The only guys on the team that should really be stealing are Moncada and Anderson. No idea what the thought process on that steal was. -

Davidson definitely looks like a ML hitter. With the power he has...if he can hit .250ish he can play in this league. -
Ahh..forgot about him.

The difference being Kopech and Moncada could be stars..but yeah that is pretty incredible that the Eaton trade already has 2 guys that should play key roles in the rotation (Top 4 at least) and 1 that is knocking on the door. Even Rutherford has been doing well. Some of these guys are going to fail, but so far this year MiLB has been fun to follow. For those of you with MiLB subs...what is the damage and are replays available to watch if you can't watch live?

I would agree with this...at worst your 1st guy off the bench that can play all over the diamond. -

This. I only concern myself with Moncada, Anderson, Giolito and Lopez. And somewhat Davidson because he could be a bench pop, DH or maybe some trade filler if he continues to play well. -
Can you imagine if all 3 guys from the Sale trade make it to the bigs? And if Basabe is a starter that trade would be ridiculous.

Agreed...site looks great on mobile. Great work guys!

Finally a game where there was some actual offense. Moncada has been swinging a good bat since OAK series. Also...Eloy is the bessssssss. Love the new board, btw.

QUOTE (Scoots @ Apr 18, 2018 -> 04:26 PM) Our run producer produces. Beautiful hit there. So nice to finally be hitting with RISP again. Even as a bad team they are due for some hits with RISP....hopefully it can last for a little bit. -

Maybe Hector should enter the rotation...at least he can get outs and some punchouts. -

QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Apr 18, 2018 -> 03:13 PM) please don't bunt. Should be said always. Bunting is never the answer unless trying for a hit. -

QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Apr 18, 2018 -> 03:10 PM) I had the A's being a surprise team this year before Puk went down, I think they're a pretty solid team. I agree...the AL West top to bottom is solid. The AL Central.....ehhh not so much. -

QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Apr 18, 2018 -> 03:03 PM) Wasn't Matt Olson picked right after Keon Barnum? Right before Barnum. Winker was right after. -
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 18, 2018 -> 08:23 AM) It really can’t be that low...as he’s already putting up average or slightly above average big league offensive numbers for his position. Engel, sure. His fangraphs Scouting hit grade is that low.....with the potential of 60. https://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playe...amp;position=2B

QUOTE (DirtySox @ Apr 18, 2018 -> 08:33 AM) Updated Fangraphs draft rankings. https://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/updated-201...fhw4SFc.twitter Beat me to it...just about to post this. I like their top 4 have 3 position players in it....we really need a position player.

Great article. Watching this team grow in A and a little in AA is a lot of fun to watch. I know all these guys won't pan out, but it is fun to watch and see which ones do.

Good AB by Moncada. -
QUOTE (Dunt @ Apr 17, 2018 -> 04:14 PM) Couple of things in regards to Moncada's batted ball data: -His Z-Contact% and Contact% are basically the same as last year -He's hitting the ball much harder this year, he jumped from 36% last year to 51.9% this year -Biggest differences from last season are that he's seeing a 10% increase in first pitch strikes and a 12% decrease in contact outside the zone SSS, but I would expect some positive regression pretty shortly from Moncada. I think the problem so far has been that he is getting in a hole quickly and then going after pitches out of the zone and missing when he is down in the count. I think it really is as simple for him as adjusting his approach a little, but adjustments are usually the struggles of young hitters. Once he realizes that he's going to be seeing the best pitches of the AB early in the count, he will starting attacking more and when the pitcher responds and throws less strikes, that's where his eye will be important. I'm frustrated like everyone else, but his batted ball data tells me a lot about what's going right now IMO. This is good stuff here...well done. I agree with everyone it is an approach issue....swing at a few first pitch fastballs, get some hits or at least hard hit balls and pitchers will change their approach and he will get ahead in more counts. He is young, while it is frustrating, the talent is there and I think he will figure it out.

Great to see most of the guys off to good starts. Anyone know anything about Palka? Could he push his way to majors this year?
