  1. He actually smacked Joc Petersen, so I would say almost is an understatement.
  2. Besides the name on the door, what actually changed that should tell us things might be different? So far I have seen an even lower tier of FAs, prospects beings rushed and jerked around, and the dumping of a bunch of guy Getz was responsible for training, as was the continuation of our kids being baseball stupid.
  3. This is a dude who never seems to err on the side of caution. He rushes prospects, makes big deals, pushes pitchers, etc. If he thinks Crochet is the guy, he will figure out a way to get it done, cost or common sense be damned.
  4. The Sox spending smart in free agency AND being able to cover positions that they spent a decade fucking up at AND getting high end performance out of key prospects is exactly why the Sox being good soon is an unpopular opinion.
  5. I started looking him to to refresh my memory and this is one of the first things I found. https://www.prospectslive.com/prospects-live/2022/10/29/is-jackson-merrill-the-1-prospect-in-baseball
  6. Even if this is a dreaded high ankle sprain we are talking about a couple of weeks. Seeing him walk off under his own power makes me thing it wasn't something where he tore up ligaments in his ankle, but who knows.
  7. To be fully honest, the Sox have zero real scenario shot at .500 the next two years. I mean maybe if we were willing to spend we could fill some holes, but we won't spend on 1A type of players, only mediocre free agents, which shuts that door, meaning any real talent has to come internally. We have no real position player strength to speak of./
  8. Being 100 losses bad instead of 120 losses bad when no one could have ever imagined those guys would be hurt.
  9. There isn't enough that is going to be here in the next two years that it will even matter.
  10. This isn't even that, it is even stupider. If he slides like he is supposed to, he just get tagged out by 20 feet at home plate, and no injury. Instead he went out of his way to hit the catcher and instead jammed his leg into the equipment of the catcher and jammed his ankle like a moron.
  11. And I am into Ethan Salas. Let's go.
  12. Even better shot. Dude has an open path to home plate, and goes out of his way to hit the catcher. And the rule is https://www.mlb.com/glossary/rules/collisions-at-home-plate
  13. So Tommy Pham hurt himself making an illegal play into home plate which he then got mad about at the other player. I can see why we absolutely had to get him around these kids to help them learn.
  14. This makes sense. Any team looking at Robert would need -#1 to be in a competitive window today -#2 have a deep farm system -#3 have a top heavy system with a guy around the Top 10 of all prospects, plus probably another top 30 to 50 guy and an end of the top 100 guy to start a deal for Robert. -#4 have all of #1-3 and not be afraid to deal those kinds of guys.
  15. This just brings a whole other level to the absurdity.
  16. If the Cubs can't control this series, they need to start selling off parts because they have no chance.
  17. Literally the one thing he has been good at is running. He is going to take up a roster space for that at the major league level.
  18. Then stick with them and protect the kids. It is literally the lurching back and forth between any and all plans that is the panic. One day Oscar Colas isn't ready, but the next day Duke Ellis and Ramos are. One day Rafael Ortega is important enough to release somebody for, two weeks later he is gone. Same with Brad Keller. If those kinds of guys are here as roster protection, cool, use them that way. If they aren't get rid of them. Getz can't handle this job.
  19. No one forgot. In fact some of us have been arguing a smart GM would have planned for it. Oops.
  20. This man is setting records for roster moves. He has lurched between 30 something year old guys who should be retired, and signing random never has beens from off of the streets. Then he calls up a guy who is clearly not ready for the big time, or calls a guy up for 1 AB only to send them down again and recall them again later. Quit the pretense of us having a chance, play the next guys in line. Duke Ellis is not the next guy in line. Give the kids a real chance and not the freaking Martin Maldonado's and Brad Kellers of the world. If you can't make sense of that, cool.
  21. To be fair, you are the one putting out the claims on how you only deal in facts, and how everyone targets only you to misrepresent those amazing facts.
  22. #1, I did just explain. #2, this is more than just this one set of roster moves.
