  1. And if you touched anymore than that, please, don't tell us
  2. This is honest advice right now. Find a nationally respected newspaper and read it everyday. Part of the problem with the US's general apathy in the 18-24 crowd is that they have no idea what is going on in the world around them. You live in NY, read the NY Times national and world sections (I have no idea how the paper breaks it sections down, so it could be all together) from beginning to end. It might be boring and dry, but I really believe if the younger generation had any idea what goes on in the world, they would make themselves more a part of the political process. I have read the Tribune daily for most of my life now, and I really think the habit of doing it makes me much more informed than the average 30 year old.

    New Semester

Efollet.com used to be the best one. I haven't looked for books online for years though...
  4. I'd be interested to see the Zionist slant on the fence.
  5. One of the interesting things I haven't heard anyone mention yet is that Bush appealed to professional athletes for ending steroid usage. It was kind of out of place if you ask me, but interesting none the less.
  6. This might not happen now. It was reported in today's Trib that Shea's asking price was a lot more than the Bears had expected. Stay tuned on this one.
  7. It would depend on where you were "working" where you recieved your income. If you recieved the money in the US, for "work" in the US, despite recieving it from a foreign source, you should only be paying US taxes on it. I am not positive about his, but I know we have some nerdy CPA's out there who might be able to shine somemore light on this.
  8. If it was the IRS we were talking about, I would be about 95% sure that the answer was yes. The IRS got Capone on his illegal money, when the feds couldn't put a case together against him. The IRS is how most mobbsters get taken down. So I would imagine that bribes would fall under the same category (yeah I know you were probably kidding, but hey)
  9. Good statement cw, and appicable to a lot of people.
  10. Espesially in a non-constant action sport, the extra cameras in baseball are so underutilized that they end up getting lots of those kind of shots.
  11. It was beautiful to see some old time hockey, somewhere other than the minors.
  12. Nice to see our government isn't the only one for sale
  13. From today's trib. Both Kenny Williams, Scott Boras, and Theo Epstein are denying this deal is being done, as are basically the Rangers.
  14. Great SEC game last night with Kentucky and Tennessee going to OT to decide it by one point 69-68. UK had as big of a lead as 16, but UT rallied back behind McFadgon's career high 33 points to force OT.
  15. Really as a confrence, the Big 12 has gotten good at basketball in the last 10 years or so. They would always have an elite team or two, and then just crap for the rest of the teams. You gotta remember the Big 12 came from the old Big 8 which was basically a football confrence, combined with some of the old SWAC which was another football confrence. They have had some stars here and there, but nothing like the rest of the major confrences such as the Big 10, ACC, SEC, Big East and PAC10
  16. Wow. Of all the stupid things to say...
  17. I am watching. And the whole "applause" thing annoys the s*** out of me. Didn't they learn in school to hold your applause to the end???
  18. Wow, The Raiders actually went cheaper for a coach than the Bears
