  1. Just want to address this since no one else did. The reason Frank is lacking in RBI's is because he is still only hitting .229 with RISP and 12 of his 16 HR's are of the solo variety. In fact if you break down his RBI's it is kind of interesting; 12 have come on solo HR's, 12 have come RISP, and 11 have come with a runner on first. So 23 of his RBI (or 2/3's of them) have come WITHOUT RISP. That tells me he is still having problems in the clutch but is really hitting well with no pressure.
  2. If you want to take two players from the dead ball era and compare them to the offensive onslaught of today there are going to be about 50 players that get into the HOF.

    149 MPH

I think you missed a decimal place...
  4. Look out AL. Maggs is starting to hit line drives again.
  5. When we set up the contest as a group on ESPN we had this discussion before. We decided as a group then that there should be a winner everyday. We modeled our version after the way that Hawk's PTC version goes, and they always pick a winner between the players that are picked. We also decided that yeah you could pick one of the big players everyday, but that is why we limited players to two picks a week. Also it makes for stategy to see if no one has picked a certian player and pick them that way you would be the only person to win if they were picked, ala Juggernaut winning with Armando Rios last night. And as many times a player who was the best wasn't picked, the incentive is there to take risks, just not too many people have been willing to do that. That being said, if there are a lot of people who want to see this rule changed I am more than willing to adjust the game to what most people on here want.
  6. Kearnes would be the last of the OF'ers that the Reds would deal. First would be Griffey, then would be Guillen, then Dunn, and finally Kearnes. And the deal for the Yankees would never get done, as the Yankees don't want to add long term RH power payroll. They want lefty power, and a LFer.
  7. I got a new Dell last summer. Built it myself on line and I love it. I got a whole bunch of extras on it, and didn't spend a whole lot. Get rid of that Compaq as fast as possible and never buy another one of those pieces of s*** again. My last one was a Compaq and it never worked quite right. Plus their customer service sucked ass. Maybe HP will make it better, but it was so bad, I am not even willing to try. The next computer I buy will be a dell again.
  8. Yeah, but can you blame us?
  9. sorry daver.. uhhh i mean maury........ :fyou OUCH!
  10. But we are still missing the first and second rounders! C',mon guys! First rounders always take longer. hes gonna get signed up dont worry about that. Sweeney (2nd) is gonna be a tough one from all i have read. IF we can somehow sign all 15 of our first 15... this is gonna be one hell of a draft. I was guessing that since not one word has been said about him signing. At least Anderson has been out and about and talking to us. Has Sweeney even done that much?
  11. Frank should make the HOF right now. I think it is too early to call him a first ballot guy. Depends on if he can put up some numbers for a few more years, or if April and May turn out to be more typical of the rest of his career. The guy is in a great hot streak for the last 10-15 games, and it will be interesting to see if he carrys it the rest of this year, or if it is one month in 6 like last September was to his 2002 season.
  12. BTW since Rowand has been back he has gone 2-6 with that 3 run HR raising his BA about 20 points, his SLG about 60 points, and his OPS about 70 points. So far so good for Aaron.
  13. He would have if the offense had gotten him enough runs...
  14. I think that one day cemented that core group of posters to really stick together. That was one of the funniest things ever.

    HSC

Can you paint a bullseye over that image and paste it up in the clubhouse?
  16. Man I wish I could have been alive to see a world series!
  17. But we are still missing the first and second rounders! C',mon guys!
  18. Rios and Ordonez both had 7 points. Rios with the tie breaker by only making one out vs Ordonez who had two outs and a CS. The only picker was Juggernaut, congrats!
  19. I think Rocco Badelli is going to be the Rays rep. Just a hunch.
  20. It looks like Wright vs Lawrence could be a huge game in this series.
  21. Who are our real prospects down there?
  22. The adjustment they made in his swing was they dropped the starting position of his hands about 5 or 6 inches. He was starting them right around his shoulders, now he is starting them letter high. It took that long loop out of his swing, now everything is hit on a line.
