  1. More MLB teams with bad pitching news
  2. I think one of the things that isn't being said a lot is the Os are going to have a major 40 man roster crunch after this season. They are going to have to make some deals so free up space, or lose a lot of guys in the Rule 5. With needing some top pitching, I would think they look to move some volume, instead of the top starts, but maybe a compromise deal has both. Like if they could avoid Holliday, Bassalo, and Mayo, but move like 5-6 of their #5 to #15 prospects instead. There is still a ton of talent there to be had.
  3. They pretty much have to in order to get him. If we don't get that level of guy, I hold him.
  4. For a guy who is so busy angrily stalking my posts you sure don't seem to read them. I have said a ton of times that the Sox are acting like they are trading Crochet because they are going full load with him. That obviously means I think we won't get to the point where we would be the ones cutting back on his usage because he won't be here for the Sox to cut back on. Hopefully that helps restating what I have been stating. Mostly I have been trying to ignore you, because the last time I debated with you, you kind of lost it, and I am trying avoid whatever triggered you before.
  5. He has to spend the next 2.5 years fully healthy and at this level for that to happen.
  6. Something in this range is within a solid view of market value, actually even the high end of market value. He's probably due something like $3 million and 10-12 in the next two arb years, so if you go 5/15 in the next two years, that puts the last two years at $80 million. Maybe you work him into 10/20/35/35 to get his attention, or push say $5 to $10 million to him up front as a signing bonus and go like 10/20/30/30 with a $5 million signing bonus and $5 million buy out on the last year?
  7. And while it would have been nice for Robert to go through the motions, he doesn't have that 2 in 100 arm that would have made this play. But it is almost a professional courtesy to at least give it a try.
  8. And he has to think of the Sox as the incompetent boob's who ruined his first 4 years and potential future earnings
  9. Like I have been saying, his situation is weird with how little he is making now vs how much he will potentially be looking for in free agency. He could be a $350-400 million pitcher in two years if he stays healthy. He could also be on his 2nd TJS. But today he is making $800k. If he is looking at himself in the Garrett Cole column, while the Sox are looking at him like Glasnow, that could easily cause an honest divide.
  10. It's telling that they are being so careful with Drew Thorpe, but still haven't taken the foot off the gas with Crochet.
  11. Too bad our bullpen is awesome and full.
  12. He had lost his concentration by that point. He had a strike three not called, and then threw two pitches away in sequence. He was just trying to throw a strike and Naylor was waiting.
  13. He left over Clevinger, but didn't make a scene going out. He basically let the admin team know and logged off.
  14. Broken foot and ankle problems. Achillies never happened.
  15. To be fair, it is greg, and not "fans". greg is serving up hottakes the way McDonalds serves up Big Macs, cold and stale.
  16. I keep looking for signs that the Sox system is somehow getting past some of the stupid mistakes it make in the past, and it is things like this which give me pause. We still seem to be trying to rush some guys.
  17. Here's something that could change things a lot... https://fansided.com/posts/jackson-holliday-frustrated-proof-orioles-playing-with-fire
