Some positive input here from a Tribe fan. You guys look pretty much like a lock to get it done after last night. That was a pretty much a coffin nail for the Stros i'm thinking. They all looked stunned by that shot. I couldn't believe that Qualls was stupid enough to throw a dead red fastball over the high part of the plate to Kenerko. Props to Paul for a very clutch hit. I know you guys are all riding high right now, and I hope you remember this note. All Tribe fans are not buttholes. I for one would take some comfort in knowing that we got eliminated at least by the team that is looking like they're going to take the whole tamale. Good luck, and it's damn cool that a team from the Central is showing some serious heart for a change. WD

From an extremely dissapointed Tribe fan I'd like to wish you guys the best of luck in the playoffs. I hate the Red Sox and the even more the Yanks. I hope you guys sweep your way to the WS. I have to admit I felt like the tribe was a better fit for the post season but after seeing the way they folded in the last week, I see the better club advanced. Good luck, and hopefully the Tribe will give you guys more resistance next year.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 11:42 AM) Like I said, you have been fine, but we do get our unfair share of trolls, and to keep what is left of our sanity after this season, we keep opposing fans on a short leash and also suspend our posters for trolling other boards. There are a lot of woulda coulda shouldas this season for both teams. In order I pull for the Sox, the AL Central, and the AL. So after the Tribe nakes the playoffs as the WC, I will be pulling for you in every series not involving the Sox. It's cool. And I appreciate you guys letting me in here to vent a little. Not to mention, you boys are a hell of a lot more interesting than the mutts where I normally hang out.. Hate to say it, but I have to do some work... Good luck gents, and i'll try and get back in to read some more later or tomorrow.. WD -

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 11:38 AM) It was a f'n changeup you dolt. Easy now.. I haven't called a single person in here any names.. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 11:38 AM) Mark Buehrle, headhunter... Yeah that's it So your're telling me that Buehrle meant to hit Travis Hafner in the face with a pitch, give him a concussion, and knock him out for 17 games, because he knew that the Sox were going to play .500 ball for the next two months while the tribe played .800 ball. This isn't your site here is it? http://www.timecube.com/ Nope.. Just trying to point out the irony of the situation.. Hindsite and all that good s***.. You know.. -

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 11:37 AM) oh, so they knew with a 15 game lead that they HAD to hit Hafner to make the playoffs? GMAFB. Good point. Just amazing to me it had to be him. Why couldn't he have lost a pitch on Casey Blake.. -

QUOTE(Texsox @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 11:26 AM) Don't worry, we got our fingers on the dump button. We've always given anyone who stops by the respect they deserve. We've had Sox fans that were a hell of a lot more annoying than Dawg. You guys gonna dump me? Cmon fellas we're arguing baseball. This is good s*** here. If I get personal, tell me and i'll throttle back. I'm glad it's the Sox. I was getting tired of seeing the Twins up there. -

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 11:19 AM) And if we had Frank Thomas all year? QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 11:22 AM) How about if Frank Thomas doesn't rebreak his ankle? You think the Sox would have still been struggling offensively? How about if Pods doesn't pull his hammy? How about if Crede's back hadn't been bugging him for a couple of months? HOw about if Hermanson's back hadn't been bothering him, and Jenks hadn't had 2 BS's and a L in 3 consecutive days? Its easy to play the "what if" game for any team, but in reality, injuries are part of the game. Period. QUOTE(Texsox @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 11:24 AM) The Sox had injuries also. Losing Thomas for most of the season hurt as well. We could also add a couple other names. I guess we were better able to adjust and overcome. Injuries are part of the game, too bad the Tribe wasn't able to overcome those as well as the Sox. I believe every team in the playoffs had to overcome a key injury this season. BTW, the Sox should have beat Minny last seasons but unjuries to Maggs and Thomas crushed us. Cry for me Wiredawg1. Nice try, would you like to play again? Is he related to Dawg, the Bounty Hunter? I can't believe you guys can't see the difference and the irony. The man didn't have some arbitrary injury. He was beaned by the so-called best pitcher on your staff. Who just so happens to play for the team that we are now 2 games behind. It should have never happened. And nobody can tell me that it was just an accident. Burhle is not known for his wildness. I know baseball teams have to deal with injuries year in and year out, but that one was without a doubt a season changer for the tribe. One last thing. I am grateful to be even aguing these things with you guys, because of the emotion, it means there are good things at stake here. -

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 10:58 AM) Maybe. Maybe not. That's the beauty of the game, you don't know. QUOTE(Steff @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 10:59 AM) Winning lotto #'s please.. TIA.. Pronk OPS last six weeks= 1.500 plus. Thats how I know. The man has been the best hitter in baseball for the last six weeks, and he was kicking butt before Burhle beaned him in the face. Damn shame too, because we all lost witness to that month of greatness. He'd probablt be in contention for the batting title, or hell even the triple crown. -

I'm not trying to piss anybody off. I'm just pissed that the tribe may not make the dance, and in my opinion stand a hell of a lot better chance of advancing than the Sox. And I understand that it's a marathon and not a sprint. However the Sox remind me of the Ironman guy on the Gatorade commercial suffering from dehydration in the final 50 meters of the race. And what really pisses me off is the amount of time that Pronk missed because of Buerhle. We get that month back with Pronk and the Sox are looking up at us. Say what you want, but that's a fact. -

I don't want to start an argument here, but this whole situation as an Indians fan makes me want to puke. The Sox have a golden oppritunity against probably the second worst team in the AL right now to lock this thing down and they lay two eggs in a row. And the Tribe gets stuck with the scrapiest team since the break in their next to last series. If I was a Sox fan right now (with all due respect) i'd be disgusted. These guys have got about as much chance of getting out of the first round as a AA club. They'll probably make it to the dance, but IMO they flat ass don't deserve to. -
QUOTE(Reddy @ Sep 22, 2005 -> 10:42 AM) is it weird that my reaction wasnt a negative one? i dunno, i've always appreciated that ozzie's said EXACTLY what he feels, and i actually kind of like him more after this. He's doing this for the love of the game - not the money. i dunno... and the part about going crazy after a loss, thats a good thing right? lol well all i do know is that i pretty much respect ozzie more after that - though honestly i'm not sure why... I think it was maybe Confucious that said. " Better to be silent and thought of as a fool, than to open ones mouth and remove all doubt" Not sure but that may apply to Ozzie. I respect the guy for speaking his mind, but he ought to be doing it the clubhouse as motivational talk rather than de-moralizing his players in front of cameras. JMHO.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Sep 22, 2005 -> 10:43 AM) Calm down. It wasn't a fastball and it wasn't intentional. Hafner gets bean a lot because he's right on the plate. The pitcher has as much right to the plate as he does. God would Hafner look nice hitting 3rd in the Sox line-up. I'm calm Damnit!! Really though It bothers me when people in sort of a joking way think that something like that is funny. It could have de-railed his whole career. It's just lucky for tribe fans that Pronk has balls like church bells and was man enough to get back on the horse. Looking forward to the next series with the Sox by the way. Man I thought a few times I was gonna need a triple by-pass.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 22, 2005 -> 10:43 AM) It wasn't on purpose when Mark hit him. And I agree with you that doing it again would be a very s***ty thing to do. I don't mind when people get hit or when people get hit in retaliation, but headhunting is not something that should be condoned. Now there is a man with integrity.

QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Sep 22, 2005 -> 09:58 AM) How to pitch him? Buerhle had it figured out...hit him in the face. Let him try that s*** again, and Guerhle will be digging Pronk's foot out of his ass. Any way you slice it, that was a s***ty thing to do, and i'm fairly sure he knows what will happen to his happy ass if he tries it again. I can't believe people condone s*** like that in MLB.
