  1. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Mar 22, 2007 -> 03:24 PM) Thome Boom. 2-1 Sox. That is the grinder ball we all love.
  2. He is one minor league guy I am not that familiar with. What kind of stats does he have?
  3. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Mar 19, 2007 -> 03:49 PM) Royals have good positional player, but few pitchers. The upcoming amateur draft is loaded with talented pitchers. Kansas City selects 2nd. They're almost guaranteed to select a potential #1/#2. If Luke Hochever projects, and their selection this year turns into anything of value, the Royals could easily be the 2006 Tigers in three years. Definitely. The key there is the pitching. Tigers, Twins and White Sox all win/won with pitching. That will probably tell the tale for the Indians this year. They have the offense, but do they have the pitching? If teams invest in scouting, get lucky on the draft and develop players, any team can do what the Tigers did. Marlins do it the best out of anyone, and if could spend a little more, they would even be better.
  4. QUOTE(soxfan3530 @ Mar 19, 2007 -> 03:46 PM) Sweeney is the ultimate Sox killers the past few years. Luckily he's been hurt and missed us a lot. Travis Hafner has to be up on that list too! Definitely. I was at the game, I believe it was last year, where Hafner came up and just annihilated a pitch from the Flame Thrower (AKA Cotts), before he turned totally bad. It was one of the hardest hit balls I have ever seen. That and the Bonds homer he hit off of Garland a few years back. He hit it to Right Centerfield, three-quarters of the way up and it left the yard in about 2.5 second. It was ridiculous.
  5. QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ Mar 19, 2007 -> 03:34 PM) If last year was any indication, we should add Mark Teehan to that list. Teahen will light up more than just White Sox pitchers. KC has a couple of good young hitters: Alex Gordon, Shealy and Teahen. I guess all of those years in the cellar should produce some good players.
  6. Good start. Hopefully this is a good sign of things to come. Turn it up now and have it ride into the beginning of the season.
  7. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Mar 14, 2007 -> 04:08 PM) So good year, bad year, good year, bad year, who knows this year. He has Steve Trachsel disease.
  8. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Mar 14, 2007 -> 04:04 PM) Eduardo Perez mild strain of the right calf. So day to day like the rest of us?
  9. QUOTE(fathom @ Mar 14, 2007 -> 03:57 PM) I've heard this from numerous sources within/surronding the Sox organization, but they had absolutely no intention of bringing him back after last year. Then, they started getting paranoid about some of the big deals that teams were giving to guys, and they figured they'd lock him up in case they couldn't find anything better. In some ways, that Cubs/Soriano deal has really messed up our organization. The Cubs couldn't stand just ruining there own franchise..they had to start to ruin others.
  10. That is what we need to do more often...multi-hit innings. Instead of trying to hit 20 solo homers a game.
  11. QUOTE(chisox72 @ Mar 14, 2007 -> 03:31 PM) I Eduardo Perez!! This cramp situation is almost as bad as him falling on his way to first last year... I am not watching the game, but hopefully it is just a cramp. When they have any news on it..please update.
  12. We need lefty killer Eduardo Perez in this spot...get a couple of hits so he can bat with guys on. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Mar 14, 2007 -> 03:28 PM) Lets see how we do with situational hitting today. Not so good so far..Dye with the K.
  13. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Mar 12, 2007 -> 12:19 PM) I think he'll win the job and have a solid year. Just a hunch on my part. I hope your hunch is right.
  14. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Mar 1, 2007 -> 04:53 PM) Wait, when did Pinella's team take the field? He said Chicago's scrubs Not Chicago Scrubs.
  15. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Mar 1, 2007 -> 03:19 PM) Boone Logan relieves Haeger and has a 1-2-3 inning. Boone is unstoppable. Hopefully this will be able to be said during the regular season.
  16. Whoa..weird to follow a dual Gamethread. Thanks for the updates though guys.
  17. QUOTE(Chet Lemon @ Feb 28, 2007 -> 12:19 PM) anyone know for sure if i can listen to today's game on 670 online? I highly doubt it.
  18. Hopefully I can join this year...I was one of the last to join and was left off last year. 1) What format you prefer playing - Head to Head 2) Your relative level of experience - Very Experienced 3) Your league preference - Doesn't matter 4) Whether or not you are willing to be a league commisioner - If you are short I can definitely commish...have only done it a couple of Leagues.
  19. My dad is the reason I am a Sox fan. I grew up at the old park and the current one and wouldn't have it any other way.
  20. Thanks everyone for the updates...definitely makes me a little excited for some baseball. Cannot wait for pitchers and catchers to report.
  21. This looks like it is going to be another interesting night in Oakland. This place always provides the Sox with some weird games.
  22. What kind of a decision was that by Dye? Did Jacque Jones take over in right or what..that was horrible.
  23. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 15, 2006 -> 10:01 PM) Prancer would of played that into a triple. Easily.
