  1. I'm listening to the radio, should Theriot been tagging up there?
  2. I do not remember who it was...but someone in the Sox/Cubs predictions, predicted a Getz triple I believe.
  3. Lets see if Danks can make quick work of these punks.
  4. QUOTE (beautox @ Jun 16, 2009 -> 11:21 AM) I would say move him, the angels are once again desperate for an arm, and the mets need one badly as well if they're going to supress the marlins and catch up with phillies. Names i would consider: Wood, Arredondo, F-Mart, Holt, Flores I am pretty sure Jose could not bring in one of those guys, but Jose would be pretty filthy in the NL.
  5. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 15, 2009 -> 03:07 PM) I mean, how much respect can you have for a player? 1.potentially career ending injury-rehabs like crazy, comes back early and in better shape overall 2. realizes that his command isnt there and asks to be sent down 3. Works his ass off without a negative word in AAA on his stuff 4. comes back up and dominates. This says it all right there. How many people actually pony up and say, "You know what? I am not doing so hot, I think I need to go down to the minors and figure it out." Most players let their "pride" get in the way to do that. Players like Contreras are a reason to like sports.
  6. QUOTE (tommy @ Jun 11, 2009 -> 04:40 PM) So I started Jackson instead of Floyd in my Fantasy League. I started them both on my team...I hate when you have 2 pitchers against each other.
  7. Unfortunately with no PK...Ozzie's lineup is going to look like a Sunday lineup for awhile in the NL.
  8. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Jun 11, 2009 -> 03:41 PM) Did Omar Minaya trade Sizemore, Lee and Phillips for Colon. Talk about a bad trade. He did get Rocky Biddle andthat tall guy in return a year later.... That was just an awful trade. Shapiro just fleeced them on that. If I remember correctly, Phillips was the best piece of that trade at the time. Imagine if the Tribe had actually kept Phillips and he would have panned out there. They have been trying to fill 2B ever since moving him.
  9. I wasn't trying to be down on Danks, it just seemed to be a lofty comparison. After reading the last couple of posts I decided to look at the Minor League numbers of a Grady Sizemore and compare it to Jordan Danks and to my surprise they are fairly similiar. Granted it is a small sample size for Danks thus far, but I would have to change my view of his ceiling. I also know that Minor League numbers aren't set in stone that is what you will do in the Big Leagues but I have say the Sizemore comparisons is more accurate than I thought.
  10. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Jun 11, 2009 -> 03:19 PM) Hawk's going to start b****ing about what time the flight will arrive if this thing drags on any longer. He will b**** about it tomorrow when Suppan holds us to 4 hits over 8 innings, claiming the team was tired.
  11. The one thing I don't see in Grady Sizemore comparison is the home runs. Grady has way more power than Danks2 probably will ever have.
  12. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jun 10, 2009 -> 03:39 PM) It also comes down to the kids just not wanting to sign yet. Being drafted so late and thought so highly of, I could easily see Goodwin just going to college unless we offered him an insane and unrealistic bonus. Based on their track record, it's hard for me to get excited about the Sox signing some of these guys that are going to command a lot. But, at the same time, I do truly feel the Sox are moving in the right direction with the farm system and realize what getting these types of talent would mean. I really don't know what they'll do. But as you said about Thompson, unless they were just being careless, there's no way they draft him where they did without having a pretty good idea what it would take to sign him AND be willing to give what he'll ask for. I hope you are right because as someone said earlier, he was a compensatory pick, we don't get that back if he does not sign.
  13. I remember people on this board bringing up Goodwin before the draft. If he signs, it could be a big steal. The Sox definitely did what they said they would...go after some possible lead-off hitters. Given our current lack of players of their skill sets, I see KW making a strong run at Goodwin and Trayce Thompson. Watching Thompson's swing it reminds of Alex Rios.
  14. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 10, 2009 -> 09:34 AM) Yo, I haven't tailgated there since 2005, because I normally go on weeknights straight from work or have wifey with me. Anyway, planning to go to a 3pm game on a Saturday, and I was wondering what time the lots open up for tailgating, and if there are certain lots that do not allow it. Any help would be appreciated. -Steviekins I went to the 3PM last Saturday and showed up to tailgate at 11:30 in Lot G and we were let in. You also get the great spot on the West side of the Lot along the grass, which is perfect for Bags.
  15. QUOTE (longshot7 @ Jun 4, 2009 -> 01:28 PM) Slayer the band is your new God - show respect. I'll take the over.
  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 4, 2009 -> 01:26 PM) Ok, it'd be nice to get someone on base this inning. Or get the 1st 3 on....
  17. This is like the most excited I have been to see a Sox player since....ever.
  18. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jun 1, 2009 -> 04:14 PM) Yeah, it is really nice. I saw the Yankees play and Sox play there this year and park is real nice. It's a great place to watch baseball, great parking (which is pretty cheap) all around and easy access to the stadium from the expressway. Yeah, $9 is much better than $23. :-) Having the football stadium there makes tailgating easy as well.
