  1. So we are going to try this on an experimental basis. The hitters will be scored on the normal point basis. And if the pitcher has a game that is deemed better than the winning hitter he will be deemed the winner. Once again you can pick either the starting pitcher or the bullpen as a whole in addition to any of the hitters. We will try this for a while and see how it works. So post your picks for Monday here.
  2. And you don't think that Billy Beane won't be screwing us over soon with KW as our GM?
  3. Hey BMR you wouldn't happen to be kenblanks on the ESPN board would you?

  5. There you go John. I personally couldn't have said it better.
  6. Only to one guy, this has been going on for three months now, with the same guy, saying the samething over and over again.
  7. Damn Frank. All you had to do was get a ball up in the air, and we get an insurance run. Instead we get the taylor made DP ball.
  8. :fyou. There is no way it takes you only a a minute to calculate the PTC based on your system for a game like the balt more one when the SOX won 8-2. And now since I've created a MUCH better OBJECTIVE scoring system I think we all should strive for perfection once in a while. Perfection? Dude what do you think that this is? An invastion plan for Syria? It is supposed to be a fun contest. The simplicity of it, is so that anyone who participates can take a real quick look at the box score and see how their player did on any given day. The whole point of the system is to be user friendly, not to be the blueprint for quantitative analysis of a game. Call it arbitrary if you like, but I haven't heard anyone else complain about it.
  9. hey dude, maybe you should follow another sport then lol. I dont care WHEN he gives up his hits or runs, just that he does. Now that is funny. It doesn't matter when they give them up, huh? Think about that just a little bit. Think about what? That i dont care how a closer got a 4 plus era in the nl? Why would i? lol If you don't care so much why the hell are you arguing with everybody then?
  10. My way takes less than a damn minute. There is no way I am going to dig through game logs and take god damn notes about who moved where, when, and how. It is pointless and complex. You have been f***ing nitpicking at this for 3 goddamned months now, and I have no more patience for it. Once again if you are so damn convinced that your way is so much better feel free to put together your own contest and keep track of everything that you b**** about this contest not doing. The whole point is it is supposed to be simple. It is the samething I have said all year, and you if still don't want to listen to me. :fyou

  12. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/game...og?statsId=6552 OK well looking at his game log and stats, he has had one outing that is accounting for 45% of his era, and about 1/3 of his walks. 9 of his appreances have been perfect, 11 of his appearances he hasn't given up a hit. He is averaging a strike out an inning, and has only given up one HR in just over 24 IP. He has one loss where he came in, in a tie game, and only one blown save, of which he went two innings and ended up getting the win. STATISTICALLY he looks like he is doing a damn good job to me.
  13. Yeah right HSC, this is a White Sox board. you'd have better luck just asking someone for the $10!
  14. Hitters: 1 pt per base & 1 base for each advancement of a runner. Pitchers: 1 pt per out, -1 pt per base, -1 pt per run If that is too much to remember or too complex, you need help IN other words I have to go dig through the play by play of each game and figure out even if someone made an out if they moved someone up and how far they moved up on each hit. I would have to cross reference every single AB in the game that occured with someone on. Plus I would have to note how many outs there were when something happened. How is that easier? Right now all I need is in the box score. You're kidding about this being easier right?
  15. Esteban is making me a little nervous so far today. He has been in a couple of tough jams so far. You can't give the Twins that many chances or eventually they will take advantage.
  16. OH NO don't equate Clayton with me. I hated that POS. I am a fan of Jose's, I just wasn't sure if anyone else realized how bad of a slump that Val had been in.
  17. Maybe I should have said something about his hitting a couple of weeks ago!
  18. Crede with a leadoff double. Let's hope unlike the Twins we can score this guy!
  19. Nice pitching by Esteban to get out of the 2nd. Lead of double by Meink, moved to third with one out, and then great defense behind ELo by Crede holds the runner on a ground out, then Meink strays too far off of 3rd thinking he might be able to score on a WP, but Olivo guns him trying to get back to 3rd. On the play Mein twists his ankle and is out of the game.
  20. If he isn't hitting what exactly is he giving us?
  21. We already have KW as GM, what's the difference?...
  22. OK I have thought about it, and there is only about one way to do this. I am going to go ahead and add pitching to the pick to click equation. There will be two sets of pitchers that can be picked. The starting pitcher will can be one pick, and the entire bullpen can be the other. But since I have yet to be convinced that there is a really fair and easy way to equalize the hitters and pitchers, we will stick with the point system for hitters, but if the pitching prefomance warrants I will annoint either the starting pitcher or the preformance of the bullpen as a whole the winner of the Pick to Click for that day.
