I agree with this, but have to admit I was on the other side of the argument earlier. I though Ricky was good for this situation but after seeing all the bunting, bad managing, etc...I think it is time to get a real manager and Girardi would be perfect. Not so sure he would want to come or if the Sox even have that on their radar but I think Joe is one of the best out there and can’t believe he doesn’t have a job.

8/21 - Sox vs Twins, 7:10, WGN (Kopech Debut)

I will be there as well and hope for B, but I can definitely see A if he can't control his emotions. -
This is exactly how they won the claim. Pretty much standard procedure because even if they don't get him they block anyone else from getting him. This kind of stuff has happened for years without really getting reported on.
-
Gio definitely looks better right now than Reynaldo. Have a good finish to the season and start fresh next year. If he can somehow become a 3/4 it would be good based on what we have seen from him this year as a whole.
-
I don’t know if it is because of his height or what but I think he has problems repeating his motion and having a consistent release point. That is why on back to back pitches you get such variance. At least that’s what it seems to me as a non-scout.

It is going to be interesting what they do with Rodon. I really want to keep him but how long do you try to keep him before trading?
-
Definitely a hammy. It’s too bad.

Bunting with the fastest guy on either team on 1B.....is Renteria managing the Rays? I will take it. -

Complete 180 from last night's ABs. Does he just not see some pitchers well or something? Doesn't even look like the same guy. -

Bunting for hits is fine. It is bunting to move guys over and a waste of an out. -

I hate bunts. I was at the game last night and Ned Yost had a guy bunting in the 3rd inning. I couldn't believe it....3rd inning in a game between 2 of the 3 worst teams in MLB. Let the kid swing the bat. -
If Moncada can get his K's to Baez's level that would be helpful. I didn't realize how close of a comparison it was for first full year until I saw it mentioned on this thread. I will take Javy Baez year 3 for Moncada in year 3 if he can improve that much. Let's see if he can maintain the mid-20's K-rate. His walk rate has spiked as well....he is getting less of the outside ball called a strike it seems lately.
-
Moncada crushed that thing.

I thought Avi had no chance based on positioning and route.
-
As Hawk would say...he missed the cookie.
-
Oh I definitely don't blame him. I am impressed that he still has the patience to continue to use his ability to know the strike zone.
-
Yoan thought that the ball outside was going to be strike 3 when the count was 2-2...he hesitated.
-
Rodon looks like he is on cruise control. When I was at the St. Louis game a few weeks he looked very much in control like today, but not as dominate. When he pitches like this he makes pitching look easy.

Pollock is 31? I would have guessed 28. Must be all the missed time with injury.
-
Hope so. And I agree fathom, need to hold on to him at this point I think. Not really sure what you have. Could become JD Martinez for all we know.
-
It would be really nice if this power stroke he has had is more than a hot streak and he actually figured something out. Hard to know yet with all the injury interruptions but hope this continues.

I really hope this crap doesn’t effect him. And I agree that Renteria should be wearing out the umps until it changes. -
Getting that OBP into that .320 range (or higher) is a key for him. He should continue to get plenty of power - both doubles and HR, but he needs those walks to offset the strikeouts.
-
Good to see his RC+ is over 100. Moncada is trending up.
