So whos gonna blow this game for us? Defense? Marte? Wunch? Koch? Gordan? IF rick white even sniffs a baseball near the bullpen i'll have JM's head!

I agree with all of what you said... it was my hope he would end the year at AAA. then come up swinging next ST.
-
I hope he prefroms at a lvl where we can keep him... dont wanna carry anymore dead weight.

DJ is 39th in MLB for OBP. more then 100 pts off the lead. That should have been for lead off hitters, sorry... heheh, i figured DJ is a decent lead-off man. But a GREAT 2nd hitter.... would prefer someone with more speed to leadoff... like Yan...

Actually, with the other board down, it has been kinda nice. It's amazing how much work one can get done when not spending half the day on the boards. LOL LOL. I am outta school.... takin some time off. I am so bloody bored. Bought a super register... i hope it gets here soon... That should occupy me for a month or so... but i fear i'll be baned from the boards... as i'll go stat crazy again.

lol or maybe he will be that diamond in the rough and we will screw him up after three years .......and he wont be worth a s***..........lol....... OR! we could trade him to Oakland for a couple of wads of chewing gum (the flavor no one wants) and a 57 year old AAA pitcher with a 94mph heater on the verge of finally breaking thru.

Personally, i cant stand grits. god bloody aweful. Cream of Wheat + 2 teaspoons brown sugar.... HMMMM HMMM GOOD
-
If we sign him.... he'll lose 8-10 on his Fastball... and it would move in a straight line. He would also lose any control or command of his pitches he possessed... that us assuming his labrum holds together while signing the contract...

Were they good picks or bad? That wasn't the point. I definitely like Honel as a pick but wonder how Ring will translate to the Majors. Will he have big success or will he just be a solid setup guy? Relievers tend to have short shelf lives. Only very few have long careers. I hope he is one of them. But the point of my comment was just that it seems every prospect is hyped as throwing hard. Harder than they probably actually do. Hi, I throw 102 mph, and have a wicked 12-6 curveball. My changeup is nasty, and I have a wicked slider and a mean-ass sinker. I can occassionally throw a good screwball, and my knuckler is devastating. My name is witesoxfan. only 102? no thanks!

That and they just have a combined IQ equal to that of the grits I ate for breakfast... Well if you are going by the actually amount of grits you ate... thats a pretty high amount in even a tablespoon full

He does have family in Tampa and said that he wasn't going to manage the Mariners this year. He said he was going to go down to Florida. Seattle did the wise thing and gave him to Tampa, but as compensation, they got Randy Winn. Randy Winn isn't that bad of a player either. You watch out though....I say the DRays will be a contender in 2 years. Yeap. His rents live down here.... they are getting older, plus his kids and wife live here... and he now has a couple of grandkids (Believe they were on the way when he wanted to leave seattle) But the main reason was his parents. He felt that he wasnt there for them enough, and his mother fell ill last year. so he felt that playing 50% of his games at home (tampa) would work better for him.... He also has a clause in his contract that allows him to take a extended leave of absense incase of illness in his family.

Speaking of umps... I made this point at the other boards a long time ago. I honestly believe that the umps are "getting back" at the sox for the attack earlier this year. Just WAY to many bad calls. This is another area i think KW needs to address... send something to the league... its bulls***.
-
Actually i think there is a different reason... he got paid for his preformance at the dome... and like many players hes not quite as good away from its fast astro turf.

Resign.

Thats a pretty good plan... esp with Jose. Think we might be able to get better for colon at the deadline...

Good point. BUT! What percentage of baseball players are women, Asians, Irish, Hispanics, Muslims, Russians, Canadians, Icelandianas? Why is that in a sport that has so many Blacks playing, has so few in management positions? The point behind the policy is quite good. the premise being that if you force teams to interview minorities... inevitably one or two will be hired by impressing thier prespective employers... These may be individuals that may have had no shot at the job whatsoever... but they might now recieve the position by showing they are indeed qualified... note the MLB isnt FORCING them to hire minorites... just interview them

Couldnt have said it better myself. although would have cost a bit more then those 3 if giles would have been in that deal...
