  1. alright alright... sorry about the extra 2 there... its 17 hits in 20.1 innings... thats according to ESPN!
  2. Munoz has already been sent down to AAA. JM said he would like to see him have more control of his Fastball. Loaiza is 3-1 with a 2.61 ERA this spring, hes given up only 217 hits in 20 innings... with 6ER's of those if i recollect he gave up 4 in one game... So yea hes having a pretty damn good spring, only one doing better is maaybe stewart.
  3. Yes, I have returned. And all is right again in the world! Good to see you got it working What was the trouble? Concerning White... I think this opens the door for either stewart (as a 3rd lefty out the pen) or Ginter (whos earned it too) to make the 25 man roster... thats if, and only if we eat whites contract... I dont see why we signed him to a major league deal... and loaiza and daubach to minor league deals...
  4. Hopefully clujer takes over again cuz I gotta go soon 93%....but I have a bad feeling it's not going to work. Dont u wanna be loved again? Good then make it work, damit.... you impatient audience is being made to wait! Sucks being a star eh?
  5. LOL, poor guy. My RealOne Player is 53% done downloading, so internet-willing, I will start my updates in about 15 minutes. Hurry back so i can profess my love all over again.... LOL
  6. Nardi was basically reasiggned and I don't think he really does anything in the organization. Its just the Sox way of paying out his contract or something. I don't think KW wants him close to any of our pitchers. O thanks the sweet baseball gods. One could argue that of all the decisions made by the human species over the last 50K years.... Firing Nardi from the Org would rate as a top 10 on the all time best decisions.
  7. Ah-oh... Colon pitching... and getting hit...
  8. WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hes still in our org?!?!?!?!?!? as a pitching coach??!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!? I thoguh he was being reassgined as a scout...

    Rauch

AJ Burnett would take a LOT more then rauch... AJ is the real deal.
  10. Cluger420.... where o where are my updates.... man, i profess my love to you, and you start slacking.
  11. Yeap. I remember a few years back (1996 or so) the game was held in Cleveland... they stuffed the box HARD that year... had 4-5 starters on the team...

    Rauch

Rauch hasnt really pitcher in a regular full season since 2000. Lets see if he can go to AAA and work out whatever is effecting his consistency. If he cant i say hes prime trade bait...
  13. WTF is the billy goat curse? Back in the early 1900's... some guy bought a ticket for, and tried to bring into Wrigley, a billy goat. The Cubs wouldn't not allow the goat to enter the stadium. The guy put a curse on the Cubs and they haven't been to the World Series since. Sam Sianis..... the owner of the BillyGoat Tavern in downtown Chicago..... was the man in question..... Or maybe it was his father. Either way, the connection is there. cool thats an intresting bit of triia...
  14. Yeap yeap. In dannys last 7 starts last year HE went more then 7innings 5 times while giving up no more then 2 runs each of those outings. Of the other 2 he gave up 2 ERS (3total) in 6.1 and the last one of the 7 he gave up 6 ERS (8 total) in 5.... In that span he lowered his era from 5.85 to 5.18 Thats why a lot of people have high hopes for Danny, including some higher ups in the organization. I believe that he did well in the second half thanks to the loss of the "nardi factor". Since nardi had the inate ability to f*** up even the greatest of prospects by his mere presence... I expect Wright to start slow (elbow troubles, sophmore jinx) but if his elbow is fwine i expect him to win 15+ with an ERA around 4.4-4.7 (not bad for your 4th-5th starter) To this day i have no idea why the hell he lasted here so long (nardi that is)

    The roster

o o o... i know why harris is going to make the team over miles... Hes one of KW's boys... from the second hes been traded for hes shot up the depth chart for NO REASON! Its either that, or we are enamored with his speed and work ethic... unfortunately neither gets the ball in play...
  16. Rios can backup CF just fine... Harris in CF scares me... he would work in case of a emergency though... By that i mean Rowands hurt, Rios has explosive diaherra and cant play, Borchy has a hangover and they managed to find harris in time for the game.... other then that i really dont wanna see him in CF... he doesnt have the arm for CF
  17. True... But he has a long history of not giving pitchers long contracts... and no one can fault the outcome. Blackjack, alvarez, fernandez. bere et al. All not given long contracts... all turned out to be busts or injured for there new teams... With that said, i think buehrle is differnt. IF all we have read here is true... and the only thing they are aprt on is that 4th year of the contract being garenteed.... DO IT! keep him here for the next 5 years... would be great to not worry about a #1 pitcher for the next 5 years... We have to take the risk if we want to try and build something here. I am sick of our team always rebuidling.
  18. But he controls the purse strings. Yea, but i bet the rest force him to stay within constraints... i doubt they want to take a loss on team.... Honestly, he is obligated to try and make the team profitable. But referring to the post that started this thread, I believe that if they would go for a chamionship, and achieve it, then the team would be very profitable for many years to come. What if he goes out and spends 25 mil per season extra? Is there a guarentee that will put fans in the seats? is there a guarantee that he will win a championship? I think hes done a fairly decent job so far. Now if hes smart enough realise he has a GREAT core of young players here in maggs, Crede, Buehrle, Garland, the entire bullpen... and signs em up... we might have success long term...
  19. But he controls the purse strings. Yea, but i bet the rest force him to stay within constraints... i doubt they want to take a loss on team....
  20. Lot of people forget that hes the chairmen of the team... but a lot of people own the sox... its not only his decision...
  21. If you want to make a $10M donation to the Sox, I'm sure JR and KW would be MORE than happy to apply those funds to the payroll and obtaining another player or 2. Just make it out to Jerry Reinsdorf. If i had that kinda disposable income... i would! But unfortunately as a college student i still have ramen as a major food grp.
  22. If Danny gets sent down to AAA, it'll be because he's not ready. He has not pitched enough this spring to warrent being sent down for any other reason. He's worked a few innings at far less than 100%, so I'm quite certain they're going to disregard his stats completely. I believe he'll have 2 ST outings before camp breaks, and if he is pain free, he'll be our #5 guy (since he doesn't throw much the first month or so, and we could use him in the pen as well). And yes, last year he won 14 games...but, keep in mind that he had an ERA over 5. I really like him as a pitcher, but to be honest, he should have far better numbers than that. It was his first season in the rotation, though, so this season he will have no excuses not to perform well. He finished off '02 on a high note (won like 7 of his last 10 games with an ERA under 4), so I hope he can ride that high and come back from his inflammation. I doubt they even send him to AAA, maybe extended ST but thats about it.
  23. WTF is the billy goat curse?
  24. He did in 2001, We made a huge jump in payroll, didnt get any results. Last year we were losing money... so the huge payroll dumps at the trading deadline... where KW got FLEECED in a few trades... The loss of income was also obvious in our drafting strategy last year. we didnt spend a lotta money on the draft, and that really agravated me... as we are usually very good about that. This year i believe that KW is on record as saying hes not using all his payroll flexibilty right now.... so he has room to manuver at the deadline incase he needs to add another player or 2 to make the strech run.
  25. I'm on board for that plan...
