The first rule of Soxtalk is we don't talk about the grand conspiracy to drive traffic to Soxtalk. Do you know how hard it was to Gage the Sox? Oh, I have said too much.
-
Or consequently, if Jerry still has the level of control where he just vetoes everything he doesn't like, why should I have faith that Getz can do this job, even if I join in the handwaving away of the past 12 months?

Again, where all of these gains we were supposed to be seeing?

So he's awesome, but don't expect any results?

Will the Sox prioritize Moncada over youngsters?

I am confused as to the entire premise of a veteran being mistreated here. Who and how? -
Like usual, the story broke outside of the Chicago media, and nothing has really been asked or said.

This message board you referred to where everyone stays exactly the right amount on topic, and also this deep topical discussion.
-
It's why I keep saying for one less washed up utility player we could fix a lot of what ails this franchise.
-
Still. Point me to the discussion.

Point me to the message board where only select and positive topical discussions on this topic are taking place. Otherwise bitching about bitching is still bitching.

If you have any actual insight into scouting, please do so, otherwise you are offering the exact same thing you are complaining about.

Outside of the paycheck they would love the Sox. They refuse to bench vets even when they should. -
Sox looking at building in South Loop

Which is exactly why Wrigley Field is empty nightly. -

And people can point out that teams aren't willing to deal hitters, sure. Great. But that doesn't make things better. It keeps make them worse, because there isn't a way to get this talent into the system for a much longer time frame, and it means the Sox need to do something they haven't done for decades in developing multiple star level hitters at the same time. Those players don't exist in the system now, and if they can't trade for them, they can't shorten the time frame. It actually makes their draft much worse.
-
And realistically, when you are having literally the worst season in the 124 year HISTORY of modern major league baseball, are you supposed to be happy and making excuses for the franchise?
-
I mean I said it, but I didn't mean it, how did you not know that?
-
-
Except by all indications we seem to be going the opposite direction and firing everyone who isn't an old timey guy.
-
You know you are just telling on yourself at this point.

Even if you want to handwave away all of the Getz failures at the major league level, which was pretty much every single move he made, I am not sure what else we are missing. I keep seeing Bannister held up as our savior, but if you look at the results as a whole, they aren't even that impressive. Schultz had a big year, in super limited innings. Getting Hagen Smith into the system should be a huge shot in the arm. Past that? We couldn't call up a single pitcher to the major leagues in either the bullpen or starting rotation the entire season who was ready to go. Look at the rest of the top pitchers from last year. Nastrini bombed. Thorpe was up and down, and then hurt. Taylor had a great short sample, and then another major injury. Eder bombed. Pallette fell of the rotation and made noise as a reliever. Vera bombed, and was released. Bush got a call up, but not much to show. Don't even get me started on the relievers who were a disaster. The hitting was a massive failure this year. I don't even need to waste time on it. Even as a whole our system trails most everyone in the division, who we are already trailing by at least 40 games.

I am not sure what exactly we are supposed to be feeling better about, exactly? That a bunch of people got fired? Cool. In the mean time, the guy in charge has absolutely failed at his job so far. But apparently that doesn't matter because people got fired.
