  1. His ego wouldn't allow him to say no.
  2. And it isn't just futuresox, he got national attention.
  3. Because rushing prospects is a large part of why the last 20 years have failed.
  4. I would bet money the Hobson deal includes an option to buy the majority share in the future. The Sox had always refused new minority partners until now. Putting 2 and 2 together, I bet this is already done for either Jerry's death, so some point in the near future, possibly contingent on the new stadium.
  5. If I had to guess, the ownership change has already begun.
  6. We did this already... it went back to his size.
  7. Be nicer to have a line up that could hit, but micro victories, I guess.
  8. I can't believe anyone who isn't paid to be there actually cares.
  9. A: How many you got? We got 40 slots.
  10. Accept it? Nah. Spend a bunch of energy, time, and money on the inevitable? Also, nah.
  11. Can't see which prospect we cut next!

  13. Even after a 5-5 day, Nishida is hitting .220 in his pro career with 3 XBHs. He's 23 years old in low A ball playing at two and a half years above the league average. Mogollon is doing his work in an age appropriate setting (actually almost a year under league average) and putting up far superior numbers across the board.
  14. Say what you want about Jerry, but don't make him out to not understand. He absolutely understands. He just doesn't care. That's not the same thing.
  15. Disqualifying one guy because he is 5'8", but not the guy who is 2 inches shorter isn't rational. Neither is talking about a "hit tool" for a guy who topped out at .312 in college at age 22, but ignoring it for someone who hit .314 in pro ball at age 18 with better power numbers.
  16. He also sees a lot of teams in Chicago who don't have to win to draw fans and would rather have that.
  17. Which is exactly why he wants a stadium where he doesn't have to jump through hoops to get fans to a game.
  18. It's exactly because we are 1-7 with no hope that we shouldn't be giving away fringe 22 year olds for 35 year old OFs. Players with even a chance at okness are more important than fillers.
  19. Spoiler alert, he's 5'6"
  20. What is the difference between #25 and #42?
  21. This is what gets me. People spent the entire winter talking about how we didn't sign any good players, the players we did sign sucked, and everyone in management was trash, yet are still freaking out with each bad play and game. I don't even want to see respectable bad. I want to see national embarrassment bad. I want this drug through the mud and questioned in gory detail and mocked league wide. Give me record breaking bad. #TeamBurnThisBitchtotheGround
  22. "I don't know if he is any good" and "overhyped" isn't the same as wait and see.
