  1. Is Cags a 1B because he is also a pitcher and doesn't have time for defense, or is it because he couldn't pass as something like a LF or 3B?
  2. Please claim him and release Moldy. Please, I beg you.
  3. That's why Glasnow is a great comp. Dude barely ever throws 100 innings.
  4. This right here. Dude is thinking 5/150 as a free agent.
  5. That's somewhere around 20m per year for his 3 year FA years. There is no way that happens.
  6. Glasgow got 5 years at 27.5 million per. Obviously Garrett has his 2 arb years first, but that is going to be what Crochet is using as a basis for any negotiations going forward.
  7. I guess you are new to competitive basketball. Well there is one other thing...
  8. greg needs more pearls to clutch...
  9. That mattered years ago. He is quickly pushing in on 2000 PAs and 3.5 years of MLB experience. Sure we all hope is hot streak is something, but odds aren't looking good.
  10. Should we talk about his career RC+ of 102 as a 1B? How about his career .727 OPS? He's a mediocre bat and a below average 1B by pretty much any measure. He's also one who is in his arb years.
  11. Going back a bit further, you can also throw Pavin Smith into that pile. I don't see any true 1B success stories over that same time frame being picked this high.
  12. Like I said, in recent years if it had been just Vaughn, you could chalk it up to White Sox being White Sox and hope recent changes would make a difference, but when a guy like Torkelson, who had every bit the offensive hype that Cags has had, ends up being another Andrew Vaughn, it should raise some red flags, especially combined with fears of the baseball being juiced in college this year.
  13. Yeah, no. She was going to block a shot, that's it. Its freaking basketball, it happens. All of the same people who five minutes ago were talking about how their freshman team cut selves could beat Clark one on one are now horrified to find out that they play real basketball too, and that sometimes, they even get fouled. Noooooooooooooo. Even the people on the floor knew it was a play on. They went, picked their teammate up and walked away. If the people on the floor were actually concerned, they would have gone after Reese, but they didn't. Even after the game both Clark and Reese said it was nothing. Crap like this is why media gets a bad name, as well as the hangers on looking for a few cheap clicks and some engagement.
  14. This is the company, and not Sox park. https://www.chicagotribune.com/2024/06/15/guaranteed-rate-toxic-environment/
  15. Considering we are very close to halfway through this season and still haven't won 20 games yet, I think you are being overly optimistic. The answer is they know this franchise has the worst talent level from top to bottom in all of MLB, and they are going to have to look to put together something in the future, they aren't doing anything today or tomorrow.
  16. No one is trading for Andrew Vaughn right now.
  17. It's also followed along with him getting less regular time, so no real surprise there either.
  18. It is hilarious that this is played some sort of trump card. Ooooooh you really got everyone there. Oh wait, we are still on pace for the most losses in MLB history in the modern era. Nevermind.
  19. I was not thrilled to see the jump from AA to MLB with a guy who is going to vitally depend on pinpoint control, but it is what it is now that he is here. (well at least until Getz sends him out) When you have raw kids, you can't be surprised by how varied their bodies of work are from outing to outing.
