  2. If it is the difference between losing Backman and keeping him, then keep him on as a coach somewhere in the major's to hide him as long as possible. But I just think he is priceless to our minor league system.
  3. I thought they weren't going to release his name.

    Guys

Exactly why I went out last night. Too much predictable irrational anger in here...
  5. New theory. Maybe since Jerry knew we were going against a pitcher we had never seen before he figured that we would score less runs off of him then Mike Mussina, so he wanted to get Buehrle out there to give us the best chance of winning???
  6. I think as good as Backman is, if he isn't going to be managing the big club, I want him managing in the minors. I think his developmental talents would be wasted as a 3rd base coach.
  7. These are the ESPN.com reviews of the baseball parks so far, and surprisingly SoxPark is standing up better than I thought. It even came in ahead of (gasp) Yankee Stadium. Pac Bell (Giants): 93 Camden Yards (Orioles): 92 Coors Field (Rockies): 85 Edison Field (Angels): 84 Kauffman Stadium (Royals): 84 Wrigley Field (Cubs): 84 Dodger Stadium (Dodgers): 82.5 Comerica Park (Tigers): 82 Fenway Park (Red Sox): 81.5 Safeco Field (Mariners): 81.5 Jacobs Field (Indians): 81 Turner Field (Braves): 81 Miller Park (Brewers): 78.5 Busch Stadium (Cardinals): 78 Pro Player Stadium (Marlins): 78 U.S. Cellular Field (White Sox): 74 Yankee Stadium (Yankees): 73.5 Bank One Ballpark (D-Backs): 72 SkyDome (Blue Jays): 67 Metrodome (Twins): 66.25 Network Associates (A's): 59 Qualcomm Stadium (Padres): 58 Tropicana Field (Devil Rays): 56 Veterans Stadium (Phillies): 53.5 Olympic Stadium (Expos): 49
  8. All right I am outta here. One loss and this board belongs to the haters
  9. One question though...how is he eligible since he's received money as a professional athlete. It it simply because he earned it playing another sport? Yup, see Chris Wienke and others who went back and played NCAA football, after playing in the minors.
  10. If Burhle is available to start and you send a rookie out there instead against a team as explosive as the Yank-mees you are asking for it. They got it too, rook-boy gets lit up for 5 in the 1st & we are playing catch-up the rest of the way. Thank god for Danny Wright!!! My point is, you need to start the guy who gives you the best chance to win. Any jackass could go out there and beat the Tigers. Except for us
  11. Neal is going to be sent down, unless they need a reliever in the next few days. With the rosters expanding on Sept 1st, there is no need to send him down, because they can call up anyone on Monday.
