Upside wise I would have looked at Pietrus and Collison as much better picks. Sweetney never really impressed me. Brian Cook will be one of those Jerome Williams types-hardworker, not gonna get much better. Hayes at the time I doubt I would have picked over Hinrich. I would have looked hard at Lampje, and Dhantey Jones also. Granted I don't know much about the rest of the forgein players picked, but I am sure that there would have a been a couple of them on my list also.

My contention is that there were better potential picks. As for drafting a PG, no Hinrich was the best pick on the board. Paxson picked him as a panic move, instead of signing a cheap vet PG and using the pick on someone with higher upside. Heck don't forget Jamal was taken with the 8th pick, who would you rather have?
