  1. Great read. I can totally see the Beckham standing taller thing. I didn't notice the Q tapping though. Nicely done and great examples to other players.
  2. I hate those freaks next door.
  3. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 12, 2011 -> 02:38 PM) I refuse to believe that A-row wasnt juicing at some point. A good friend of mine caddied for Chris Riley a few years back at the BMW and somehow the White Sox came up during the round and pretty much said that Rowand was a juicer for sure. I believe they were friends or something. I know completely random story..but your belief even without the obvious physical tells has some merit in my book.
  4. Alright Matty...lets keep up the good bullpen today. Don't let the bad bullpen out today.
  5. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Apr 8, 2011 -> 09:55 PM) Eat that, Teahen haters. I have no problem with him..he is just overpaid for a 4th OFer/Utility IFer.
  6. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Apr 8, 2011 -> 09:51 PM) But, the intangibles! The grindiness! Everything else is irrelevant. Hopefully he will be hitting 8th soon once Dunn gets back. I will take him as an 8th hitter.
  7. QUOTE (lostfan @ Apr 8, 2011 -> 09:45 PM) He's one of like 10 players in the majors that it's even a question that he makes it to second. And 3 of them are named Molina.
  8. Quentin looks really comfortable at the plate. Do the Rays as a team even have 6 doubles?
  9. Just a random thought during the commercials. So..on a day when Rios needs off who plays CF? Lillibridge? Pierre?
  10. Cliff Lee gave up 6 runs today. Every pitcher has bad outings...and I wouldn't put this one on Danks. I would put it on Ozzie leaving him out too long..especially in April.
  11. I have to agree...that is terrible managing. Putting your player in a position to fail.
  12. QUOTE (LVSoxFan @ Apr 7, 2011 -> 05:10 PM) Great all-around game. Pitching. Defense. Timely hitting. Bullpen. Stolen bases. Double steal! Just got back from it but DAMN IT WAS COLD. DAMP cold. Just got back as well..screw the weather people and their 50 degree prediction for today. EJax was dominate. Commanded the whole plate and timely hitting won this game. Nice to see them get some wins with 0 home runs.
  13. The Sox seem to have a great approach at the plate today. Making Carmona work and hitting it where he is pitching it. Let's hope this becomes a habit.
  14. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Apr 1, 2011 -> 02:56 PM) BOOM! Goes the dynamite?
  15. I was going to ask about the other 2 teams...I thought I was missing something when crossing out keepers. There is some pretty good talent still available.
  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 21, 2011 -> 11:31 AM) Especially if Humber is taking a spot start or two, you have to go with 12 pitchers in case he implodes. I'd say it becomes Marquez or Infante. Infante has gotten outs in the bigs but has been crappy this ST, Marquez has been better this ST. That was the other thing he mentioned in the interview. He thinks they will go with 12 pitchers.
  17. QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Mar 21, 2011 -> 09:25 AM) Coop was going to be on with Mully and Hanley this morning after 8:30. Anyone hear him? I listened on my way into work this morning. Nothing out of the ordinary. One thing interesting he said..which is not a good sign if taken literal. He said that they have to go back to square 1 with Jake, get him ready for 1st round of the playoffs. Pretty much he said they are unsure of where the injury will take Peavy from here. They are going to rest him for a couple days, see where the pain is and then start strengthening his shoulder. From the sounds of it, PTAC is right as far as the injury, but no one really knows how long he will be out. Coop also said Humber will start until Jake is ready.
  18. Sorry guys, haven't been around much. Asleep at the wheel here. Beckham Basher's Keepers: Miggy Cabrera Matt Kemp Justin Upton Jon Lester Josh Johnson
  19. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Dec 8, 2010 -> 09:53 AM) It's 12/12/6.5, then he gets a million a year for next 7 years. Wow that is Sox friendly. Now let's get a bullpen!
  20. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Dec 7, 2010 -> 12:02 AM) After last season's second half bullpen meltdown and the 2007 season, only having 3 relievers (I'm not counting Pena as "quality") and two of them being Sale and Santos, that's a bit scary. If those four guys ALL pitched to their abilities, then you're not quite so worried. But the last time that happened was 2005 and the first half of 2008. And that's making another big assumption you don't need Sale as a starter at some point. And projecting Infante into the bullpen when we're going "all in" might be asking for trouble, although it's better than spending money on Octavio Dotel or Kyle Farnsworth, etc. So still really torn on the Lee + bullpen help versus Konerko argument. OFC, would love for money NOT to be the deciding factor, but when has that ever been the case with teams outside of NY and usually Boston? This is starting to concern me as well. With Putz now out of the mix, how much is JR willing to spend on some relievers? Who will be the 5th starter for Peavy...who will be out into who knows when. I understand going after PK...being his favorite player and all but at what cost? Having PK won't matter when your team cannot nail down games in the 7th, 8th or 9th.
  21. Not sure if this question was posted somewhere else....but I swear B & B said we would lose a pick if we sign Konerko. Would the Sox really lose a pick if PK signs? How could that be if we offered him arb? Do we lose it because he declined arb? I was totally thrown off by this...and it really didn't make much sense to me.
