Just for fun - what's your post-draft Top 30?

Was wondering the same thing. Also McClure at 19 is interesting. -

I'm not a big believer in him as a major leaguer. I think his profile is the type that will dominate in A-ball, then hit a wall around AA. That said, he's been crushing it and I would be happy to be proven wrong. -
FutureSox will have their list out for mid-season in about a month. I did a quick and dirty T30, without doing a lot of research, and thought it would be fun to discuss. Here is mine, assuming all the high picks sign: 1 Eloy Jimenez 2 Michael Kopech 3 Luis Robert 4 Nick Madrigal 5 Dylan Cease 6 Dane Dunning 7 Zack Collins 8 Alec Hansen 9 Blake Rutherford 10 Micker Adolfo 11 Jake Burger 12 Seby Zavala 13 Luis Alex Basabe 14 Zack Burdi 15 Steele Walker 16 Jordan Stephens 17 Spencer Adams 18 Gavin Sheets 19 Luis Gonzalez 20 Luis Curbelo 21 Ian Hamilton 22 Lenyn Sosa 23 Tyler Johnson 24 Konnor Pilkington 25 Thyago Vieira 26 Laz Rivera 27 Lency Delgado 28 Jonathan Stiever 29 Joel Booker 30 Danny Mendick Just missed in order: Bernardo Flores, Alex Call, Yeyson Yrizarri, Jimmy Lambert, Kade McClure, Tito Polo, Ti'Quan Forbes Discuss!

A more recent scouting report with video on Rivera is here, from late April. I think his hit tool ceiling is much higher than 40, but 35 power seems about right.

Everything I have read and heard says Sosa can stick at short, though it's early and things can change.

2018 White Sox draft picks and signings thread

I'd be shocked if they didn't sign any of picks 1-3. They have a surplus to work with, and I don't see any of the three being clearly over-slot needed. Probably will sign Round 14 too, but like 80% instead of 99.9% sure. -

The FutureSox Draft Tracker has been updated. Here is that link. 27 signed, 1 confirms will sign (Fitzpatrick, who may have actually signed by now), 4 confirm will not sign, 4 still playing, 1 likely to sign soon (Walker), 3 are unlikely to sign. -
Get to know the Arizona League farm team, which is always the youngest in the system but this year's roster is much younger than even previous years' iterations for the Sox. Whole lot of international names here.
-
As always, the weekly hot list gives you the quick overview of who has been doing especially well lately on the farm. Give it a read!

Guest writer Dan Victor joins us again, this time to write about a fringy outfield prospect who might be more than he seems. Get to know Craig Dedelow, with quotes and video.

Team preview here, includes starting rotation and other notes.

One of the two rookie affiliates, the Great Falls Voyagers, opens play tonight. The team is loaded mostly with 2018 draft picks and 2014-2015 era international pickups. They should be a very good team. Read our preview for all the details.

The Carranza thing is a little odd. He had a photo on his Insta of his locker that appeared to be White Sox gear, which I took as meaning he signed. But now the photo is gone, and he is not on the list the Sox just published. -
This is probably approaching geek-level following of the farm system, but James (Y2Jimmy) previewed the Dominican Summer League affiliate for this season. They opened play recently. Get to know that roster in his article.

The middle infield in Chicago is pretty well set for the near future. But depth, for insurance and alternatives (and maybe trade bait) is always good. Ken takes a look at three lower level prospects in this area, with quotes from the players, to paint a picture of some of the available talent.

FS: White Sox Prospect Hot List, 2-week edition
NorthSideSox72 replied to NorthSideSox72's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Yeah, so, that's been a problem since June 1. I've made my displeasure very clear to the people who run CN, and their management at Tronc (TribCo media). They are working to fix it, that's all I can say. It's amazing they botched this so badly - they couldn't make the changes needed for the new EU privacy laws in time, so now no one in Europe can read anything TribCo. They are flushing money down the toilet. Which makes me think it will be fixed soon, but in the meantime, all I can do is apologize on their behalf. We (FutureSox) can't do anything about it. Unless we build a brand new, independent site. Which... well, keep your eyes peeled. ?
