I just heard that. Frank showed the ump up. What else do you do? You are not allowed to argue balls and strikes and Frank wouldn't quit. The guy has had a HUGE strike zone, but it has been the same zone all night long. It gets to the point where you have GOT to swing.
So since Maggs got screwed out of his HR and JM didn't even come out of the bench to stand up for him the Sox hitters are now 0-9 with K's by Jose, D'Angelo and Frank.
Two straight singles to start the 3rd with Nomar and Manny coming up. Bart just doesn't look like he has it tonight. They did just say that he has gone 8 innings in 6 of his last 7 starts, I wonder if he is a little tired?
Not only is Mark 4th lowest in run support for, he is 5th in the AL in worst bullpen era after a start. The pen has a 6.59 era in games after Mark B pitches.
Just a guess but I think we were just taking a chance on this kid. We got the guy we wanted with the first pick and we figured maybe since we stayed on our budget for the first guy that we might be able to free up some cash for Sweeney. Incidently 8 of our first 9 picks are now signed,
I don't see what the debate is over. The ball hit the top of the wall and bounced up and hit the fence. The foul pole is considered a HR. The ground rule is if it hits the top of the fence and goes out it is a HR, and if it bounces back in it is a ground rule double. Since it hit the foul pole it should be considered in the stands. What is the big deal?
