  1. He got caught bringing drugs back into the US from Mexico...
  2. A true barometer of how much better the Sox have been playing? This thread had slipped all of the way to the 6th page.
  3. Not positive, but I think he was a draft pick. I'm assuming your getting at if he was acquired in a trade, you'd bring up the point that the Sox simply can't develop shortstops? We got Ozzie Guillen and another pitcher (Tim Loller maybe??) For Lamar Hoyt Shows what I know. I really don't know near enough about the Sox other then since I've been following them. This is from baseball libarary dot com. Not too bad for almost 20 years ago, for a guy who was 10 when the trade happened!

  5. That would get me almost enough money to buy controlling interest of the Sox.
  6. Well obviously Almonte has fallen some since you guys came together on this list...
  7. But they both are rotten!
  8. Clement is back to his old self, so no way. Sosa over Thomas at DH? Val at SS over Gonzalez? Sosa vs Thomas was my hardest pick. The only reason I went with Frank is because he has been a DH, and Sosa still looks like something is wrong at the plate.
  9. Why do you think it was stategically placed right between us and the Yankees?
  10. C Olivo 1B Choi 2B Jimenez SS Gonzalez 3B Crede LF Lee CF Patterson RF Maggs DH Thomas SP Loiaza, Wood, Prior, Colon, Buehrle CP Borowski, RP Marte, Wunsch, Koch, Farnsworth, Alfonseca, Gordon
  11. That isn't MLB it is the f***ing scalpers :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou scalpers for making impossible for the average fan to go to these kind of events.
  12. That might be my last resort. I just wonder if security will let any scalper near the ballpark without arresting them.
  13. Yup, if we sweep the Giants, who have not been playing well at all as of late, we could be looking at an 8-game winning streak before the Boston series. E-Lo on Friday against the Pads is a given W (although B-Law has been pitching extremely well for the Pads lately and they got Kotsay back). Wright on Saturday is the only game that's a question mark, no matter how bad the Padres are, but then again he's going against the Pads worst starter in Lower. Then Garland faces the PAds second worst starter Tollberg, who got lit up by the Tribe yesterday. We just need to get to Kirk Reuter (7-1) early against Colon tomorrow and things will be ok. Rueter is a lefty right? Yes, he is a lefty. We should have a good shot at Rueter then. With our all right handed line up these are the guys we need to take advantage of.
  14. I have been looking around at the prices of all star game tickets and let me just say there are some people getting rich off of this one. The lowest price ticket I could find just for the all star game itself it $375 each! They go upto almost $2000 each for good box seats. And that doesn't include the suite someone listed for $81,000!!! Looks like I won't be going to the All Star game!

  16. Belle's got reduced to 7 games though on appeal...
  17. I don't get this thread anymore. This is all old news. This has all been handled back last year and in spring training...
  18. As much as I don't like Sosa, and the BS lies he came up with to try to cover himself, the suspension is pretty much what anyone has ever gotten. I can live with that. Now if MLB wanted to set down new guidelines and say that anyone caught cheating gets something like 20 games, that I would agree with. It pisses me off when you mess with the intergrity of the game. And that would go for everything from cork, to spitballs, to steroids, and anything else of that ilk.
  19. http://espn.go.com/mlb/news/2003/0611/1566433.html well at least they didn't totally puss out on him. 7 games is pretty historically fair.
  20. I could put up better numbers than the double digit era numbnuts has been toting around... White's not doing so bad... assuming 1 IP per outing, he's averaging 1 scoreless outing per 9, about. So his scoreless IP average is comparable to Loaiza's ERA... :puke on WhiteFlag
  21. You could "technically" draft El Duque, but why would you want to do that? Wilson Alvarez could be an interesting pick. And is it just guys who played for the Sox, or guys who were in the Sox system?

  23. Sosa came to camp 20 pounds lighter this year. It was a blip in the papers in March at the beginning of Spring Training. Bonds also came in lighters as did a bunch of other players. I wonder if the steroid testing had anything to do with that?
  24. I tell you what, I'd be willing to bet that Ginter would put up better numbers than Acevedo. Just a hunch.
  25. Are you saying the JR and company aren't honest with us when they say that they don't have anymore money in the budget for players?I find that hard to believe
