  1. Honestly I have never seen anything like it. All of these guys were showing promise and talent at the major league level. Then to a man they ALL regressed, and regressed like I have never seen that many players do. If the foundation was bad, they should have never shown that much ability, and never gotten anywhere at all. it would have been different if they never made a playoff, but they did twice. If the foundation was that bad, they never break .500.
  2. Until Tony didn't get the most out of the players and they collapsed under his watch.
  3. Well at least they didn't disappoint in giving false hope.
  4. Literally in the history of baseball, this has not happened. There are excuses, and then there are fantasies.
  5. Ah yes, the freedom of speech crowd trying to have people canceled again over some hurt feelings.
  6. I didn't think it was possible to "try" and still be this bad, but here we are.
  7. Burrowes and McDougal are two of those borderline guys who the system looks a lot better if they get going and push themselves into the picture.
  8. I literally can't describe something I have seen change since Pedro left.
  9. You seem to know a lot more about the Cubs too, plus a little defensive.
  10. This too. That group was in a downward spiral. They weren't going anywhere.
  11. If you call back to back playoff appearances flimsy for the first time in franchise history, sure.
  12. Yeah, Kopech was the top guy in his position by far. He would have been even higher, but for punching a teammate in the minors.
  13. Agreed. He was supposed to be Roger Clemens coming in. Between injuries, covid skipping a year, being generally uncoachable, and failing in both the pen as an as a starter for the Sox, he deserves to be on that Mt Rushmore. I know people get after Eloy and Yoan, but neither of them have ever gone on record for refusing to listen to coaching.
  14. I will say there were a couple of big drops which change the outcomes and statlines a lot.
  15. The rebuild was fine until they fired Ricky and hired Tony.
  16. The sticking point here isn't what he said in spring, it is what he believed in the spring. It is very different if he said they improved, but was privately saying they would look 100 games, versus if he said they improved and spring and is now downplaying it because it looks bad.
  17. There is a light. It is an on coming freight train.
  18. Is this from someone who talks to Getz or is this speculation?
  19. Honestly, fi they are going to get the same kind of return they got for the other guys, cool, don't shop him. Keep him.
  20. Yeah, the interview was a bit weird. They asked him about meeting Crochet, and he said he wasn't there when he went to the locker room. Then steve asked him if they had talked about his off season program, and he said they hadn't in any detail. Then they quit asking him meaningful questions.
  21. A cub fan trolling Soxtalk would also suggest the same.
