  1. Right now Frank would almost be an ideal #2 hitter. He sees a ton of pitches, gets on base, and gives guys an opportunity to see more pitches. The thing is I like the line up with Harris and Jimenez at the top better. Frank is finally starting to drive in some runs with RISP at #3.
  2. Bingo....it's even more surprising that he's able to put up these numbers with a terrible offense and bullpen...if he's on the Jays he's won every start (not taking anything away from Halladay at all....however look at Lidle, who has about 10 wins with mediocre era and whip numbers) Give the Sox 2 runs in that 1-0 L, and Loz is 12-1!
  3. And Clu, this is EXACTLY what I am talking about. First we aren't to judge Mark on what he has done before, but now, but when it comes to Frank, it doesn't matter because of what he did up until 97 and in 2k. Don't get me wrong. Frank and Joe Jackson are the best two hitters this franchise has ever seen. The years Thomas put up in the 90's were incredible. I appreicate what he has done for this team. If he puts up a few more decent years he should be a first ballot hall of famer, if he retired today, he would be at least a 2nd or 3rd ballot HOFer. There is no one else on this team you could say anything like that about right now. I just get annoyed with hypocracy.
  4. And don't forget who is on Mike Scocia's staff this year...
  5. It isn't even that I don't like Frank, I just get annoyed with the double standards that get applied to certian players.
  6. There are 10 guys with more HR's, 40 with more RBI's, and 44 guys with a higher batting average. And that is just in the AL. Nuff said.

    Sell outs

How about KY Jelly? Now they can lube us up before they f*** us.
  8. So why still the Frank Thomas worship?
  9. He signed a contract. If he wants to be in the NBA it is his decesion, and he is compenasated for it.
  10. Cough, cough.. ace... E-Lo.. cough, cough.... E-Lo....career high is 11 wins...cough..cough...never been an all-star...cough...cough.... It is the 2003 All Star game. Not the career all star game.
  11. Both Frank and Carlos had 4 points. The tie breakers go to Lee as Carlos only had two outs, while Frank had a K to go with his two outs. The pickers were Sox4lifePA (2nd in a row????), Juggernaut, and cwsox.
  12. They usually post them within an hour of the game. I have to imagine with Mays starting that we will see the usual host of lefties including Willie, Daubach, Jimenez, and Val.
  13. Little edit there... " that should be dispite how well he was pitching
  14. I don't mean his #'s have deteriorate, I mean his skills have deteriorated. He is a shadow of his former self. And the sad thing is he is still better than Mark Grace
  15. There is no doubt about it. Frank Thomas and Royce Clayton played like s*** for long stretches of the season last year and only got benched for a game or two at a time at most. Keith Foulke has a bad stretch and never gets a chance to win back the closers role dispite how bad he was pitching, and then is traded right away in the off season. He pissed someone off.
  16. He can refuse the assignment at his age and level of experience.
  17. I think Loaiza is the guy that should and will start the All-Star Game for the American League. He is also our most valuable player this year, hands down. If he can have a second half as good as the first has been, he will win the Cy Young Award. AGREED 100% ESTEBAN FOR STARTER!!!! Hey SS, since I was more then dead on in my E-Lo prediction when we first signed him, does that make us even for the Munoz and other bets/predictions? I guess so I guess we will just have to switch off on rounds
  18. Palmerio has really deteriorated. Unless he was a one year giveaway kind of thing, I wouldn't really want him.
  19. You can't blame Konerko, he has been on the bench for the last week or two. Yeah, it's amazing. A guy hits .191 and he's benched. Are we gonna start saying JM is making a bad decision to bench PK? Wouldn't surprise me. Why so negative today? Hehe, I'm one of the most positive people around here when it comes to the Sox losing. You never see me freaking out after losses, and I'm often the voice of reason amidst a barrage of " :fyou him", "trade him", "fire him", etc, etc, etc. It's sickening to me how down some of you (not you specifically, I'm speaking generally here) can be on the Sox, then just moment later you love them again. It's like Jekyl and Hyde. But when it comes to PK, he should not be playing. It's plain and simple. I don't know what the Sox are going to do, because I don't know if he has ANY trade value at this point. And he's not going to get any value if he's sitting on the bench. But at the same time, if the Sox intend to win, they can't just leave him out there to hit under .200 and hit into countless DP's. They're in a tough situation, and I don't know WTF they're going to do. Think Baltimore would do Konerko for Ponson straight up? You are right Konerko shouldn't be starting. I am not one of those people who gets all glassy eyed over a player and refuses to admit bad things about them. Right now Konerko sucks and Daubach is hitting while we are winning. You play Daub and bench Pauly. It is that simple IMO. I just didn't understand Konerko getting blamed for lack of offense when he hasn't even been playing. Who gets blamed next, Sandy?
  20. You can't blame Konerko, he has been on the bench for the last week or two. Yeah, it's amazing. A guy hits .191 and he's benched. Are we gonna start saying JM is making a bad decision to bench PK? Wouldn't surprise me. Why so negative today?
  21. We got to him after he came off of the DL with elbow problems. Now that he is healthy again he seems to own us once more.
  22. This is how KC's season has broke down. 16-3 start, then they went 16-29 to fall back to .500 at 32-32. Now they have won 7 of their last 9 games to get back to 5 over. The first 19 games they played they won against inferior competion. Once their schedule balanced out they fell apart. Now during this short spurt they have run into an injured St Louis team, and a slumping fueding Twins team, now they are in Cleveland who they have owned all year. In other words, until the Royals start to beat someone good, no I am not convinced.
  23. against Cy Mays? I wouldn't hold my breath.
