  1. I don’t disagree with that. With his K rate if he hits over .250 that would be a big step. It just seems he is loading his weight better and looking more on balance. At least the few times I watched. Even on his outs his mechanics look a little different. Could just be me.
  2. Is it just me or does Yoan look way more balanced at the plate than last year? I swear even when he was hitting well last year it looked like he could fall over after making contact.
  3. Thanks guys. I look forward to see if Moncada can take a step forward this year offensively and jump start this team.
  4. Admittedly I haven’t seen much of ST this year, mostly out of frustration from the Machado debacle, but how has Moncada looked at 3B? Has he adjusted well?
  5. Yoan with a RH double. Good to see. Swung early in the count too.
  6. I agree he has looked pretty good. Frustratingly though there is no gun on webcast. Interested in how hard he is throwing.
  7. I completely agree. This is what makes Moncada maddening to me. When he is swinging it really well he hits to all fields, when he starts to get pull happy he does not stay with the ball well. Maybe having someone like Eloy will help Yoan stay on the ball more.
  8. This. It would be nice to see the Sox start to develop the out of nowhere guys. Can't rely on all top level talent.
  9. This is good news. Especially early in the spring.
  10. Great new thread title.....that movie was on the Golf Channel last night.
  11. This is true. When you are on base more often, you give yourself more opportunities to knock in more runs. Cubs were awful last year with runners in scoring position to begin the year....but they finished the year top 10 in runs scored partly because they were on base so often and had more chances to score. http://www.espn.com/mlb/stats/team/_/stat/batting/sort/onBasePct/order/true 13 out of the top 15 teams in OBP had records above .500. And the 2 that don't (Texas & Cincy) were bottom 10 teams in pitching.
  12. Very well said. You expressed my view of the situation better than I could ever say it!
  13. The first time I read it I just assumed they were speculating that it COULD be there, not that it IS in there. I don't believe they would know this information for sure either.
  14. He was pretty brutal last year....on top of being an asshat.
  15. It doesn't make sense to me either as being accurate. I also don't get who would leak that if it wasn't Machado....but Lozano calling them out on it doesn't lend me to believe his camp did. The whole thing is getting ridiculous.
  16. Very true. But we also don’t know if those numbers are real.
  17. Lots and lots of smoke. Let’s hope it turns into a fire tomorrow.
