Even if you want to call his performance "hindsight" it isn't to hindsight to say that no one wanted him at the deadline last year, nor did they all winter long. It was a stupid move that wasn't worth the upside.
They really pushed Burke hard through the system. He was pretty bad in a limited sample at AA, and worse at AAA, though injury could have been part of it in Charlotte. Hopefully they let him have some success for a while.
I get the feeling that the plan is to try and win a Southern League championship with that group this year. It is a complete guess, but until they lose out, I am betting we don't see major players leaving that squad.
Let this be a lesson in life kids. Forget hard work, find something you bad enough at that people will pay you to go away. It's like the Peter Principle on steroids. Maybe we could call it the Getz Gain?
Losing a lot is not comparable to a cheating scandal and having 8 players barred for life and the franchise scarred forever. It's not even in the same universe of bad.
I can't say I am actively rooting against them on a daily basis, but their results also don't bother me. I absolutely do want to see change, and if it takes record bad to do it, so be it.
I get this sentiment, but even out of the kids, who has gotten any better? Who is making smarter plays? Who is taking better routes? Who is showing better techniques? I can't think of anyone these past two seasons.
