  1. That's a plus for a guy who is gone in three months.
  2. That's honestly a pretty good call about a dude no one has talked about much. He has been impressive as a reliever. Maybe a low budget team looks at him as a cheaper target than an established reliever. He is a free agent after this season, so you have to imagine the Sox take any offer at all for him.
  3. And while I get the Sox looking at bats, I think we are going to all look back at the 2024 draft and Hagen Smith, the same way we look back on the 2014 draft and Carlos Rodon, wondering how he wasn't the top pick. The dude is just a beast.
  4. I think the only way a team isn't interested is if they think he is too hurt to help. They have to be looking at the toxic situation here and thinking if they get him out of Chicago, he will be fine.
  5. To put it all out there, Baltimore is needs to s%*# or get off of the pot. They are about to hit a pretty hard core 40 man roster crunch that should almost force them into some 3:1/4:1 type deals where they move guys who are in between off of the roster to open up spots for the next guys they have to protect this winter. It's either that or starting to deal the guys who need to protected soon. They don't have nearly enough roster spots to cover everyone. A Crochet deal where they push some volume out there door makes some sense for them.
  6. Come on lemon's! Come on lemon's! D'oh!
  7. It's stark. First 11 games at A .140/.229/.279/.508 28k 48 PA Since .385/.448/.577/1.025 9 k 29 PA Kid did the same thing in ACL. He apparently needs a minute to get comfortable.
  8. If they could figure out another guy to shove down, and a HS kid or two to convince late, this could be a big draft.
  9. The last three aren't going anywhere because of their control. Vaughn isn't going anywhere because he isn't very good and is going to be getting more expensive. Robert and Crochet are 100% for sale if a team makes the right offer. I don't think they are a certainty to go, but they are 100% available. If I were a betting man, I would say a 90% chance that Crochet goes, and 70% for Robert.
  10. Ideally you'd like a guy who profiles with some true up the middle defensive profile, but in this scenario you are getting two day one starters in Norby and Kjerstad. They solve 2/3 of your OF, or an OF and a 2B. McDermott might end up a reliever with his control. Beavers is supposed to have power to find, and he might be the make or break of a package like this.
  11. He's actually been a totally different guy out of the pen.
  12. I really think the problem is Kopech. Katz and Bannister have done big things with guys who have a fraction of Kopechs talent
  13. I mean ahead as in when our grandkids are running the world... I sure hope so.
  14. WE DON'T NEED NO STINKIN STARTERS!
  15. That's awful by DeJong. Let's hope Kopech keeps his senses.
  16. The plate has gotten smaller to the relievers than it was to the starters.
  17. Brebbia had the one weird landing, I wonder if they are worried he tweeked something.
  18. Eloy is 100% still hurt. He didn't even try down the line that time either.
  19. Are you trying to say the Sox will keep him and pay him so that they can use him to sell tickets next year? Otherwise I am not sure I understand what you mean here.
  20. It's not the other 28 names, it's Sheets. Either that or Getz goes bargain basement shopping in the F tiers of free agents again. I think you accidentally got to the point of there not being a reason to waste good money on a bad player in Andrew Vaughn when that production isn't worth that much anyway.
  21. Sheets was a minimum wage guy in those years. Vaughn is at $3.25 million in Arb 1, and heading to arb 2 and a sizable raise again, probably earning somewhere in the $5-6 million range. You cutting that check on a 100 loss team next year?
  22. I'm actually not forgetting it. You are missing the point that Vaughn is probably gone within the next year, definitely within the next year and a ahlf.
