  1. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 5, 2006 -> 06:27 PM) I see absolutely no hustle by our core players, no urgency by our coaching staff, and just no enthusiasm by anyone on or off the field. It's sad that the only people who are hustling are Ozuna, Gload, Mackowiak, Sweeney, and Sandy. Someone might want to tell guys like Crede, Dye, and PK that the season isn't over at the end of August. The good news is that I have absolutely zero confidence that Guillen can turn this ship around. I don't get the criticism of Dye and Crede. Both have cooled off a bit but both have still produced lately. I can't blame either one of them for bein tired and/or worn down. Also, with these two I think their personalities are naturally calm and I don't expect them to change their demeaner now. I certainly don't see them slacking out there. However, PK, AJ, PODS, & Juan exemplify what you are saying better imo. They have not played well and don't have the sense of urgency I expect from them. At least look like you give a s***, and don't shrug when you hit into an inning ending double play with runners on the corners. Also, make a fooking effort to improve your performance - everyone and their dog can tell most of our hitters approach has been abismal lately. PULL EVERYTHING. You'd think that after 2 consecutive double plays (against a AAA pitcher) Paulie would consider going the other way for a base hit. This team gives the impression that they are entitled to win - and that they don't have to work for it. They will be in for a rude awakening in a month if they don't have a drastic change in performance and attitude.
  2. NICE JAVY. Dominating - now go get him the win. He focking deserves it.
  3. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Sep 5, 2006 -> 05:51 PM) Good news guys and gals....I just got a nice feeling, we are going to come back and win this game. Mark my words on that. Well, it certainly isn't out of reach and we do tend to wake up in later innings - but I have lost all confidence in the hitters (most of them anyway) to produce. Dye and Crede were carrying this team for a while and now we see what happens when they cool off slightly.
  4. I actually laughed at this one. It's just so focking predictable - and they give the impression that it doesn't matter. 2 rally killing double plays!?!?!? I'd pinch hit him to send a message - PRODUCE OR YOU SIT. Hopefully all the players would clue in.
  5. That sucked. But this is a big inning for Vazquez, he won't have to face Ortiz or Manny so hopefully he'll get through it 1-2-3. I think it would be HUGE for his confidence. EDIT: geez, it took me 2 outs to type that! Way to go Javy! REALLY well done tonight - my hat is off to you!
  6. He's inconsistent, but so far he's pitched out of his mistakes very well.
  7. Hmmm, hard to justify walking Mirabelli. This better not be 'meltdown' time.
  8. QUOTE(Frankensteiner @ Sep 5, 2006 -> 05:16 PM) That's game right there. The way things are going, you might be right. Although we do have a habit of waking up offensively around the 6th or 7th inning.
  9. I'm not too concerned with the lack of hitting the first time around the lineup, but I expect MUCH better results the second and third time through as they adjust. Hopefully they deliver this inning.
  10. C'mon Joe, let's get this run in. and then we'll worry about giving it back later.
  11. I'm sick of the White Sox hitters making bums look like CY fooking Young. Get it together!
  12. Walking Loretta to get to Ortiz is not what I would call smart.
  13. Single scores him... well, maybe not. Better make it a double.
  14. Bases loaded for DET. Shields cant keep the ball out of the dirt
  15. Detroit threatening. 2nd & 3rd with 2 outs. Monroe up.
  16. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 2, 2006 -> 06:36 PM) You gotta let Dye hit there. I agree (although he may have saved Dye from his 5th K).
  17. At least Keppinger was equally bad against us as he was against Minnesota.
  18. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Sep 2, 2006 -> 06:26 PM) How well has Thorton been throwing lately? Shouldn't matter against Gathright.
