QUOTE(JimH @ Sep 16, 2005 -> 08:56 PM) At least Iguchi hit the ball hard but you have got to get a fly ball there. I realize it's Nathan, but still. Big time blame on Podsednik for not making that pitcher throw two strikes. You take until it's 3 and 2. Definitely agree with that. -

QUOTE(Felix @ Sep 16, 2005 -> 08:53 PM) And wait, if we lose, everyone is going to blame Ozzie for not pinch hitting for Pods. If they do they are dumb. The players make the plays...he is your starting left fielder and there wasn't that much on the bench to go to in my opinion. Yeah Anderson is a good hitter, but a high strikeout rookie hitter. Ozzie can only use what he has. -

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Sep 16, 2005 -> 08:50 PM) But he's hitting .360 in September. People have to take him for what he is. He isn't Grady Sizemore and for that matter he isn't even Kenny Lofton. He is an OBP guy who usually plays a pretty decent left field. As far as all these caught stealing, I don't think he is fully healthy yet. -

QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 16, 2005 -> 08:47 PM) I said in 1998 that Bonds and R. Henderson were the two greatest players of my generation. Since then, Bonds has had a pretty good run! However, I would say that ARod and Pujols are the two greatest players so far in the next generation of players. Henderson is another guy that was worth the price of admission. No one liked Rickey more than Rickey did but a hell of a ballplayer. And Arod may end up being the best ever, Pujols right behind him. -

QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 16, 2005 -> 08:44 PM) Yes, I think he's the best baseball player ever. He dominates the game like no athlete I've ever seen. I love watching every AB he has. Definitely the best of my lifetime. Probably 3 or 4th best all-time. Juice or no juice. -

Somebody mentioned it earlier but this has been as spot on as Hawk has been in awhile. Good criticism when needed and actually good commentating. When did Hawk become a real broadcaster? -

QUOTE(jphat007 @ Sep 16, 2005 -> 07:14 PM) It's getting a little ridiculous at this point. Which part...the hits right at them? Or the swinging at the 1st pitch? -

QUOTE(CYGarland @ Sep 16, 2005 -> 07:07 PM) Coop and Guillen look like they haven't been sleeping well lately. How could they? Their once beloved staff and defense is tanking it right now. Thats why they can't win. -

QUOTE(maggliopipe @ Sep 16, 2005 -> 07:02 PM) ole boy torii hunter over on the twins broadcast saying he hopes cleveland sweeps the sox and overtake the sox. also says if the sox make the playoffs, he's pulling for them 100%. So he wants both teams to make it? Or just full of s***? -
Whoa thats quite a promotion...a dozen donuts if they get 12 hits? Good thing they don't do that in Boston or NY, Krispy Kreme would be out of business by July.
-
QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 09:05 PM) Guys does it really matter how we win, so long as we WIN? A win is a win as far as I am concerned.
-
QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 09:04 PM) I love scoring 9 runs against the worst pitching staff in the majors with your number 2 guy on the mound. And then we have to sweat it out in the 9th because he decided to s*** the bed. LOL...Matt Stairs, the professional hitter makes a lot of guys s*** the bed.

QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 09:02 PM) I thought I heard both him and Crosby would be back by the end of the year. Crosby might be a stretch...he broke his leg.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 08:50 PM) I don't think you can say that until you see what happens. Politte's been good against Lefties this year too. (As has Jenks, for that matter) I love me some Dream Politte!!!!
