  1. They took away the error from Maggs and gave LoDuca an inside the park HR.
  2. Bump. GET EM IN!!! So far today no one has taken Borchard, Olivo, Valentin, and there have been only one pick for Jimenez Crede and Lee.
  3. last time i checked you won or lost with 25 guys, not 4. Yes those players are underachieving, so what? The fact remains, this team has about average talent, and below average winning spirit. Their record speaks for itself. 1. I think you're not getting something here- if those four perform anywhere near their capabilities (as shown by the 3-4-year breakdown), Sox are 12+ games over .500. Easily. 2. Our pitching has been pretty solid, certainly better than in 2000. Check the stats, then add to it the fact that Koch and White can only improve at this point...The problem is the offense, specifically what we are not getting from our LF-RF-1B-3B spots....you simply can't argue with that. I will repeat myself. Those 4 players HAVE let me down, and other players are doing better than expected. Overall, based on record alone, the sox are performing a little worse than i expected. Of late? They are horrifying me. ON offense who is preforming better than expected? MAYBE Jimenez, but after that???? And of of the starting pitching only Loiaza has out preformed. Out of the pen, I would have to say Wunsch and Marte have surprised, but with Martes last year numbers maybe it is time to say that he is just that good. So really there are two overachievers so far out of 25.
  4. If we can get a real live CF in the deal, or a SS prospect of some kind to succeed Valentin.
  5. Absolutely. There is too much empiracle evidence to say that this year is a blip on the radar.
  6. That is your opinion , I have mine, Clemens /Wood does nothing for me, has nothing to do with Sox, this was Clemens 3rd try at 300 ...yawn.....and Wood has barely been a .500 pitcher. Then your scope of baseball knowledge is way too narrow. Anytime a guy is going for 300 wins is huge and to be doing so at Wrigley where the Yankees hadn't played since 1938 and against a fellow Texas pitcher, not to mention the young vs. old plotlines makes for great baseball. If you didn't watch, then you have no clue how this game played out. If you don't care, then get the hell off this thread and go back to your narrow view of the game, however sad it is. Because my opinion on game does not agree with yours is no reason to get personal, 2 people can disagree without questioning someone's scope of baseball knowledge. Sorry, if you can't see that matchup today as a great one, then I certainly question your baseball knowledge and your understanding of its history. If that is considered getting personal, then so be it. If you aren't interested in it, fine. If you can't see the significance of it that tells me all I need to know. Opinions are like assholes everyone's got one, matchup was 100% ass kissing media hype in a month no one will care or talk about the great Clemens/Wood matchup. Game was one for the ages So what better match ups have you seen lately?

    Hey Ugly

If you were me this week, who would you take if you won in the worst for best league? I am having a hard time choosing a player. I am thinking about either Thome or Giambi while leaning towards Giambi.
  8. Did we ever get our bats back from Birmingham
  9. They have already said pauly will be DHing when we get back to Chicago.
  10. I would like to see Jimmy Rollins leading off for us, in front of Jimenez. It would make the top of our line up dangerous. But I wouldn't deal Loz to get him.
  11. What is wrong with Almonte? He has put up great numbers until this year. Is he hurt, is it mechanical or what?
  12. Joe Crede, c'mon Joe lets keep this going!!!
  13. I agree wholeheartly. That was one of about half a dozen marquee match ups that happen over the course of a season, and actually live up to their billing.
  14. Tim McCarver was ripping Sammy a new one during the Wood Clemens match up yesterday. He kept saying that there was NO WAY that he didn't know what bat he was taking up there. Almost echoing Sammy's way previous quotes about always knowing if a bat met his exact standards or not. He said that Sosa would have known INSTANTLY if he picked up the wrong bat. Basically Tim McCarver was calling Sammy a bold faced liar right there on the Fox broadcast.
  15. Can you imagine what he would have thrown in Carlos doesn't drop that ball in the 8th? He would have been around 75 pitches! That is incredible
  16. yeah the first two picks and the top HS SS sound like the keys to this draft right now.
  17. The catch of the deal is that the Sox were going to use Gagne as a starter, not in the pen.
  18. although the PTC editing site is down, so the results have not yet been posted.
  19. Friday night ended up being a tie between Jose and Frank Pickers of Frank were Texsox, OldRoman, ElrockinMT, Mathew, and me. Pickers of Val were cwsox and Big HurtBeGood. For Saturday Thomas edged out Crede by one point with two excellent preformances (9-8) Thomas pickers were Chisoxfn, TexSox, Juggernaut, and SoxfaninBeverly
  20. They did just say that Choi was alert and moving in the ambulance on the way to the hospital.
  21. WOW sorry, that is NOT what I meant, I meant NOT as bad. I am really sorry guys. I must not have been paying enough attention. I am REALLY sorry!!!
  22. They put him on a backboard, and took him off of the field on a stretcher. I am praying that it is worse than it looks. Sorry guys again, I really messed up typing this. I meant that I hope it wasn't as bad as it looked.
