  1. I'm a fat white guy. I'm not. This is a recent picture of me: Where's your little gerbil then? Why do you think he is smiling like that?
  2. and just to go back to the title of the thread. How can we be only 7 1/2 games out?
  3. I now have the picture of Sammy breaking his bat last night as my new wallpaper
  4. Myself and the rest of the engineers were told the same thing (no impending layoffs) by the company I used to work for...my boss was laid off 2 weeks later (it's been 7 months and he still hasn't found work) and the rest of us were given notice of being laid off two months after that. I, luckily, landed a job before being laid off. In other words, don't be so quick to believe management that there won't be layoffs. Yeah when our company got bought out they told us it was to preserve our jobs because we were going to be big enough to compete in our industry. A year and a half later only 3 of the 30 people who used to work for us, still work for the new owners.
  5. Evening, but not after say 9pm Chicago time. I have to work early in the morning.
  6. Ummm....4 total bases for Carlos = 4 points plus 1 point for the run scored plus 1 for the stolen base. He did cross the plate, dude. So he got 4 for touching them all and 1 for the run and sb each. The total bases stat is based on the bases they get just from the hits, Bb's and HBP's. So a single is worth one TB, a double two TB's etc. It has nothing to do with getting moved up. Really that would be more of a result of the hitters behind him, versus what that particular hitter did. They get rewarded for the run, and if the SB so everything gets taken into account.
  7. wow that sounds more like a Cotts line...
  8. Sammy is 2nd in the NL OF balloting. Vlad is 120,000 votes behind and Pujols is 125,000 votes behind. http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/mlb/news/mlb...r2003&fext=.jsp
  9. 4 points for Carlos... 1 TB (for the single), 1 RS, 1 SB, 1BB 3 points for Frank 2TB (2 singles) and 1RBI.

    Help!!

When you post something that long on internet slang and sex terms you have no life. But it was very educational... It was a cut and paste that took a few seconds, plus a couple of edits... probably not much time at all was put into it.
  11. LMFAO!!! The ballhawks on Waveland??
  12. I am going to go with Borchard off of the AAA pitcher Good
  13. I did go over there to read all of the Sosa stuff too. My favorite was the Cub trolls complaining about people trolling the Cubs board. Pots meet the Kettle! And like I keep saying, why would you still want to keep posting on ESPN? That place sucks ass. Between the trolls and the crappy format, the only redeeming thing is that you can interact with fans from other teams. There are some great posters on some of the other teams boards, but there is no one left on the Sox board worth a s***.
  14. Nope. someone in another thread said that b'hams website said he left with soreness in his shoulder.
  15. Well either he is a liar or a dumbass. Judging by his personna I am going with Liar.
  16. When Tim McClelland called his umpiring crew into a conference Tuesday night at Wrigley Field, his mind flashed back 20 years to Yankee Stadium. The Kansas City Royals' George Brett had hit a home run against the Yankees, and New York manager Billy Martin challenged it, saying Brett had placed too much pine tar on the bat handle. McClelland, the plate umpire, agreed and, after consulting with his crew, called Brett out, a decision later reversed by American League President Lee McPhail. Eleven years later, McClelland was on the field when the Cleveland Indians' Albert Belle was accused of using a corked bat against the White Sox at Comiskey Park. When the umpires confiscated the bat, an Indians pitcher wriggled through the ceiling into the umpire's room to replace it with another, non-altered bat. "Strange bats follow me around, I guess," he said. The latest bat-astrophe in McClelland's career came when the Cubs' Sammy Sosa broke his bat on a ground ball in the first inning Tuesday night. "The catcher picked up the bat and said 'Look at this' and kind of threw it at my feet," McClelland said. "I turned it over and there was a small, probably half-dollar size piece of cork in the bat, probably right about halfway down the barrel. And I guess it was notched in there. I felt it and it obviously was cork." McClelland called the crew together before calling Sosa out and ejecting him from the game. "I wanted to make sure the crew knew it was cork," he said. He also was cognizant of Sosa's role as a goodwill ambassador for the game, and "all the great things [sosa] has done for the game of baseball." "I said to the crew the ramifications of what is going to happen with this," he said. "I didn't want to do it, [but] the evidence was right there. And you have to go by the rules." 17. The other thing is how about Mike Porzio? Is this guy a classic AAAA guy or was he just misused out of the pen, and this organizations next Josh Fogg type, with no real great pitches, but gets people out?
  18. that's what i was thinking. i know they were getting a kick out of it. i could just hear the glee in Hawk's voice. lol Yeah as soon as they mentioned it they both started giggling like JR high school girls talking about boys. Like I said, that whole thing made my night.
  19. Please don't post pitching match ups when you put up PTC threads for days in advance. The ones that got posted are all messed up, and could mislead people to pick someone thinking of a particular match up. Such as picking Graffy thinking a lefty is pitching when in fact a RHP is starting and Jose will most likely play Thanks
  20. Let me put it this way. I went to bed after the 7th inning and we were up 1-0. I had NO DOUBT when I looked for the score this morning that we would lose. NONE.
  21. Ginter should have been up here out of spring training with White getting his walking papers IMHO. I have said it all year and I haven't seen anything to change my mind.
  22. Carlos Lee with his HUGE 4 points last night... Pickers were Mathew Soxheads and WinningUgly.
