  1. Just turned it on....was Sale effectively wild tonight? Looked at the box score and he seemed to throw a lot of balls..but 11 Ks? Good to see Dunn with a 2B & homer.
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 10, 2012 -> 08:19 AM) The talent drop off between Texas and Cleveland is just amazing. You aren't kidding. Aaron Cunningham in the 8 spot is a little less intimidating than Mike Napoli in the 8 hole. To give us an idea of how good the Sox pitching could be..lets see what Texas' lineup does the next week or so. They exploded last night for Darvish.
  3. De Aza..unlike Rios calls off people in CF. I like it.
  4. Do you think the K's have something to do with our guys not used to going deep into counts (minus PK and Dunn)? If that is the case, it will probably continue for a little while until they figure out how to be better deep count hitters. Hopefully if Manto is preaching this, he is being patient with the K's. A few things to think about with this. Even with the K's, we have been getting into team's bullpens, which with Texas isn't necessarily a good thing, but it could be with most teams. Guys will need to adjust to this, so that is probably part of the reason for the runs scarcity. I have, as I by some of the posts others have as well that going to the opposite field is preached...which I like as well. Lastly, I believe this patience and philosophy will pay off at the end because of 2 reasons. 1. The deep counts will get into the bullpen and you will see some lesser pitchers in the 5th & 6th 2. Once the scouting reports go out, you could see some 1st pitch fastballs later in the year and you can jump on that Just some thoughts.
  5. QUOTE (TitoMB @ Apr 9, 2012 -> 08:08 PM) Is it still the "CSN Multiview presented by U-Verse?" Yeah. I find that pretty strange myself.
  6. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Apr 9, 2012 -> 07:59 PM) That's it for Sale, outstanding start IMHO. 6 2/3 3 Hits 2 BB 5 Ks 1ER I would take that every 5th day.
  7. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 9, 2012 -> 07:58 PM) I might like it if I had a 70" tv. Then you can see multiple things.
  8. Multiview is pretty bad IMO. Hard to really see anything, let alone multiple things.
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 9, 2012 -> 07:57 PM) Seems like it might be time for the bullpen to get involved soon. Reed & Thornton starting to throw.
  10. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Apr 6, 2012 -> 03:23 PM) For all the b****ing and complaining and whining, we're down 1 run to the best team from the AL last year. It's not THAT bad. Definitely not. And to add to that it might not look like in the stats with all the K's, but I like the more patient approach to the plate. It might take some time to get used to a completely different approach of just swinging from your heels every AB and Winters has been terrible to boot.
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 6, 2012 -> 03:14 PM) This would be a great spot to use Fukudome This. That is the only thing in this game that I think Ozzie would have done to affect the game. But his lineup might have been something crazy anyways with AJ hitting 3rd or something stupid. Not to bring his name up.
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 6, 2012 -> 03:08 PM) It seemed pretty obvious it was going to be Santiago as the closer Yeah I know..but there was still some intrigue. I had picked up Santiago for my Fantasy team because I believed he was going to be as well.
  13. I guess Thornton isn't the closer either..warming up in the 8th.
  14. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 6, 2012 -> 03:02 PM) Mike Adams in the 8th I believe Ah yes..good call. I forgot they got him.
  15. QUOTE (Cali @ Apr 6, 2012 -> 02:58 PM) So game ovah? Or do the Sox have a comeback in them? Do the Rangers go Uehara, Nathan? Or leave Ogando in there? I don't like our chances against Ogando unless PK is up there.
  16. QUOTE (Reddy @ Apr 6, 2012 -> 02:55 PM) that total is umpire-induced. Agreed. Some guys have expanded their own strike zone to compensate for what Winters was calling.
  17. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Apr 6, 2012 -> 02:52 PM) Danks gets a C+ for his outing, shouldn't start next inning. Based on what?
  18. QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Apr 6, 2012 -> 02:51 PM) I'm at work, following the game through this thread. I can't tell what's really going on with all of the sarcasm and whining. Just the usual Opening Day overreactions. Overall I would say they have looked pretty good. Worked some counts, struggled with RISP, and Mike Winters has been terrible behind the plate.
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 6, 2012 -> 02:48 PM) I think the Reds are fantastic this year, and Phillies should be real good. I'm just stunned at how awful so many teams look on paper. Where did all the talent go? To the Kentucky Wildcats or Miami Heat? The thing that scares me with the Phils is can they score enough runs? Nats could make some noise in that division if Storen can come back alright and make that bullpen a strength.
  20. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 6, 2012 -> 02:45 PM) The two best teams in all of baseball, IMO, are the Rangers and Angels. Detroit 3?
  21. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Apr 6, 2012 -> 02:44 PM) Man Texas has a good lineup. This. Danks has looked pretty good though. A few too many mistakes to a great team but overall very good.
  22. I mean really..Viciedo could not have hit that if he even tried.
  23. That was NOT a strike on Tank. Where has the inside/outside corner been for Danks? As much as I would like to complain about our ABs...the strike zone has been a joke.
  24. There is your 1st...Don't stop now boys. Rally officially killed.
