox-and-luis-robert-agree-on-50-million-extension/

Sox Officially Sign Edwin Encarnacion (1YR/$12M), Kodi Medeiros DFA
BFirebird replied to Orlando's topic in Pale Hose Talk
WAR is a good way to see how teams stack up, the Fangraphs depth charts WAR chart looks like it is pretty accurate power ranking of teams, the problem the article has is he didn't accurately do math. The Twins and Sox are a LOT closer than he portrays. They had a ton of career years last year that outperformed their predictions, everyone doing all that again is not likely.
