  1. you cannot take away anything that Thomas has done for our organization. But honestly I am hurt by Frank's comments in a way. Growing up I saw Frank Thomas as a role model, but now after all that he has said it kind of shows you what his personality is and it gets you thinking about what kind of person Frank is off the field. After reading the article today Frank showed me his ego and how self absorbed he is. I can't believe he would not have thrown the opening pitch if he knew we were not going to sign him. I voted neither. I honestly don't know what I would do when he comes back. I think I would applaud him for the baseball player he is but off the field I just don't know. Say it ain't so Frank...Say it ain't so.
  2. Wow this proves it Frank is truely bitter. He has hard feelings toward Kenny Williams, Jerry Reinsdorf and the whole White Sox organization. You don't know how disapointed I am in Frank. He was a class act for all these years. He is truely someone that any sox fan admired. But seriously each interview he does it really is striking a cord where it is changing my perception of him. I respect what he has done but its not really helping his image these interviews. You read him go on to say "Whenever things went bad, who was the one guy they always came to? Who was the one guy they always came to when the (stuff) hit the fan for that organization? Me. Who always stuck up for the organization. Me. Always." He's gotten way to self centered from my point of view. I mean this is Frank's ego talking but its kind of gutrenching to read this stuff because as you are reading this you just want to say "Say it ain't so Frank...say it ain't so." Its damaging his reputation.

  4. is it at retailers yet or is it that you can only get it online?
  5. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Feb 20, 2006 -> 02:30 PM) White Sox fan's bitterness over Magglio's leaving is so puzzling. HE DID THE WHITE SOX A FAVOR. If he would have re-signed, the Sox would have come in second AGAIN. Its the principle of the thing. Maggs left under bad terms. I see what you are saying that he did us a favor by not signing but you wouldn't have said that if we didn't win the world series. Maggs felt that our organization wasn't concerned about winning. He did not want to play for ozzie guillen, and some of the stuff that he said was pretty low. So not only did he just disrespect Ozzie but he disrespected us and the white sox organization when he left.
  6. Is this because of Frank Thomas' attitude right now, or is it because he could not make it to the event?
  7. If AJ gets hurt Reinsdorf will put McMahon out of business. WHAT'CHA GONNA DO WHEN PIERZYNSKIMANIA RUNS WILD ON YOU?!!!
  8. well this kind of changes my attitude about Frank's support for our organization. He says hes not bitter but in a way he is. I agree with the Big Hurt Jerry should have atleast called him. But KW and Jerry see this as a business and Frank shouldn't take it so personal. This article has got me thinking. Are we ever gonna see Frank supporting the south side again? Is he gonna be there if we decide to retire #35? Part of me believes yes Frank will be there but I honestly thought Frank would leave in a better way then this.
  9. hows this gonna work? Isn't President Bush an Astros fan? Just like his Dad.
  10. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Jan 17, 2006 -> 10:19 AM) As for the Sox popularity vs. Cubs, you can tell the tides are changing. I would guess that if the Sox have a good year this year, and the Cubs tank it again, you will see a full on take-over by the end of the year, and the Cubs will be a complete joke to most people. I wouldn't mind going around chicago without seeing any cubbies around. but alot of cub fans are just bandwagon fans. If they start coming to Comiskey in greater numbers they well end up bringing all that wrigley baggage with them. I know Reinsdorf wouldn't mind his tickets sales going up but seriously I don't want cub fans appearing at our park throwing the ball back and running on the field anymore. Its giving us a bad rep.
  11. QUOTE(knightni @ Jan 14, 2006 -> 12:33 PM) I bet that she'll train someone. They won't get rid of an organist permanently at USCF. How much does an organist make?
  12. A day in my life on the North Side Years ago my first grade teacher explains to our class that she's a Cubs fan. She asks us to raise our hands if we were Cubs fans, too. Not really knowing what a Cubs fan was at the time but wanting to be just like the teacher, most of the class then launch their hands into the air like fireworks. All except a few others and myself. Teacher asks me why I decided to be different. I say, "Because I'm not a Cubs fan," "Then what are you?" "Why, I'm proud to be a Sox fan," my teacher is a little flustered now. She asks me why I am a Sox fan. "Well, my grandfather and my dad are Sox fans, so I'm a Sox fan, too." My teacher then goes on to say. "That's no reason, what if your grandfather was a moron, and your dad was a moron. What would you be then?" "Then I'd be a Cubs fan."
  13. I don't get it what was this with people saying he wanted to leave? QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Dec 28, 2005 -> 12:24 PM) "I love the city," Garland said during a conference call with reporters. "It's where I wanted to play, where I wanted to be. And I'm happy to be there." "It's something that I was going to do from the very start," he said. "I wanted to sign a long-term deal with the White Sox. I wasn't looking to break the bank." "From Day One, everybody got along," Garland said. "If we can start off spring training the way we did last season, we're gonna have a good shot." http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?i...ce=MLBHeadlines
  14. I got mine but wasn't there suppose to be like collector baseballs that came with it?
  15. I used to be a wrestling fan. I am a big fan of Hulk Hogan. I was at the bar when on the news a few days ago they had shown footage of A.J. knocking a guy down onto the mat then he signed home plate on the guys back does anybody know where they can find any pictures?
  16. Its really going to disgust me to see the Big Hurt in a Twins uniform or any other uniform for that matter. I never thought this would happen, I thought Thomas would finish his career as a White Sox. I hope that he does come back before retiring. That way he could end his career on a high note. I hope we see in the upcoming years #35 retired and hopefully a statue on our concourse of Comiskey Park.
  17. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Dec 2, 2005 -> 11:21 AM) Sorry if this was already posted. MoronisseyThis jackass is so full of s***. How did he get a job? I'm sorry but this s*** wasn't nearly as bad when Sosa left. They at least had "great" memories about him. This just disrespects Frank. To say that Frank is selfish is bulls***. He played with a ton of pain this year because he wanted to win with the Sox. Everybody has their faults. Frank is to honest sometimes but the media makes goes overboard and the stuff he says. This joke never takes in to consideration that Frank unlike some jackasses never took Steroids. He did it the clean way. My mom could write a better article about baseball and she doesn't even know almost anything about the sport. How can the media hate a player like this so much? Do you know the reason Frank wanted to become a Baseball player? Because his sister died of Leukemia. He said in his biography that he playing baseball would let him raise enough money to be able to cure Leukemia. He donates a ton of money to charities that try to Leukemia. Why isn't that talked about here? I agree this jackass is full of s***. No player on the Sox roster has ever gotten a standing ovation like Frank Thomas. He is one of the greatest hitters in our franchises history. For this asshole to say that we got rid of him like a broken down building to make way fir new condos is not just disrespectful to the Big Hurt, but the entire White Sox Organization and the Die Hard fans. I hold Frank Thomas with the most outmost respect. I respect him for staying with the White Sox organization his whole entire career when he could have left for more money. I pride in the fact that he hasn't taken steroids and remains one of the top hitters in the game today. Frank is a people person and when I met him during spring training at Electric Park, he was very open and willing to take time to talk to the fans. If its anyone who doesn't show respect to Frank Thomas its the media.

  19. I really don't know what to think. I'm going to miss Aaron Rowand, I'm glad we got Thome and we may get Konerko back. But I am a little upset about either losing Frank or Paulie. I really don't want to lose Frank because I wanted to see him finish his career with the Sox. But Paulie has been more consistant and less injury prone compared to Frank. I don't know what to think. Either way you look at it were gonna loose somebody.
