  1. Ditto! I won't pay to see them. But I hope to be able to see them soon.
  2. Man I just noticed that sometime yesterday we went past 150,000 posts on here. It wasn't that long ago that we hit 100K. Can a million posts be far behind????
  3. I think at this point of the year, they are not looking past anybody. A loss to the Tigers counts just as much as a loss to the Yankees.
  4. Ichiro MVP? Nah. He's having a good year, but not MVP-esque. Plus, I think him and Bret Boone would split the votes. I say that it's Frank's award for the taking. It would be the 2nd time that he deserved the MVP after not making the AS team that year. Don't forget who votes for the MVP award. It IS a popularity contest to some extent. Hasn't a lot of Ichiro's "shine" grown dull? I mean sure, he's having a solid season, but the newness just isn't there anymore. And like I said in a diff post, he's got Boone as a teammate, so that will probably take some votes away from him. Although, I guess you could say the same about Frank and Magglio. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. Either way, as long as the Sox win the Central, I'll be happy. Hopefully that whole Ichiro mania has worn off, but it doesn't seem like it. Franks best chance, if he stays this hot, is for Boston to get the wild card, and Oakland to stay hot and finish ahead of the M's, leaving them out of the playoffs. Also if Boone and Ichiro split some votes that will help. And really with Maggs numbers, I don't think he is a top flight MVP canditate. I think there are a bunch of guys I would pick before Ordonez.
  5. Wow, I honestly thought that this deal wouldn't get done. Next question is does he have a chance of making this team, or will he need a year in Norfolk?

  7. The reason for Hallidays record? He is getting 2 more runs of support per game than anyone else in the top 5 of the AL in ERA.
  8. There were about a million things that ran through everyones minds, all at once that morning. It doesn't surprise me at all that sports was one of them.
  9. Does UK have a football team? Does IU????
  10. Sweet. We need to bury the Twins. Seriously.
  11. Good luck Bull and all of the Barons! You have made us proud, but lets get somemore hardware while we are at it!
  12. 3 walks? It sounds like even if Koch was throwing 95, he wasn't staying within himself and was overthrowing to do it.
  13. Haha, sounds like my dorm floor. There are 7 Sox fans and the rest Flubbie fans. So, of course for the floor meeting I donned the "Sosa Cork Co." shirt. Should be interesting as the race heats up... I'm going to the game on the 19th of next month...Any chance I can get one of those shirts then? If so, where? Vendors outside of the ballpark walk around selling them. They usually aren't too hard to find.
  14. THey didnt know that colon throws harder as the game goes along and they didnt know it was actually Cotts turn in the rotation. BIggest idiots ive heard all season. To be fair, no one has been quite sure who was pitching for us on TH, but the stuff about Colon has been known for years...
  15. a Platinium watch at 14???

    Taxes

Let me put this into householders terms. What Bush did is like getting laid off from your old job, taking a new job which pays a lot less, and then going out and getting 3 platinium cards and charging them all up to live a lifestyle that is more expensive than your original one!
  17. Preach on brother. The name of this sermon is Enjoy the Ride!
  18. 4-2 Cards now on a botched DP. 4 relievers in the 8th inning, and each of them lets the lead off hitter on. And you thought our pen was bad! :fthecubs
  19. :fyou Cleveland. I remember just 2 years ago all of their jackass fans telling us how great of fans they were, because the Jake sold out every night. Two short years later, they suck and their attendance is WAY less than the Sox. Nothing but a bandwagon town.
  20. CW, just go ahead and move it... This has been going on for days, through tons of threads...
  21. And Kyle Farnsworth was "just as awful" :fthecubs
  22. More bright news, after 7 scoreless Kerry Wood innings the Cubs pen comes in and gives up 3 runs with no outs in the 8th inning. Cards lead 3-2 no one out in the 8th with a runner at 2nd.
