  1. QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 11, 2010 -> 02:14 PM) 1-2 pitch to Soriano should be in the dirt, always. At worst some sort of pitch that has movement away from him.
  2. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Jun 11, 2010 -> 02:02 PM) They were talking about it on the SCORE this morning. Thanks. Interesting decision on his part. Did they say if any Sox were out with them?
  3. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Jun 11, 2010 -> 02:01 PM) The Riot has fewer walks than Ramirez in 35 more AB's Wow. I would not have guess that. 10 Walks for the Riot? Even Soriano has 21.
  4. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Jun 11, 2010 -> 01:56 PM) If Wells gets hit hard...we are know he can pitch like s*** and still retire the next 15 hitters....I wonder what the response will be as he was seen out at 3 AM with the Hawks last night. He was out with them last night until 3AM? Did someone have pics of this or something?
  5. That's alright....we got 2. I have a feeling with the way you guys were talking about the wind this could be a softball score game.
  6. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Jun 11, 2010 -> 01:53 PM) Is that twice in three days that Konekro went first to third on a single....I am watching online game tracker so I could not actually see it.....oh 3-2 2 outs runner going. I was actually wondering the same thing. I thought maybe Marlon Byrd fell down or something.
  7. With the wind blowing out...any question if Andruw's uppercut swing will be in full force?
  8. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Jun 10, 2010 -> 02:38 PM) What an effort for Johnny Danks, 7IP, 1 HIT ball game! Impressive.
  9. This is kind of random, but has Alexei's defense improved? According to Fangraphs his UZR is 2.8, 2nd in the AL behind Scutaro. Or has the SS position just gone to crap?
  10. Before those last 2 doubles...was his last XBH in April?
  11. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Jun 10, 2010 -> 02:13 PM) Here is the full article, I guess it sounds better but still: http://blogs.suntimes.com/whitesox/2010/06...g_scenario.html I will give him the benefit of the doubt only because it just seems like he wants to play for a winner. I know he is a big reason why we are struggling along with our 2nd and 3rd hitters being so bad that they have to bat 5th or 6th and 9th, but ultimately he is a competitor. He is probably just venting some of his own frustrations and projecting them a little.
  12. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 10, 2010 -> 02:00 PM) After the first inning, the Sox have been swinging very early in the count to avoid getting themselves in 2 strike situations where Scherzer will K them. It would be an effective strategy...if you could actually hit him early in the count. Instead it's just making his innings go faster and take fewer pitches. It would also be an effective strategy if you had guys who can actually consistently get hits, which we cannot.
  13. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Jun 10, 2010 -> 02:00 PM) Detroit sucks too. Minny is going to run away with this division Agreed. I went to the game that Thornton got lit up, but was still not that impressed with the Kitties. Minnesota is just too good. Also, there were these annoying Tiger fans in our section that kept chanting "eat 'em up Tigers, eat 'em up" Never heard that one before. Also, near the end of the game another moron starting chanting "Let's go Red Wings". I was like..wtf? Idiots.
  14. Of course the White Sox 1st pick in the 2nd round. Guys on MLB.com..."I love when these picks come out of nowhere." Or something like that. Leave it to the Sox.
  15. As we rapidly get closer to the Sox pick...who are the best available?
  16. Just out of curiosity, how do you guys know so much about these prospects? I love baseball and try to follow it a little in the minors, I get most of my info from you guys on that. :-) But do you guys just read BA and other sites about these draftees?
  17. Don't know much about him...but from what everyone is saying...looks like a good choice to me. Better than what we were projected to take. Hopefully we don't mess him up. :-)
  18. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 12, 2010 -> 02:29 PM) This is one of the most lop-sided strikezone I've seen in awhile. Pavano was getting calls all over the outside of the plate, Danks and Santos arent getting calls right over the middle of the plate. Shoot, Pierre K'ed on one that went by his shoulder. If that is the case..I wouldn't be surprised to see a Sox hitter get in a shouting match in the 9th if there is a close call.
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ May 12, 2010 -> 02:18 PM) Yes, but neither guy K's a lot. Hard to complain about that with either of them. If we only score in 2 innings during these 2 games, I don't mind the sweep. This park with these conditions is brutal for our homer or nothing team. Agreed. Also, it's not like the Twins are scoring a ton of runs in these 2 games. For once the conditions are a reason for an offensive slow down.
  20. QUOTE (skidoochic @ May 12, 2010 -> 02:12 PM) The real question is WHY aren't the Sox hitting????? Is it Walker? Is there too much pressure on the guys (like Beckham)? (I know he should be able to handle it). I think for A.J. he just needs to be more patient at the plate. Any thoughts? This may sound stupid..but just bad luck? IMO...the hitting coach has little to do with it. We have a historic low BABIP because of bad luck and so many HR. Obviously they won't be a top 10 offense but if things even out they should be slightly below middle of the pack.
  21. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 12, 2010 -> 01:34 PM) AJ is a terrible #2 hitter. Actually he's just a terrible hitter, period. I think I saw an article not too long ago somewhere showing statistical analysis on how AJP was currently the worst hitter in MLB (this season). That could have also just been a dream.
