  1. Joe had 9 points including his clutch 3 run homer. Congrats to cwsox for going on out on a limb and being the only one to pick him!
  2. I have even turned down freebies to go up there. I just won't set foot in Wrigley. I guess it is my strange sense of morals... I haven't been for 4 years. And I still wouldn't be going - since Jim and I already turned down tickets twice in the past 2 weeks - but I was invited by a dear friend I have not seen for a few years. And he is bringing his daughter whom I absolutely love so I'm more going to just see them. He is divorced and doesn't get a lot of weekend time with his daughter so where she wants to go is where he goes. She is a Sox fan, but will be with her mom in Pennsylvania when they are at Comsikey. So.. I have to suck it up and take one for the team You are a bigger man than I am... or something along that line of thought that is more politically correct

  4. And give the Cubs any of my money? No way.

  7. Mark has been in the league much more than 2 1/2 -3 weeks...
  8. But the thing is I shouldn't have to pay for the health care of people who can't or don't know what they are eating. If the company lies or misleads them sufficently then they should be held liable, otherwise the consumer should be liable for whatever damage they do to their body. But with a tax on just about other "sin" the government is fining me for not living up to what they think is moral. That IMO is wrong.
  9. Willie sure did the job last night. Way to go bottom of the line up. Josh Paul, Joe Crede, Paul Konerko, and Willie were our offense last night.
  10. Definately, good job guys. Not just Jason but the whole gang here.
  11. shhhhhh i wouldnt admit to that loudly around here.......... Going to check out the new park in Cincy and what better time than to watch the Scrubs lose... Don't worry, I would never stoop to the ultimate low of cheering for the Scrubies. It is so much more fun to act like a Cub fan at Wrigley when they are losing. Getting all pissed, screaming we suck, you can basically rip 'em all day without any trouble then around the 8th or 9th announce that's why you're a Sox fan. Stupid ScRub fans actually threw a beer on me a couple seasons ago. Really what self respecting Sox fan would waste a beer on a ScRub fan? Oh you'd be surprised...
  12. Well maybe not this year, but over the last two season he has saved our asses on many occasions.
  13. Yeah I thought in order to resign a player he couldn't take anymore than a 20% paycut to stay with the same team.
  14. God help Roman when he realizes that the whole world isn't made up of Anglo-American Straight Males. Living in that much ignorance is just sad. That is what it all boils down to. I honestly feel sorry for him.
  15. Not just one good start, but 4 out of 5 good starts... He has been hot about as long as Thomas has...
  16. I WISH Buehrle would "suck" as much as Nolan Ryan did. Please do not compare a 3rd year pitcher to perhaps the greatest pitcher of all-time. MB is not a 3rd year pitcher - although he is a 3rd year starter - and Nolan Ryan's W-L record is pretty crap for the greatest pitcher of all time. Look it up. Count his 18 loss seasons. If Nolan Ryan had 3 18 loss seasons for the Sox would you be so chipper? Nolan also pitched for some of the worst offensive teams of his era. I remember the one year where he went 8-16 while leading MLB with a 2.76 era. Heck he would have loved pitching for this team...
  17. Frank Thomas, 0-for-4, 2 K's! What a loser! You little punk. Frank Thomas .275 BA, 16 homeruns and 35 RBIs. MB 3-10 with a 4.85 ERA. And Franks a loser? And the funny thing is that as bad as Buehrle has been none of his teammates have ever needed to call him out to get him going again...
  18. OK, clujer, I despise MB more than anyone here but really, a reliever is supposed to have a low ERA. Starters, especially freakin aces, are too, but we all know, love and accept MBs incompetence. Except me of course... At the same time, it only takes 1 or 2 bad games for a reliever's ERA to skyrocket, and it takes them 2 months to get it back down. Koch had a horrible start of the season, but for the last month he's been solid. Starters can afford to have a few bad games because they pitch so many innings. Koch has an era of about 1.15 over his last 15 outings...
  19. I think you forgot this :finger :finger :finger :finger :finger :finger :finger
  20. I guess we probably all are then... I don't care who the player is, even if I think he is a complete asshole, I still want to see him succeed, because it helps the Sox; which is the MOST important thing. NO ONE PLAYER is more important than the team, no matter what some players think...
  21. KW as GM + JM as MGR = pretty damned good odds...
