  1. Of course it is a better shot, because Crochet has every incentive in the world to extend. He has an extensive injury history, and not much of a history of success. That deal is probably a disaster as soon as it is signed. I am not super excited about the prospect of promising nine figures to a guy who hasn't managed to get 120 innings in the 5 years he has been on a major league roster. That's not even good for a reliever, let alone a guy who would be getting paid like a starter.
  2. This is a nice get for Kanny. They are at .500, but they have barely anyone of excitement on that squad.
  3. I said it during the off season, and will say it again here, there was tons of collusion this winter. It might take a while to come out, it might never come out, but you won't convince me otherwise.
  4. That's fair. I mean I am in the camp of unless you get a MASSIVE discount with multiple options on Crochet, that's the only way I would extend him. Robert has a better (but definitely not great) history.
  5. I am WAY more on board with extending Robert vs Crochet.
  6. So far this year I have checked off a total solar eclipse, northern lights, golf ball size hail, an earthquake off of my nature bucket list. Next year is a volcano at least.
  7. It's been written about many times, but a typical baseball franchise is at its most profitability by having a minimal payroll and sitting back to collect all of the TV money.
  8. Wins? Lmao! Why are you so offended about someone saying that Burgers OPS is absurdly low? Is this your new KC Royals San Diego?
  9. Duh. There is no team in baseball in a worse position than the White Sox. Still don't know what that has to do with the OPS of Jake Burger.
  10. Not sure what the other six guys have to do with Jake Burgers OPS, but sure.
  11. How does a corporation owning the Sox make things better? Literally their fiduciary duty is to shareholders first and screw everyone else... sound familiar? I still get the feeling that taking on a new large minority owner is pretty telling of who the next majority owner will be, as why else would they be buying in at that volume without a plan to purchase more?
  12. It is really impressive to put up a WORSE counting number than Nicky Lopez in 40 LESS PAs.
  13. I just looked it up. His OPS is barely higher than Nicky Lopez or Andrew Benintendi's. (.018 and 0.11 respectively) Lil Nicky actually has a better bWAR (-0.3 to -0.7)
  14. Not to mention all of the Nashville talk was on behalf of an expansion franchise that TLR is a part of, and literally nothing to do with the White Sox.
  15. It really makes the payment they made for Gio and ReyLo last year all of the more stupid, as if it wasn't already stupid when they did it.
  16. This one might not happen. Going to be storms rolling through this evening.
  17. I mean there is no reason we couldn't do both if we really wanted to do so. We could trade him early for the best return, and try to sign him when he hits free agency in a year and a half.
  18. That and some people feel that true embarrassment might force actual change, and not just a new stooge running the organization in basically the same way as the last one.
  19. I said nothing. I posted the stat and left it to Soxtalk to decide what to do with it.
