  1. This poll indicates two things: 1. I'm procrastinating on my 20-page Anthropology paper. 2. I'm anxiously awaiting KW's next big move.
  2. If the O's demand Count instead of Garland (in addition to Uribe), do you think KW does this deal? I don't think I would... I don't like how all the reports say the Sox might trade Garland OR Count...I wish we'd lock Count up ASAP. I really don't wanna lose him. I think he's a potential '06 Cy Young...
  3. I'm pretty proud of this thread. I'm usually the asshole who creates topics that have been already been posted. Not this time. Thank you, Ralph Malph.

  5. QUOTE(SEALgep @ Dec 14, 2005 -> 06:51 PM) Wow, if true, talk about another offseason shake up. Here's the exact quote... It is speculated down in Dallas that the White Sox are on the verge of sending Jon Garland and Joe Crede to the Rangers for Brad Wilkerson, Hank Blalock and a major prospect. Submitted by: Ralph Malph 4:17 PM CST, Dec 14, 2005
  6. Sorry, I thought I was in Trade Winds when I posted this. Please move. Thanks.
  7. Someone at ChicagoSports.com is talking about some deal brewing down in Dallas...Blalock, Wilkerson and a prospect for Crede, Garland? Anyone got any dirt on this?
  8. QUOTE(FGarcia34 @ Dec 13, 2005 -> 10:06 PM) Maybe I missed this or maybe I didnt feel like reading the 26 pages of bickering but why is it assumed that Garland is part of the deal? From the article on whitesox.com: Garland figures to earn in the $6 million range through arbitration, but could be replaced by Brandon McCarthy in the rotation if he was shipped to another team. Of course, the White Sox would prefer to move Orlando 'El Duque' Hernandez and his $4.5 million salary, along with a prospect, setting up one of the best rotations in baseball with Mark Buehrle, Freddy Garcia, Vazquez, Garland and Contreras. The idea of that rotation made me happy in the pants area. So why not ship Chris Young and someone else like Josh Fields for Javier Vasquez and keep Garland around until the end of the season? My pet peeve: People who want in-demand players for below-the-Mendoza-line scrubs (ie - Vazquez for Chris Young and Fields. Are you serious?)
  9. can someone post a video of this on here? i need to see it.
  10. Why do I feel like our standards for talent fell through the floor when we traded Damaso? I like the trade, but it sounds like the desperation of Soxtalkers for a lefty reliever is driving people to consider bottom-of-the-barrel talent. I'm waiting for someone to recommend bringing back Melido Perez and telling him to throw with his left hand out of the bullpen. Let's give a minor leaguer a shot instead of signing some 40 year old hack.
  11. On the Sox official website from an article by Scott Merkin: "For starters, the White Sox picked up a versatile left-handed hitter, with some pop off the bench, who turns 30 in June. Mackowiak, who earned $1.5 million last year and is arbitration eligible, has the ability to play every position but shortstop and catcher and provides a solid insurance policy behind Joe Crede and his two herniated discs at third base. His presence gives the White Sox a crucial opportunity to carry a 12th pitcher and protect against not only some of the big inning totals amassed by the starting rotation in 2005 and beyond but also Dustin Hermanson's ongoing offseason rehabilitation on his back, which Williams said Thursday was going well. The addition of Mackowiak, who hit .272 in 2005 and knocked out 17 home runs in 2004, also means the end of the line with the White Sox for outfielder Timo Perez and infielder Willie Harris. Both are expected to be non-tendered at the arbitration deadline. The move also could mean a new location for Ross Gload, with basically the fourth outfielder's spot the only roster opening remaining, and rookie Jerry Owens apparently a leading candidate to fill that void. " I like the way Merkin is thinking about the 2006 roster: 12 pitchers (assuming we sign or call up a lefty reliever), Anderson AND Owens making the team, and no Willie or Timo. Let's see what our farm system's got...
  12. QUOTE(WinninUgly @ Dec 4, 2005 -> 11:12 AM) You can pick up the entire playoffs on DVD fairly cheap on eBay as a free gift for buying something small (which makes the transaction legal). I bought an Ozzie Guillen baseball card and received the entire playoffs for $30 on DVD. There are a ton listed and I am sure the price will come down over time since they have been as high as $80. I never got to see the vids from 3E8, but if you need bandwidth for downloads, I have a ton (so we can share our personal White Sox diaries), just PM me. Entire playoffs on DVD, eh? What is this video called and why isn't it being marketed? Or is this some bootleg DVD that an E-Bay seller put together? However, I'm intrigued. Tell me more. My dream is to have a DVD with all twelve playoff games with Rooney and Farmer dubbed over FoxJagBag announcers. Lemme know.
  13. QUOTE(3E8 @ Dec 4, 2005 -> 01:46 AM) It was an outside source, not Soxtalk, that told me to remove them. I don't want to get Soxtalk or myself in any trouble so I'm not really going to fight this. Outside source, eh? Scandalous... Sorry for criticizing you Soxtalk. Sounds like the big fish are fryin' 3E8 like it's hot. If the Feds bust in on me for Soxtalk piracy, I'd save the videos to disk, put them in non-marked Ziploc baggies, and shove them up my ass to avoid being implicated in the 2005 White Sox Highlights Scandal. But that's just me.
  14. QUOTE(YASNY @ Dec 4, 2005 -> 01:43 AM) Obscure copywrite law? Get real. Would you risk your freedom, or a big fine? I just feel like people who'd bust someone for copyright issues might have bigger fish to fry than a bunch of us Soxnerds sharing baseball highlights. Until I read about the Soxtalk Piracy Scandal in the New York Times, I wouldn't worry about it. Unless it's the Sox who'd bust you, something I don't envison. Why would you alienate diehard fans like that? Wouldn't be Brooks Boyer's finest marketing hour... I just don't get it.
  15. Your videos were great, 3E8. Can I ask exactly why you were barred from distributing video of the White Sox magical 2005 season? Does Soxtalk not want Sox fans to share the love? Or are they feeling a little self-important in their need to enforce some obscure copyright law about distributing video? We can only speculate...
  16. What happened to White Sox Videos & Movies thread that had been pinned forever? Isn't one of you guys making month by month videos of da 2005 season (I think it was The Cheat that was doing these...I think). I can never get enough footage. Please keep postin' 'em.
  17. Is there any truth to the rumors about a DVD (or set of DVDs) which will include every playoff game in its entirety? Possibly with Rooney and Farmer dubbed over FoxJagBag1 and FoxJagBag2?
  18. So, there's good news and bad news: The bad news: My uncle passed away this morning. The good news: He was wearing his 2005 World Champion Chicago White Sox t-shirt when he died. Go Sox.
  19. QUOTE(ptatc @ Nov 23, 2005 -> 07:06 PM) This is not the type of injury you get from steroid abuse. Those usually involve tendon or muscle problems (contractile tissue). Thome's injury was a ligament. (non-contractile). You can't definitely say it's not but it's very unlikely. Thanks for some better input rather than "f*** NO."
  20. Does anyone think Thome was on the juice and maybe that has something to do with his injury and horrible '05 stats?
  21. only if we put him on da juice...maybe he'll heal faster if we do
  22. Can someone get a picture up of Thome rockin' a Sox hat?
  23. i wish the sox would make a deal so we'd finally have something legit to talk about. everyone playin' GM is boring...
