  1. Speaking of Big Jon, what is the deal lately? Is his velocity back, or his breaking stuff on again or what? He has been great lately. When I was down there I heard he had no stuff back at that point. But that could of changed. Up until about two weeks ago Aaron Sele had no stuff and then all of a sudden his velocity jumped 7 MPH (Happened to be the game we played him). Guys take time coming back from an injury and I've noticed some really good starts out of him since I got back, so maybe he's gotten healthy. Either way, this will be 2 years. One full year in the minors so next year is when he should break out. After that I'd say his odds aren't good. He'll be a callup though. Serious shoulder injuries like Jon had take about 2 years to recover from. IA lot of people say that shoulder surgery takes longer to recover from than Tommy John surgery does now. I am anxious if anyone else has heard how Jon's pitches look right now.
  2. If Jose can stay hot, that makes the bottom of this line up very dangerous, espesially with a resurgent Joe Crede.
  3. You and everyone else. I remember him being the man in a few fantasy drafts. Its too bad he never reached his potential. He was a freakin stud in this league........ overshadowed Tejada... I have a ball signed by both Grieve and Tejada....... I wanted two separate balls, but when i got the one, I was disappointed Tejada was on the same ball as Grieve...... What an idiot I turned out to be. LOL Speaking of Tejada, what the hell happened to him? He was supposed to be the 2nd best SS in baseball. Forcing it too hard during a contract year, where your employer already said he can't have you back. That will discract you on the field big time.
  4. Think about this for a second. Any owner who a chance to get a premier franchise would most likely do a way better job and spend way more money on it, than the Tribune company ever did. The Trib owning the Cubs is the best thing for Sox fans.
  5. Schow has shown me one thing early in his career with the Sox. He cannot get out RH hitters.
  6. Having dealt with all of the BS at National City, I can appreciate this. http://www.f***nationalcity.com/
  7. I'd say Rick White, if he was till here. Now he is vital to the Cubs and Cardinals chances at winning the central, instead of Minnesota and KC's chances of winning the AL Central.
  8. Billy Koch without a doubt. He has blown more momentum this year. Konerko is a close second, but at least has been hot for a while. Wright wasn't key enough to this season to be considered the worst, IMO.

  10. And I will have to say that Hahn is getting quoted in the papers way more often than ever before...

  12. What do I think? I think you are lost and meant to click on the off-topic board
  13. Joe Valentine is the player recalled to take Sullivans place. http://www.sportsline.com/mlb/story/6585002

  15. Mark Davis. They were trying to block a division rival from getting him and got screwed in the end on that one.
  16. Like I said before Damn, I wish KC had traded for him. I knew he was going to get hurt, just like he always does. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=1601128
  17. I'd say Freddy Garcia if we could figure out what happened to him. He is by far the biggest upside of anyone on that list.
  18. I was a college student WAAAAAAAAAY too long ago
  19. this was interesting from ESPN. I would be willing to guess that the total amount of the contract Beltran ACTUALLY gets is less than half of that $144 mil figure.
  20. Good move for them. Also nice to see Homer Drew come out of retirement to take over Valpo again. They are a classy family. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/news/story?id=1600697
  21. No it means they were placed on waivers. I guess just about every player gets placed on waivers, some are placed there to mask others who they are trying to hide.
  22. You have any questions I'll try to help. Econ is what my degree is in..
