  1. yeah, i noticed nobody did much more than look at his curve, and if he'd had a tad more accuracy, that would have burned them. but i don't think the curve looked bad at all. in fact, it looked pretty wicked a few times, the red sox are just a patient bunch. if he gets that thing over maybe two times, nobody's hitting him the rest of the way.
  2. i'd be curious to know how many times papi made the third out. seems like more than a couple times, which is really the way to do things if possible. split those studs up!
  3. QUOTE(The Critic @ Oct 5, 2005 -> 03:58 PM) Uh oh.....going to Boston tied up, I guess...... mwahaha, more like up 2-0!!!!!! i love you tadahitoooo!!!!!!! rock out
  4. not a bad synopsis at all, I see it going much the same way...minus the padres over the cardinals. i just don't see an impotent lineup and flawed pitching staff beating the st. louis cardinals...though i guess the padres do have a nice bullpen. anywho, doesn't matter how iffy the birds have thrown of late, they'll get it done. i just hope the cards don't win it all...they scare me.
  5. i like how boston had to throw its little jabs in at the city of chicago, like we don't know our baseball. I guess he's just understandably bitter. I love mark buehrle and I always have complete, if a little blind, faith in him, so I think we stand a good chance of shutting this guy up. Although, its much like the Pistons vs. Lakers series of '04: "The Lakers are down 0-2...you'd better watch out if you're the Pistons, the Lakers are exactly where they wanna be." Essentially, nothing shuts these losers up if they're talking about their media dolls. f*** the Red Sox, offense will get you nowhere except a pissing match with the Rangers.
  6. QUOTE(Yoda @ Oct 4, 2005 -> 06:34 PM) Am I the only one who saw Scott f***in’ Podsednik hit a three-run HR? This must be heaven. im pretty sure the apocalypse is coming...we'd better hurry up and win this s***
  7. hahaha, i love all carl everett dinosaur references. they never get old!
  8. right on, cubs fans are the trendiest fans in the country. you have no idea how many cubs hats i see living in michigan, and i bet most of them dont even know where sammy sosa went. the cubs, as the red sox, are for people who want to look like they care about sports based on the personae that people like mariotti assign. so yeah, screw the cubs, we'll end our drought long before they end theirs. oh and p.s. whats with all those assholes on ESPN calling sox fans the 'worst fans in sports'? isn't that a little harsh, and probably unfounded as they've likely never met one of us out on the coast?
  9. ok, are the tickets going on sale at noon CST or what? i assume CST but you never know
  10. I gotta agree with the Damon pick. He's their version of Podsednik, and Pods seems to be a popular choice too. If we can keep Damon off the basepaths, the power Manny and Papi flash will be damaging, but minimally so. And if Damon doesn't get one, that's one less thing for the pitcher to concentrate on. Not that they've had much trouble with forgetting about baserunners. Lets face it, Manny and Ortiz are going to burn us a few times. It's just something we gotta live with. But we can't give them free runs by letting the leadoff man get away with stuff. Anyway, we got this sheet covered!
  11. QUOTE(3E8 @ Oct 3, 2005 -> 01:07 AM) I wouldn't bring out the broom before an actual sweep though. It's kinda frowned upon. but i put a question mark! so its like...open ended...nah, ok, no brooms. besides, more games = more fun
  12. I dunno, I think Dye will be in the 3-hole come Tuesday. It seems relatively apparent that that's Ozzie's line of thought. He was in there for the two dress rehearsals, and he performed admirably against a good pitching staff. Carl's been hitting a lot better in the very recent past (I was sitting just above his first triple at Comerica Park) so I wouldn't mind him in the 5 spot. Make them think twice about putting Pecan on! As for Paulie, you can't let him leave the south side if you're Kenny Williams. He's more than a bargain at almost any price, considering what he gives your club in numbers AND in PR. He's never been a problem on any level, which is more than you can say for a number of other superstars. Plus, without him, we don't have a lot of All-Stars. Just pay the man!
  13. i've been reading this board for a loooong time now, and i think it's an appropriate time to hit you with my first post: HELL YEAH, WHITE SOX!!!!!!! Manny and Ortiz can't hit what they can't track, and with Jose's new arm angle, I think it'll be a low scoring affair. Also, the pitching matchups favor us faaar too heavily to call us underdogs. Their number one pitcher isn't as good as our number four. They may win a game or two with their offense, but as with any sport, defense wins you the series...and 99 games P.S. Mike Piazza, Rick Sutcliffe, and Boomer? Holy crap, I'd rather gouge out my eardrums.
