I thought JM made the move for Marte, then Alou countered with Aurilia to hit for Bernard? That is exactly what happened. I didn't see, I was just basing it on what I read in other posts. If that is the case, then Manuel could have done nothing else. You can't change pitchers again. Marte had to pitch to Aurilia. Like I said on 2 other threads, this is what I would have done had I been JM. Alfonzo at bat, runners on 2nd and 3rd, I believe. Colon pitching, Marte warming up. JM HAS TO KNOW THAT AURILIA IS ON THE BENCH. Bring in Marte against Alfonzo and his .214 average. Sometimes you should be able to count on Marte for a K. If Aurilia comes in to PH, you have 1B open to walk him. If Aurilia PHs for Bernard after Alfonzo gets out, he's faced his one batter and you bring in Tom Gordon to have the precious Righty-Righty matchup. So many more possibilities would have opened had JM put in Marte ONE batter earlier. I didn't have a problem with Marte facing Aurillia. Until that HR righties were hitting a total of .104 against Damaso. I had a big problem with no one being ready against the 3-4-5 hitters of the Giants line up with a two run lead in the 9th.

Also a GREAT book on the Sox is by Dan Helpingstine, and it is called "Through Hope and Dispare" It is a MUST read for any true sox fan. Even more so this year.

Don't we have a spot open in the organization after Ward's firing and all of the resulting promos?

It is one thing to have a team with no expectations that loses. It is another to have a ton of talent and underachieve. If we had a team like Cleveland or the Tigers, I would still enjoy the season as there are no expectations. But this team should not be as bad as they are.

Like I said, Sunday was a freebie. A buddy of mine is a vendor and it is one of the days that they could get tickets for. Other than that, unless the ballclub wakes up, I am only going to the games that I have already paid for.

Yeah the whole getting 2 hits in innings 4-8 thing was a killer. Also the big DP's including Frank GIDP with one out and runners on the corners, the O just seemed to die after that one.

Hang in there dude. Save all of your change for a couple of years, and then go in and find that person Saturday morning 5 minutes before they close... Revenge is a dish best served cold.

Texas City is right on Galveston bay about 15 minutes from Galveston Island right off of I-45. It is a HUGE refinary town. Really it is kind of a nasty polluted place. You are about an hour and 15 minutes to and hour and a half north of there.

If you get the chance check out NASA. It is about 10-15 minutes up I-45 from you. It is SOOO worth it! Get down to Galveston Island and the Bolivar Pennisula too, great beaches.
